We have a family membership to the KIA. I tried taking my young son to the KIAs downstairs activity room this morning and was told itd cost $5 for me to use that room because the Tiffany exhibit is so expensive. Complained in person to Jay Simon, the membership director, to no avail. Strikes me as un-family friendly, unfair, extremely wrong-headed. And certainly the membership folks dont warn you in advance that you may incur surcharges on your annual membership to use facilities that have nothing to do with special exhibits. Ive since heard this policy has upset other patrons.

Kalamazoo Institute of Arts is a historic institution and Kalamazoo Michigan which was founded for the Arts force and has really done a lot for the community in promoting and maintaining the pursuit of the visual arts. I have attended at least 5 semesters on scholarship at Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. I would not be able to afford good training without the scholarship. I am very grateful to Kalamazoo Institute of Arts for their generosity and quality.

I cant say enough nice things about this place. I have been graced by two scholarships here. The staff is conscientious and kind. The quality of people who support the arts are top notch, I am as grateful as I can be for them. They also have a top notch library and world class rotating displays. One of the gems of Kalamazoo.

Had a wedding reception hosted here. (neat idea to allow guests to roam while the wedding party takes pics!) A few lovely pieces, but exhibit by local artists that was featured at the time we visited was a bit lacking. If you are in the area then drop by, but I wouldnt go out of my way to visit.

One of my favorite spots in Kalamazoo. People visiting Kalamazoo need to put this on their places to see. Enjoy art from around the world and local artistry. They also hold classes in the fine arts for those who want to try a new hobby or hone up on their skills.

A great place to have in Kalamazoo for all ages! They hold very fun and reasonably priced classes and events all year long. The KIA Art Fair that is the first weekend in June is always something to look forward to.
