I found out about an instance at Gerstles Place that occurred Friday evening (April 29th) and have actually been too sickened to write a review until today. Someone very close to me went out with friends that evening to celebrate a move to a new city. A fun night out with friends turned sour when one of the employees at Gerstles started harassing my loved one and their friends. The group of friends left their establishment and the employee continuously harassed them by following them out the front entrance. The employees temper escalated and he hit my loved one who happens to also be a female. He punched her in the face and she fell to the ground. She has marks all over her and damage to her eye. Gerstles has replied to several reviews by changing the story and downplaying the situation. This is very serious. What kind of business allows their employee to punch a woman? I will NEVER give them my business.

Recently remodeled, Gerstles Place offers a great neighborhood atmosphere along with a large selection of beers and spirits. They also have two music stages, one on the seasonal patio, and the main stage complete with one of the finest in-house systems in Louisville. Also featured is a comfort food menu. A favorite place for many to hang out on The Ville!

Incredibly loud, slow service, staff was not friendly. Place was packed with 40 something desperately trying to be 20 something. Might have been the band and night, but clearly not my crowd.

First off this place apparently has never had fried pickles so dont believe the other review. Very small menu of both beer and food otherwise its a cool place with decent food.

This is a great place! Its in the heart of St Matthews! Outside of the Highlands....this is the place you want to be. Its close to many other great bars. Defntly worth a visit

Strange shape, but good dance floor and live local music (Vessel plays there), pool table is cramped by walls and costs $1.00. Decent beer selection.

The remodel looks fab. Just wish there was more musical variety at the joint. Keep seeing a lot of the same acts over & over there...

Live music. Multiple rooms and an outdoor area to suit your mood. Security is fairly friendly when breaking up fights.

New patio is a welcome addition that really opens the space up. Check out the band War Panties when they play.

Good fried pickles, but otherwise a pretty small menu of normal bar food. Beer and liquor were nothing special.
