First off, Wyldewood Wines are all fabulous! Ive bought their wines from various liquor stores as well as their mead from the Renaissance Festival. I have yet to come across a wine from this winery that I dont like. But this is a review of the actual winery, not the wine, so lets get to it. Before we went to visit I had read reviews online both here as well as on TripAdvisor. I knew I wanted to stop and visit on our way from Wichita to Oklahoma City, but I was slightly skeptical about how it would go after reading some reviews that the staff wasnt the most friendly. I didnt tell my husband about these reviews because I didnt want to temper his expectations and wanted and unbiased opinion of the staffs friendliness. That being said, my experience was similar to other reviewers. We walked into the tasting room and a woman was setting out plates and napkins. She asked how she could help us and I asked did we could do a tasting. It was 10:15am on a Friday, not your usual wine tasting time, but its when we were in the area and they were open, so we figured wed stop and it probably wouldnt be busy. There was no one else in the tasting room, but I still got the feeling we were an inconvenience. The woman came back and helped us to our tasting. She was very knowledgeable and helpful, explaining how we could get our favorite wines on order from our local liquor store if they didnt carry our favorite varieties. The samples were terrific! Everything we tries was sensational! Im no wine connoisseur, I prefer sweet wines, but even the semi-sweet that I tried was great! I didnt try their dry varieties because I know those arent my favorites, but they had them for those interested. We ended up buying two bottles and the woman warmed to us a bit by the end of our visit, but first impressions make a difference, in my opinion. After we left I asked my husband about the impression he got. He felt the same way, that we were being a bother to the woman who was working to set out plates and napkins. Overall, I love their wines and will provably go back, but the woman in the tasting room could make the experience a bit better by being a little warmer and more welcoming. Id understand the frustration if wed come in 10 minutes before closing time, but as theyd only been open a little over an hour on the day we visited, I dont understand why she seemed irritated with us. Unfortunately, that first impression tempered the mood of our visit. Maybe next time will be better.

My wife and I stopped by Thurs, Aug 3rd about 10:30-11:00. Sadly, we didnt have an enjoyable experience. We were really excited about this stop since we frequent wineries and usually will buy an entire case or 2. The older lady working there (sorry didnt catch her name) was not welcoming at all. Didnt say one word to us when we walked in even though we mentioned it was our first visit. We had to ask her if we could sample some wines (I had my fingers crossed it would be someone else with more personality). Nope it was her. She begrudgingly handed us the menus. We had to ask how many we could try. No suggestions given. Meanwhile our 2 little boys were looking at a mustard bottle. She gave them a stink eye, so I grabbed some crackers, using the tongs, and sat them down. They were good after that but she seemed she just wanted us to hurry and leave. I walked the boys outside to look at the fish when we were done sampling but my wife said she didnt lighten up once the kids were gone, so I suppose it was her personality rather than children annoyance. :/ tl;dr: Nice little winery, but we suggest calling ahead to make sure an accommodating employee/owner or at least someone with personality will be there when you plan to visit. Seeing this place has a 4.5 average, the wrong person working there can break a customers experience!

I live in California and every year or so do a road trip to Kansas, and usually pick up a half case of berry wine at Wyldwood. My favorite is their cherry wine which offsets the semi-sweetness of cherries with their natural tartness. Ive tried a few other berry wines in Kansas, but nothing matches the quality of Wyldwood. I wish they would produce a champagne!

Wyldewood Cellars has a delicious variety of wine! My personal favorite is the Strawberry Rhubarb Wine with Sweet Blackberry as a close second! I like them so much that I even started giving them out as gifts. There are also many other items Wyldewood has to offer that are non-alcoholic and taste amazing! Defiantly my first choice for wine!

I havent been to the winery in a few years but the people there were far from rude. They answered all of our questions and recommended a few wines. They did say that many times it depended on individual preferences. That is why we were given the choice of dry, semi-sweet, or sweet on our fruit wines.

Wow these people are rude! When I asked for a recomendation for a sweet wine I was told that its just whatever you like. Just very rude, What ever happened to customer service? If I treated my customers that way I wouldnt have any. I wont go back to this place.

We did the Wine Tasting Experience and it was fantastic! We tried all the various dry, sweet and semi-sweet elderberry and grape wines. MEAD is awesome and the spiced Elderberry is amazing. You wont be disappointed!

They are on the rude side, but I do like their wine. I wont go out of my way to buy the wine. Customer Service is the reason for my rating.
