I wrote and published a review yesterday. For some reason it still doesnt show up today....possibly because there was so much truth to my criticisms? ....next days response is that reviews cant be blocked so I will try again. My experience and warning to all is a very overzealous security staff. My husband and I are both in our 50s and we farm in SE Iowa while I also teach 2nd grade. Last Friday night we were on a 30th anniversary "date night" and it was amazing! We sat in front of the showcase lounge stage at the bar about an hour before the show started and played video poker and each had 2 glasses of wine. The show started around 8:30 and after a few songs we danced until around 10:30. We always have a good time together but for some reason that night was exceptionally fun! We sat down for a break....my husband got one more glass of wine (not me as I planned on driving home) and sat on the bar stools, knees together, and were engrossed in animated and engaging conversation...topics ranging from farming this year, situations at school as of late, our 3 daughters and great luck to have 3 great son-in-laws, our grandson and coming granddaughter, and our excitement of making the last decisions for items for our new house we will be moving to in May. We agreed that we were so lucky to have all this and be married so long and still be best friends and we can see ourselves on the dance floor in 30 more years. THEN it ALL CHANGED...I saw 3 security guards pointing us out then walk toward us. My heart sank as I truly thought someone from home must have called the casino and had us found because something terrible had happened. (we hadnt checked our phones for a couple of hours) Imagine my surprise when they walked up..one in the front and the other 2 at his hips...arms crossed..stern looks...and asked if everything was OK...they had decided we were fighting! We were dumbfounded and assured them we were not! However, damage was done...the way they approached us made QUITE the scene...enough so that 2 different groups of people commented on it to us and were as amazed as we were that they thought we were fighting..one even commented "you guys are having a blast and have all night". I called the security back over as I wanted to know why he thought we were fighting and he said he was convinced we werent but had to check it out...which I actually appreciate but I DONT appreciate the embarrassment and scene they caused (I truly cant describe in words the way they looked and the scene they created....I bet everyone there thought we were big time criminals!.At school we have our complaints but we always try to end with a possible solution so here it is.... 1 guy could have casually walked by and asked a simple..."everything going good tonight?" and would know by our response that things were wonderful. Or better yet he could have stood directly across the bar from us and "eavesdropped" on our conversation and he would have known everything was wonderful....he maybe even would have blushed listening to us a few times as even though we are in our 50s, we can still feel and talk like we did 30 years ago! I asked him to look around at all of the other couples and even though a few were dancing many were disengaged...looking around...or even texting on their phones. We were singled out and humiliated because we were actually engaged and interested in each other....how SAD! And how sad that a wonderful night was ruined because security guys wanted to show off for a crowd....at least thats the only reasonable explanation I can come up with for why they did what they did in the way they did it. As I have shared this story with other school staff, family, and friends I have found several others with similar experiences so be careful if you go to Riverside!....your actions can and may be grossly misconstrued and leave you feeling shocked and embarrassed.

Went to "The Casino" with a group a few weeks ago and the trip was pretty average. The night started at the buffet where $16.99 gets you an eclectic mix of slightly above average food that spans a good portion of the globe. Its been a long time since we had prime rib, buffalo chicken pizza, chicken satay and spring rolls. Unlike many of the IC buffet establishments, this food was very edible. Beer was $4.25 and required cash on the spot - probably a good plan, but a little odd for a casino. The gaming floor required you go, literally, though a security check point with some rather intense ladies in uniform. They asked me if my ID was really mine... I responded that it was....good story. The smoking section was the far section of the gaming floor and the slot areas. It lead to the entire areas being a little noxious for fumes, but it was tolerable, though our closes smelling like wed gone back to a bowling alley in the 90s. The floor included a number of craps, roulette, blackjack (5 and 10 min) and poker tables. Nothing overly impressive, but enough to keep you busy. The slots are apparently very popular and it lead me to believe that most people playing either love Greek and Roman ancient royalty references (there were plenty!) or feeling rich when they venture a shiny penny on each pull. Oddest thing here were the bars. A buddy asked for a beer for both of us and the barkeep threw back some serious attitude about how one person could only buy one beer very 20 minutes and thus we could not buy for each other - we went to his neighbor and secured two beers in quick fashion. The final area explored was the back stage where a cover band played the best of the 70s and there were plenty of my moms would be friends getting down. Glad all were having fun! Overall, a mediocre-good experience were the company makes the evening. Nothing overly impressive, but if you love them slots, youve got plenty to keep you busy. Waitresses deliver bottled water so at least they promote hydration and the prevention of kidney stones!

Hello, we booked this as a nice romantic little get away. Upon getting to the hotel it was not very well market as what was casino what was hotel entrance. Then the front desk staff was not the most welcoming person I have ever meet. Them we get to our floor and start looking for our room not very well labeled. We enter our room and as many other said it was very unwelcoming to see 3.00 for a bottle of water and you will be charged if your pool towls are not Im your room. There is somthing on our head of our bed. had to search our room to find the book of area attractions and room service ext. I think its strange they dont have breakfast as a option for room service. Then went to get ice and there is a hair on our ice bucket. So we decided we would give the buffet a try and it was terrible. The people working the cash register had been having there own little conversation and kept just having it. Then we got seated and there was someone else dirty napkin at my feet. When I was walking up to the buffet the guy working was cleaning and was pushing the crumbs to the front instead of behind him. As to be having crumbs flung at me. The food was very plans and not much of a selection. Its pretty said when you go to a buffet on prime rib night and the best thing was the pizza. Casino was ok nothing amazing. You can hear everything in the hallway in your room. The best part of my trip was the lady working the snack shop. She asked how our night was going and she was sorry we had crappy service all day. It 7 oclock and Im up writing this and ready to go sleep in my own bed.
