Let me first say the casino isnt that bad. Kind of small and the usual games / slots Drinks are not free even if you gamble but certain beers are $1 on weekends Staff is friendly Now for what was a very bad experience We drive a truck across country and we visit many many casinos in many states We have stopped here a few times before and the visit was average except the buffet. It was terrible so we knew not to eat there again Well last night we called for the shuttle to talks us back to our truck at the truck stop. Security said 3-5 minutes. We wait 15 minutes. Call security again. They say the shuttle driver said 3-5 minutes we told them we have already waited 15 minute So we wait another 20 minutes for a total of 35 minutes watch the shuttle that goes to the hotel come back four times !!! Finally the shuttle driver for the truck stop shows up We get in and I say. Wow that was a long 3-5 minutes at which time he proceeds to start yelling at me and curing me out saying I was a liar and I didnt wait no 35 minutes. My husband told him there was no need to speak to us that way but he continued to yell and curse Wow Horseshoe you much be really proud to have shuttle driver talk to your customers that way We alway end up spending between $500 and $1000 each visit but we will NEVER EVER stop at this casino again or any in this town for that matter Our money is green it spends everywhere and I know for a fact there are much better casinos who appreciate our business The way your shuttle driver behaved shows us how little respect for truck drivers you have. So we will be letting all our driver friends know how we were treated and tell them to keep far far away from this place !!! You should be ashamed

I havent been in the Horseshoe Council Bluffs for awhile. They have really changed the casinos layout. I wanted to locate the new Lord of the Rings slot machine on the Monday visit. I asked the guard where the Lord of the Rings slot machine was he directed me to the directory of the map, what seemed to be helpful turned out to be a nightmare. The map showed where it was supposed to be, as I came to the location it was not there. I went back to the guard and he told me to ask the slot attendants to help, but I could not find them or some were busy helping guests and I did not want to interfere. So I went back to the map and finally figured out where it was. The map is not helpful it should have the name of the machine or asset number and location letter of each slot machine should be on the map. The machines that I played were dirty, carpeting in some areas need cleaning, it is sad to see the casino understaffed and overworked. Please improve the facility.

The Village Square Buffet has been the WORST place I have EVER ate at! I attended the oh so exciting "Land and Sea" Friday special and was expecting crab legs, types of shrimp, steak, all the good stuff right but boy I was sooo naive. The only exciting seafood that they had was cold shrimp and butterfly shrimp and this disgusting salmon that was so terrible I had to spit it out because it was difficult to swallow it it was so dry(not exaggerating) I paid $25.99 and was expecting a CASINO BUFFET but instead got the food similar to what you can purchase at an office building cafeteria. None of the food was different than what you can get at Golden Corral, at least Golden Corral had more options and their food is actually hot not stale and dry. I should have asked the hostess what foods were available before wasting my money on food that I had to spit out on my plate. I had better food at a gas station.

My car was broking into at horseshoe in there parking garage only being in the casino 45min... After filing reports with casino and police.. A week later after having to call the detective... He told me after reviewing the casino tapes.... They seen a guy walking thru the parking garage checking mutiply cars... But he happen to get in minds somehow.. Unnoticed by horseshoe casino he managed to get away with 1k worth of my things... Also stealing my girlfriend needles being a diabetic.. Who was watching camera need to be fired and they need to patrol there lot better... But since it wasnt there belonging they could care less... On top of that. I lost alot of money in that casino... Double negative. .. I would recommend not going to horseshoes if you dont want car broking into... Too many meth head in the area...

What a joke of a casino. Pit boss bought me a beer, two sips of it and two security goons, Blair Williams and Brandon Bruder tapped me on the shoulder and said I was intoxicated because they smelled alcohol on my breath. So I had to leave. I was winning on the blackjack table and husband was winning on the crap table. Dealers are rude, security is a joke, they have these huge badges around thier necks like theyre NY City detectives. I asked for their badge numbers and was told they didnt have to give the numbers to me. I just laughed at them. Then they told my husband that I was mouthy. Really, sexism at its finest. If youre a woman who knows how to play the table games, stay away, you will be treated poorly. Will not ever go back. Ill just go to Vegas where you are treated well. icaniso sucks.

Food is terrible and so is the casino staff. I own a breathalyzer and made sure I was under the legal limit to drive. I went to the casino and was turned away because "I smelled like booze". Everyone else in my party was allowed but I was excluded. I know the state law and I respect it, which is why I stayed sober for the night. No explanation given at all, and turned away. Terrible service, but fortunately they couldnt stop me from enjoying the entirety of my planned bachelor party in the area. Since shuttle services are free for a lot of hotels, definitely just rent elsewhere and save the money and fun.

This casino typically is very crowded during the day and until about 11 p.m.. this day the air conditioning wasnt working and it was very hot but usually its cold. The people that work there are just okay they dont go out of their way for anybody and its very Loosely staffed especially at night its hard to find someone other than security that works there. The facilities and choice of machines are pretty good A lot of them are older since Caesars Head filed for bankruptcy and they werent sure of its fate but its staying open now and theyre going to start making new machine purchases.

Ate buffet. Thankfully someone else bought as the food was over cooked and almost tasteless. The selections were severely limited with the exception of the desert bar. Worst buffet Ive had in a long time. Was there and ate around 6:30 pm on a Saturday. Gambling experience was not much better. Way over crowded card tables with people waiting to play while another sections stayed closed. Only 3 other types of card games other than Black Jack with completely over full tables. Overall my experience was disappointing. I will not be making this a regular stop.
