My new husband and I went to Grand Falls Casino Resort to have a quick honeymoon before our real honeymoon cruise. We drove 2 hours and had high hopes for this resort. First off the hotel check in is right inside the main casino entrance, no separate entrance marked for the hotel, so there isnt any assistance with bags here and youre not sure where youre supposed to go in which was somewhat off putting right off. We checked in, which was pretty quick, we were told there is a $10 charge for Wi-Fi, again off-putting as Im paying quite a bit to stay here already. I mentioned we had just gotten married and were there to celebrate but the woman who checked us in didnt even recognize that I said anything about it. Nonetheless we opted out of that and went to our room. The room itself was wonderful, I was very pleased with it as was my husband. We called the steakhouse and made reservations as the website recommended to do so. We headed down to the steakhouse and waited probably 10 minutes for a hostess to show up at the hostess station. We decided to go to the bar while we waited, I ordered a drink off of the signature drink menu-a pomegranate mojito. The bartender slapped the mint leaves on her bare palms and threw it in the glass-no muddling here. The drink tasted awful. We were then seated near a loud table of golfers who were there for a bachelor party-the groom was carrying a small blow up doll even. The talk was not what I wanted to hear over my dinner. We waited and waited...and waited. There was 1 server in the entire restaurant. We were about to leave when the hostess came over and apologized for the wait and offered us a free appetizer. I decided that Id rather eat there than the buffet for my honeymoon dinner so we stayed. The appetizer was terrible. I had also ordered a glass of wine when I sent my drink back, it was flat and tasted as if it had been corked for a week or more. Finally we ordered our meal. My husband ordered a caesar salad and a NY strip steak, I ordered a wedge salad and pasta with lobster and shrimp. My husbands salad was so wilted it was shocking they served it. My salad on the other hand was actually very good. My husbands steak was very fatty and sitting in sauce that he didnt ask for and did not enjoy. My pasta was mediocre but definitely not worth the $43 it cost. I took the pasta back to the room but we left it there as it wasnt worth taking home. They provide you with a fridge but no microwave in the rooms. The hostess was polite and it was nice of her to apologize as well as offer us a free appetizer but the rest was so terrible it really didnt matter. The casino did have a great country band we enjoyed that night. There was one bar that was open-which was odd on a big holiday weekend. The bar only took cash also which was odd to me but I suppose if that was their policy then thats their policy. We got up the next morning (today) and decided we were so hungry wed go to their breakfast buffet-but then saw breakfast was over at 10. Im sorry but if you sleep in and get yourself ready for the day, 10am to be over is just not enough-a resort should offer a later breakfast. If they do and I did not see it then that was my mistake. I thought at check out when they asked me how our stay was I would tell them it was disappointing and we wouldnt be back but they didnt even bother to ask. This place was a HUGE disappointment for us. It would have been either way but more so considering we just got married and made the trip up there because it looked so great online. We would have been happier staying home-not to mention not out hundreds of dollars for it.

Nice, new, clean feel to the casino, as it should be since it is new. Nice location. I like to hit this place up after going to the Palisades, then going to eat crab legs, then going to a movie after that. Buffet food tastes fine to me, which is the main reason I go there. crab legs are usually good though some days they are better than others. The other food I enjoy as well. The price is competitive with the $5 club card credit. Plenty of casino games, probably the best looking/cleanest casino that any person in South Dakota, western Minnesota, or NW Iowa could go and visit. I like that its out in the middle of the countryside, so I can visit while completely bypassing having to drive through any town if I wish. I do not typically stay at the hotels so I cannot tell you about them.

The casino itself is very open and inviting with a modern feel. The gambling floor had a good assortment of table games. (Craps, roulette, poker, blackjack, etc.) However, the variety of slot machines was a little less than desirable with very few large feature machines. Echoing what others have said, the slots seem tighter than other casinos with lower payout amounts. Drinks during happy hour were reasonable, but a cash only bar was a slight nuisance. The buffet had a decent assortment of food to choose from overall. Visited on "Barbecue night", but was disappointed with the selection of BBQ limited to pork ribs and flank steak. Price paid ($18) for the dinner buffet per person was high for the offerings. A plus is the casino has coke products.

We went to Roberts buffet today and we regret it! SIMPLY THE FOOD SUCK! The food taste awful and after few minutes while we are sitting on the table the food became cold. It was a little bit warm and the AC was high so after few minutes the crab was too cold. There was no big variety in the buffet. The steak was not the best. The rice was so bad. Fish nuggets was cool. The desserts was okay and especially the cheese cake had higher quality, but Im not planning to go back and spend $20+ just for cheese cake. If youre looking for a buffet you might consider huhot or carnival, but carnival might be relatively higher price and if youre not chinese/mangolian food fan you might think twice about huhot, but dont even think about roberts buffet.

The casino was rather small, and I was disappointed in the small selection of the newer games. The fabulous however were beautiful. The food was good at the cafe. The room had a lovely view, and was pretty in and of itself. The frosted window from the shower into the room was a unique touch, but when someone got up to use the restroom in the middle of the night, the light shined thought the while room. The lighting in the bathroom left much to be desired. More lighting needed by the mirror. The balcony doors were a pain to open and close. The staff was friendly, and responded promptly when the party in the suite next door got a little too loud at midnight. All in all, I would stay here again for a romantic get away.
