MCC Chippeways

This is a very good golf course and it is fair. The greens were in great shape when I played -7/28/14- and the fairways were a match. It is quite interesting in its change of terrain and links to wooded holes. The fee is very reasonable and in my opinion represents an outstanding value. This course has at least four very tough holes but are very playable and not overly penal. You pick the tee and if it is too easy just go back til youre satisfied. I played the back tees on a cool day and with the wind in our face I could not reach the 18th (par four) with two good shots. My only criticism is 3 of the holes where trees come into play on tough par fours I feel it is a little over the top with difficulty- #9 drive in center of fairway and Im directly behind tree, same story on # 7. And #10 is one of the tightest driving holes anywhere- a little too tight in my opinion. That said it is interesting to play tight holes then go to one with a 50 yd wide fairway. If youre in the area - play it- you wont be disappointed.

Course was great condition. I was there on Wednesday August 23rd. The guy In the pro shop was terrible. We had buy 9 holes get 9 holes free coupons. He said that meant you had to have a second person there and you can play nine they can play nine. Thats not the way it works. It means you pay for nine and can play nine more for free. Thats always been my experience. Also it said get a free bucket of range balls. He said that also meant you buy one bucket and get a second free. The coupon said you get a free bucket. It didnt say anything about having to buy one first. He needs to be removed. He is terrible with people.

In the beginning of the summer the course was beautiful. But towards the end of the summer it is looking really rough and in not good shape. Some of the markings around the course isnt their fault from some unexperienced golfers. But overall a decent course.
