In all honesty the Center really does speak for itself in the service it provides to the LGBTQA Community specifically and Chicagoland area as more generally. As far as a community center is concerned, it is just that, a center for every person to feel welcome and safe within the community. The services, although aimed at the LGBTQA Community in Chicago, are open and all-inclusive to anyone who walks in their doors. If COH doesnt currently offer a service they are at the very least a good point of reference to go about figuring out where to go to meet the needs of their community. The services, benefits and sense of community is all encompassing from their youth services all the way up to their senior services. A special treat for anyone who enjoys and appreciates Art are the free evenings of gallery openings at Center on Halsted that take place the last Friday of every month. Not only are you able to view some amazing artwork featuring local artists, your also able to meet Board Members, Ambassadors, ERG leaders, and members of the community. This is a relatively new program so attendance to this event is import in making sure that it becomes a staple in the community! As a new business owner and invested community activist I am proud to call my home Chicago and to call the Center on Halstead my home away from home! Traveling for my business, Ive noticed, that there truly is no place like home!

The Center on Halsted is wonderful facility that is open to the public. With a cheerful staff that loves what they do, the Center offers a multitude of services for the LGBTQ community in Chicago. Equipped with a multitude of spaces for youth, seniors, mental health patients and visitors, its no surprise that Center on Halsted sees over 1,000 visitors walk through their doors a day. Whether youre look to play basketball at the recreation hall, see a play at the theater, grab a bite to eat at the neighboring Whole Foods, attend an art gallery opening or get information on a support group, all are available seven days a week! I love visiting the facility and it has certainly become a second home to me.

Incredible establishment with world-renowned health care and services ranging from housing assistance to mental health and physical health services which are free or cheap depending on ability to pay. Outstanding establishment, and above and beyond common expectations set for similar service providers. This place is truly among the rare examples of patient-first facilities with an unparalleled level of professional, ethical and affordable services dedicated to assisting nearly every aspect of life for individuals of all ages, income levels and sexual orientation/gender identities. Proud and honored to have this nationally acclaimed facility and its programs located in my neighborhood.

The Center on Halsted is a wonderful resource for the Chicago community. Their LGBTQ programming is informative, friendly, and a welcomed addition to the city. I went to a performance in the third floor theater and the staff was helpful and eager to answer my questions. They offer a wide range of resources for anyone looking for more information and I hope they are around for years to come.

The Center on Halsted is the center of the Boystown community and continues to strive to provide relevant and needed programming for the LGBTQ community at large. There are programs here for everyone, from youth to seniors and COH is doing a great job maintaining a center for Lakeview.

Its a public space with lots of different personalities, not unlike anywhere else in the city. Not great for working (especially if you need to plug in) and its extremely busy on Sunday afternoons. Itd be an appropriate place to eat what you buy at Whole Foods and people watch.

This place is the central hub for LGBT community services in Chicago. Behavioral health, teen and senior services, live events, and community fundraisers. Dont you want to go where everybody knows your name AND pronoun!? This is it.

This is a great service to the community. A place for the GLBTQ community to feel safe being themselves. Aside from typical social and health services it also offers a place to play sports and learn new skills such as cooking.

Always busy, but I always seem to find seating for me and my friends. Love the Whole Foods next door [wine oclock] to grab a quick bite and take care of business.
