Edited to change to 4 stars: I received a phone call from Gemma in management yesterday, and she was wonderfully helpful and apologetic for what happened. Apparently, the letters I sent were not received by the rightful people, or perhaps at all, because the contact info I found on Google is outdated, which they are working to fix. Gemma said they would also talk to the person involved with the original situation and work to ensure this experience is not repeated for other patrons and also personally assured me a great experience if we ever return to Chicago. Thank you! I am not a picky person, but the customer service at Cadiillac Palace Theatre that we received was APPALLING. We had tickets for Aladdin on June 14th. A huge group, about 50 people, were approximately 25 late to the show. They were let in with no attempt to organize them first or minimize the disturbance to the rest of us who missed ONE ENTIRE ACT of the show as they tried to find their seats. Even middle school auditoriums have better theatre etiquette than to carelessly admit a huge group into a show after it has begun. When we complained during intermission, our usher got her manager who rudely dismissed us. I then wrote letters to both the General Manager and the President of the theatre. I gave them two weeks to reply before posting this review, to give them a fair chance to respond to my complaints. I have received NO REPLY at all from either of them. I have received far better customer service from teenagers working at McDonalds.

We have enjoyed the Chicago Broadway scene for years. However, November 11, 2016 we took our 9 year old daughter for her first big production and had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience! The ticket agent did not know how to scan my I-phone with my tickets. While she was trying to figure it out a large UNRULY school age group entered the vestibule behind us. MY daughter and I were pushed, she got an elbow to the face I BEGGED the agent to allow us into the lobby to escape their pushing, language and thug behavior while she found someone to help/show her how to scan the tickets!!! SHE REFUSED!!!!! She finally figured it out BUT by then my little girl was crying, I was near tears and our night was RUINED!!!!! I would like to request a few things to hopefully eliminate this situation. When a large group sales has been made please request the group present themselves to an area AWAY from the general smaller play goers. When a ticket agent is having difficulties with a procedure have enough sense to prevent injury to the customer by removing them from the area to an area where they are safe and she(agent)can locate someone who can assist her!!!!! This female agent was at the last door section and had apparently been poorly trained. IT WAS THE WORSE PLAY EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE AND MY POOR DAUGHTER NEVER WANTS TO RETURN TO THE CADILLAC!

The theater is beautiful and I have seen numerous musicals here, but the staff seems "old school" and thats one thing Im dissatisfied about. During the last show we attended (Aladdin), my son had to use the restroom so, of course, we had to run out and take care of this right away as he is a toddler and waiting could result in some unpleasantness. The staff refused to let us back into our seats after using the restroom. We had to wait until the halfway point in the musical when they allow a break. This was very disappointing especially because you cannot control when your small child will need to use the restroom and shouldnt be punished for it. We had seats in the first row and would not have had to squeeze through anyone to get back to our seats (we showed them our tickets so they were aware). Our sons first experience and we had to stand out in the hall.

Not enough bathrooms. Watching people at intermission was entertaining in itself; like cattle at a high school assembly. This makes it family unfriendly in my book. Oh, and dehydrate yourself and family before going here to watch something. Ha. Fees for the theater and ticketmaster are insane. So purchase your tickets from the box office if you can. Saw a big Disney production here. It was like looking at stretched buttons on an old dress shirt over my beer gut. The production squeezed as much entertainment into the theater as possible! Having a family musical like a Disney production, the theater should be more responsible on showtimes; not every family can see a matinee. Sightlines from the wings of orchestra seating are great. No need to be hesitant about purchasing these seats. Staff were professional, friendly and accommodating.

I saw Mary Poppins fly here! The Chicago crowd went crazy for that. I did not have the heart to tell them they were using wires. I figured let them have there moment. The theater here is amazing. The Theater Community is going strong in Chicago and there is nothing like this except for New York City. We did have nose bleed seats here but that is what happens when you buy tickets two days before. It did not matter because the whole family loved it. The crowd lost it again when the Chimney Sweeper did his best Lionel Richie and started walking on the Ceiling. Again people it is just wires. I wish they applauded this loud after every song because they are really singing live. I guess it is the little things that amaze people. So it does not matter what show is playing this is an incredible place to see a show!

Gorgeous, old school theater. From the moment you step in, intricate, ornate, gold plated decorations and chandeliers greet you. You step on plush carpet as you gaze in awe of your surroundings and you take in the overall view after ascending the grand staircase. What a great way to begin an evening at the theater. The seating is well laid out and gives you a fairly decent view of the stage no matter where you are seating. The acoustics are pretty good, allowing you to hear almost every word said or sung. One thing to note though, if youre looking to grab some dinner before the show, there arent too many options. Everything around the area seems to close fairly early so your best bet is to go have a bite elsewhere before going for your show.

Ive seen about 6 shows at the Cadillac Palace Theatre now and so far have enjoyed them all. The interior is always clean and while there can be a little too much gold in the front area the actual stage is laid out rather well with a wide viewing angle making seating not horrible to get as some of the areas in Chicago can be a bit cramped. Honestly, the leg room is one of my major pluses about CPT as, while Im not an overly large guy I feel cramped in most of the Chicago Theatres so being able to semi stretch my legs is a true comfort. While you cant really pick which theatre to go to if you have as specific play or musical in mind, if you are down to 2 and one is here and one is elsewhere.. Id be picking CPT in a heartbeat.

I have been a Broadway in Chicago season ticket holder for the past 10+ years and have seen many shows at the Cadillac. The leg is pretty much my only complaint as there isnt any in the balcony seats. That does not stop me from going to shows here and I recently saw Jeckyll & Hyde here this winter. I was just here for Big Fish and we sat on the main floor - comfy seats, lots of leg room and a great production. They had the orchestra on the stage and used really cool lighting design. We have had some trouble switching tickets with the Broadway in Chicago box office, so subscribers plan ahead and switch in person if you ever need to change dates.
