Beautiful course! Wouldnt call it PGA worthy but for the price its unbeatable! Ive played at Tarpon for almost 4 years now. When I first started the course had its problems, so did my golf game haha. Ive noticed a huge improvement sense then. They complete remodeled the entire course, move green locations, improving fairway quality and even revamping and revitalizing once bumpy greens. Nice open course makes it easier for novice golfers to learn how to play and allows the more skilled players a chance to fine tune there game. Pro or not this course can be tricky, often times playing every club I have by the end of the game. I only expect things to get even better now that they have begun building a huge watering facility that will help channel water out of the softer fairway locations and keep everything nice and green through Floridas nasty summers. If you havent been here, GO. If youve had a bad experience here, give it another shot! And if you already go here, Ill see you there 3 times a week! Keep it up TARPON!

Friendly staff, very good course conditions. Given the tremendous amount of rain over the summer, the course has recovered nicely. The staff has been diligently working to keep the course nice. The greens were all replaced last summer and now they are really coming in nice, especially the greens on the back nine. The greens are still a bit on the hard side, but if you hit high shots into them they hold the ball quite well. This course is a great value for the money and the conditions are very good. Its a great course to walk, a good workout with very pleasant scenery and wildlife. Give it a try!

This course discriminates against single golfers, maybe even twosomes. Even though the course was empty for several holes in front of me and no one waiting behind me, I was not allowed to play and told to wait at least 1 hour before someone else was scheduled that I could play with! I could understand not wanting a single to slow up play if the course was busy, but this was not the case and they were only enforcing a policy without using any common sense given the circumstances. They lost a potential member who was new to the area and also gave a very poor impression of the area as a result!

I have been playing this course once a week for 8 years. When i first started playing this course, it wasnt in the best shape. Over the years, they have continued to grow and improve the course. I have to say that i am very satisfied with its current condition. The greens are beautiful! The course is wide open; So its perfect for improving your game. They are continuing to improve the course. Great job to the City and management.

Played there twice (February 2015). Not impressed with the fairways (hard, packed sand, even in the middle of the "grass" fairways). Rough was worse. Greens a bit bumpy. Went there with my father in law who lives in Florida and has played there often. There are some very interesting holes and it helps to play the course a few times to know what club to use and where to hit the ball.

The greens were beautiful. but not worth it. there was nothing exciting about the course . It was like playing golf on a open field. Ill never go back . My suggestion would be , there needs to me more of a define course hole per hole , much need landscape, trees flowers and etc.

Played for an hour and 10 minutes when on the eighth hole with their average course time 4 hours 5 minute so it was ridiculous. The course was soaked and not in the best condition. Greens were nice though!!!!

The course has been slowly improving over the last few years. After they complete their major overhaul this summer it should be great.
