"You get what you pay for". Got an early round in at Crescent Oaks. Paid $15 from online site called Golf18Network. Couldnt book a single online so I called the pro shop and the happily gave me the online rate over the phone. Arrived at bag drop off, no one there to greet me or take my clubs. Parked the car and made the long walk to the pro shop which is on the back/right hand side of the clubhouse. Was promptly rung up by a staffer but immediately an older gentleman who worked there walked in and started bickering and arguing with the young man who rung me up. Not professional... Went outside after being told the carts were ready just outside the door only to find the carts were some 100 feet away and my bag was still sitting at the curb at bag drop off rack. Walked all the way to my bag, found a cart that was available, and made my way to the 1st tee. The starter got me into a threesome, was very kind and chatted with us while we waited to tee off. He offered advice on the 1st hole and was a pleasure to talk to. Overall the course was nothing memorable. Fairways were nice but greens were SUPER sandy and made putting absolutely impossible. Also on one par 3 the downslope behind the green had knee high grass. This wasnt an OB area... There was about 20 yards of uncut grass from the back of the green to the red OB stakes that made it impossible to find anything that went long. Also the areas leading up to the greens (maybe the last 5 yards of fairway before the fringe) was a slush of grass and mud. If you planned to roll on the green forget it. If you hit short then you had to move your ball. This wasnt environmental, I played Wentworth the day before and had none of these issues. The water was mostly nice but on one lake the water smelled like sewer. The cherry on the cake was that we saw the cart girl twice. Once as we chipped onto the 9th green and once while on the fairway of the 18th... Neither which were grand finishing holes. It was an affordable round but I doubt Ill be booking there anytime soon.

On a late afternoon our 3 some pulled up to the 1st tee, coarse was quiet. only to be directed to the 10 tee again, this has happened before. the starter said I have a 4th and told the single to get in the cart with me, I said no, hes fine, the starter said no, I need him in your cart to save gas. omg, we all looked at him like he was nuts. we all paid for our carts and we didnt know each other , he pulls his clubs out of his cart, gets his belongings and moves into my cart. our 4th starts bitching right a way, and I didnt blame him, he wanted to play alone. and it wasnt crowded. So my new partner starts having a bad round, and hes bitching. we finish the back 9. we move to the 1st tee and I can see where someone had mowed down the 10th tee only start sign. my new partner is still bitching, he had lost all his balls. we tee off and he starts saying I should have jumped off at the turn. I ended up taking him back to his car from the 3rd tee. Ive played this course many times, this new management team has missed placed priorities. this is is supposed to be a fun leisure sport. forcing strangers into the same cart is wrong. Maybe they will read this, probably not. (save gas) REALLY?

Just got back from my first ever golf experience in FL....WOW! All I can say is I am planning my next escape to Tarpon Springs. I am from Ohio and although we have numerous nice courses, the quality of Crescent Oaks was in a different league....staff was amazingly polite and courteous; from the pro shop (Mike, Jeff) to the girls on the refreshment cart. Pricing is very fair and the course is a very fair and forgiving. I am relatively new to golf and dont have a handicap but I shot very consistent golf and left feeling like a better player. When paired (I was a single golfer every time) with other golfers, I found the group I golfed with to be very friendly and down to earth. This is NOT a course full of snobs and "country club elitists" but normal, everyday gentlemen. Thank you Crescent Oaks and Florida for giving this Ohio guy a GREAT break from the grey, cold, Ohio winter! I WILL be back!!!

We have been members at Crescent Oaks for six months and have been extremely happy with the services weve received for the price we pay. For this tier of golf course, you get a caring and attentive staff, as well as acceptable practice facilities and course. The course has had some recent noticeable upgrades - the most obvious of which was overseeding in the late fall/early winter. The grass is looking full and green! Would highly recommend this course for anyone in their price range.

What a JOKE..... we make the turn and are waiting on the group that we are following. The starter come and infoms us that we are no longer following the group we have followed the entire front nine but instead we have to wait so he can start a new group off the back?!!? What kind of a joke is this place.

Nice layout. Seen a deer on the tenth tee box. Course was a bit wet for no rain in a few days. Greens were longer than I like but rolled true. Superintendent must not got a Starbucks ,cups were set in a hard spot every green. Challenge was nice. Its a local favorite of mine 18 holes 3 hours.

Played today, temp in high 70s, thank you Florida. Course is improving every year. Jeez, those greens are tough. Only thing I could find to complain about was my score. Judging by the number of cars from Canada in the parking lot we werent the only snowbirds having a great time !

Just played today probably one of the best in the area for the price. played in March when Canadians cannot play usually until late april, or early may. Would play again make sure to get coupon.

Probably best place to have drinks and a round of golf...either here or Wentworth. Jesse is the man in charge here and he is super personable and a overall good businessman.
