Nur für historisch sehr Interessierte zu empfehlen. Es sind nur noch sehr wenige Räume zugänglich, und bspw. von dem alten Fahrstuhl oder anderen ehemaligen technischen Errungenschaften ist nichts zu finden. Zu Weihnachten mit Kitsch überladen. Die Aussenfassade ist m. E. besser geeignet (und mit Abstand das beeindruckendste am Museum), sich einen Eindruck zu verschaffen. Über damalige gesellschaftliche und politische Verhältnisse findet man ebenfalls nur sehr wenig Infos. Der Audioguide kostet zu den 11$ Eintritt nochmal 2$ extra.

The woman at the front office was extremely rude which set us off for a really uncomfortable and unwelcomed feeling. The museum is overpriced for such a small collection. Im an alumni from the school and was shocked to see they are now charging students so much to visit a section of their own campus. You would have a lot more fun just wandering the campus than visiting the museum. Beautiful campus, the museum is not the interesting part of it though.

“Self Guided Tour” Built in 1891, the Tampa Bay Hotel was an opulent showpiece that was visited by the rich and famous. The museum is housed in a portion of the ground floor of the original hotel. For $10 its a great place if you like history. As you walk around the decorated rooms you type in the number that is shown next some of the pieces (at least one per room) on the little device that they give you when on your walk in and it plays a short audio clip (around a minute) of more in depth info on the room or piece.

The museum was well put together and packed with information. The audio tour was a little hard to hear between me and my mom, but I understand they want to keep it quiet for other people touring the museum. Much smaller than I thought, but more than made up by the sheer volume of items and information we got to look at.

A splendid and cohesive walk through the history of Tampa and its path to become a city. Would highly recommend to any one even slightly curious "why Tampa". Cost was $10 and includes a movie viewing (approx. 15 mins) and guided audio tour. Time: action packed ~90 minutes. Check it out!

In town for our daughters track meet at the Unv. of Tampa and had some time to walk around this fabulous hotel. It was a pleasant surprise and would like to go back and go through museum. What a fabulous place to explore. Lots of hidden gems in the architecture.

Ive lived in Tampa my entire life but only recently visited the Henry B Plant Museum for the first time. The place is an amazing look back in time. The architecture and museum pieces are incredible. Anybody living in or visiting Tampa should visit this museum.

A normal visit to the Plant Museum is a fascinating trip to another time and socio-economic group. If you get the opportunity to go when they are having their Christmas tour take the opportunity to go. It adds another level to a very worthwhile time.

Brings the spirit of the old Tampa Bay hotel to life. I would strongly recommend going around Christmas time or when they have live jazz. The admission is a little pricey for the size of the collection, but it is something unique to the Tampa area.

Nice place to see a little bit of Tampa history for a good half hour. You can do the tour for around 7 to 12 bucks depending on what she or if you are a student. It is amazing to see how nice and calm it is during the summer.

One of the best museum from the "Gilded Age" I have every visited. To get the most from your visit, make sure you take the audio tour. Plan to take at least 4 hours to take the tour. The only down side is the parking is limited.

Visited for the first time this weekend. Excellent layout and flow from room to room for the exhibits. The current special gallery, Dogs in Art, was smaller than we had hoped. We still very much enjoyed our visit, though.
