Ok Id start off with the good. The bar is nice and "swanky", possibly provides the best aerial views of Tallahassee. There is a nice lounge area outside which makes for a good place to unwind after a long day/week. But thats where the goodness all ends... The service staff there is horrible. If possible I would give this place a 0-star rating. Hate to throw the race card here but my friends and I decided to give this place another shot after the first "racist" incident. The first incident involved receiving poor customer service and bad attitudes from the bar tenders at the LeRoc Lounge at Level 8. It literally took us over an hour to get recognized while our white/Caucasian associates surrounding us received service and drinks in no time (every time). We aired our frustration on an online review, received an apology via social media and service was noticeably better the next time we visited. Yet again, specifically the night of 12/14/2016 we visited this place again and this time around the level of service was just horrible/unacceptable. Noticeably while looking across the bar when any of the African-American customers attempted to get any of the bartenders attention they simply skipped them and acknowledged everyone else (even-though they had been standing there the entire time). It was a noticeable and uncomfortable aura across the establishment that "our" patronage wasnt appreciated. This was confirmed when making eye contact and casual conversation with others "of color" while standing there at the bar waiting to be served because it was obvious what was going on and we all shared the same mutual feeling. It even took over an hour for us to close out our tab. We literally had to have one of our Caucasian colleagues signal a bartender to get service almost every time. Such a horrible feeling. This hurts because as a person from the area whos always willing to advocate for the area its dreadful to notice this type of activity. These bartenders clearly have some type of issue. No type of textual review can describe the minimal type of interaction they give toward African-Americans customers. This place is marketed as an upscale type venue so a certain high level of service quality is to be expected. Discussing this to others in the area (especially those of color) they have noticed this to be an issue with that establishment, yet those individuals choose to stay silent and vowed not patronize the place if at all possible. Me on the other hand will be making it known that there is an issue and most certainly I will be informing my counterparts (especially those of color) that our patronage isnt much appreciated at this establishment.

I went to Hotel Duval tonight with a friend to attend an event that took place in the LeRoc area. Afterwards, we went upstairs to have some drinks and enjoy the view. It was around 8:30 pm and Level 8 was pretty empty. We found a seat and waited patiently to be approached by a cocktail waitress. This took at least 20 minutes. We asked for some menus and she promptly brought us a drink menu. I was interested in ordering food, but the menu indicated that we needed to request a seasonal food menu. Almost an hour later, another employee came by and he asked if we were doing okay. We told him we werent because we had been waiting to place our drink order as well as look at the food menu. He told us hed send a cocktail waitress out. A few minutes later, our waitress reappeared. I asked for the small plates menu and she gave me a confused look. I then pointed out the indication to request it from the back of the drink menu and she proceeded to tell me they didnt have that anymore, but she could bring over an appetizer menu. There was one nearby so she grabbed it and gave it to us. My friend told her to come back in just two minutes because we would be ready to order. She didnt acknowledge her, and fifteen minutes later, was nowhere to be found. Hungry and aggravated, my friend and I went to BJs instead. The lack of courteous customer service at Level 8 is appalling. The staff needs to learn how to accommodate and serve all patrons equally, making them all feel valued and appreciated. Tonight was a glaring reminder of why I havent been to Level 8 in years.

If it wasnt for my friends that put on events there I would probably never go to Level 8. Ever since it has opened the service has been PUTRID, really the only way to put it. From the time that the staff lost my debit card until later finding it in the bartenders back pocket, like what?!!! To the bartenders and bar backs wearing the same colored clothing so that when it came time to order a drink you have to play whos actually a bartender bc its impossible to tell by sight, to the time the Valet double charged me for valet, upon arrival and departure. Last night however was a special kind of crappy, my fiancée and I decided to attend my friends event, there were probably 70 ppl in the bar, and the bartender after numerous attempts to order put 272nd round says "sorry Im doing 1000 things at once in here" after acknowledging me by sight and verbally from a far, checking his phone and speaking to the cocktail waitress told him that I was trying to order a second round. Basically long story short, be prepared for the worst service in town and it does not depend on how full or empty the bar is. If you go make sure its just for a couple of pics, but dont expect to have a great service experience

The servers are very nice, but the bartenders seem to ignore younger guests. I stood at the bar for 20 minutes, and just when a male bartender was walking over to me, an older man approached; the bartender darn near did an about-face to serve him first, thus, causing me to wait for another 10 minutes. The view is nice, overlooking downtown Tallahassee. In the cold months, they have heaters nearby if you want to sit outside in the seats provided. On busy nights, they usually have a great DJ playing hip-hop and pop... But mostly hip-hop. However, their drinks are pretty weak. Even if you pregame, they may not be strong enough to get you to a nice level. And though the venue is small, the crowd usually doesnt fill the place. So, if youre looking for a place to chill with some friends and vibe, this is your place. If youre looking to get wild, maybe not.

I am very disappointed in the service I received at level 8 bar. We were sitting at the bar and was ignored by the bartender for 40 minutes even after trying to wave and call her. When I went to tell the manager she told the receptionist she was too busy to talk to me. I went to fetch my friend and we decided to close our tab. The manager approached us and apologized and said it was busy and the bartenders could not serve us. Its ironic because 30 minutes before the manager was socializing with another man not paying attention to the dire need for more staff at the bar. I did not even know she was a manager until I talked to her. A manager needs to be aware of busy nights and needs to staff accordingly and needs to get into it when there is a need for it and not stand along the side hanging out.
