A mix of a nerds paradise and beer snobs perfect hole in the wall. Fermentation Lounge is an excellent little bar with an impressive beer list and selection on tap. Ive been going for years and its always pleasant. The events they have are great, too. My only gripe would be that its too small, so in the winter time youll have to bundle up unless you get there early; youll be outside otherwise. But in Tallahassee, bitterly cold weather isnt too common, so I wouldnt mark down my review for this. The atmosphere is great, too. Youve got lunchboxes behind the bar on the glassware shelf, including a Battlestar Galactica one (my favorite). A projector playing black and white television of the past and a neat collection of artwork make up a fair amount of the decor. The people there complete the atmosphere, though. The staff is real friendly and know their stuff. Dont hesitate to ask for their recommendation based on what you like to drink. The crowds of people who go there are generally more mature, and less interested in getting trashed, which is always good.

Best draft selection in Tallahassee. 11 standard draft taps, a nitro tap, a mead tap, a cider tap, and 3 wine taps. Red, white and sparkling wines, multiple bottled meads, sangrias,, vintage aged bottles, bombers, and over 80 other bottle options. Nice outside area with picnic tables and other seating options. Within walking distance of venues and the art district. Crowds are mixed; Professionals of all ages, artist types, young entrepreneurs, hipsters, students, professors, home brewers, rare craft beer lovers, long married couples, singles, first daters, locals, travelers, and everyone in-between. Wednesdays are trivia night and uber popular. First Fridays are eventful. Taco Tuesday deal is a steal. Screen in back plays movies, vintage cartoons, abstract visuals, live streams of the international space station, aquariums, and other videos the bartenders might be inspired by. Just never football, so dont ask.

They have great beer/wine/drink selection, they also have food which i havent tried but heard good things about. sometimes they have live music and that is always a treat! It is a chill place where you can meet up with friends and not be bombarded by annoyingness and loud club music. Staff is very nice especially for a hipster place where I have found that service tends to not be a strong point, but that is certainly not the case here. I would consider Ferm to be a more upscale, mature crowd which is nice if youre over the whole "Rage" college phase! :) outdoor seating is fun when weather permits and overall it is an eclectic and fun place to go with friends for a night out. one of my faves in tally for sure.

Fermentation Lounge has a great selection of beers that is always rotating as well as friendly and knowledgeable bartenders who are happy to help you pick out a new drink. Its a smaller bar at which you can carry on a conversation. Also note that sometimes there are little dogs at Fermentation Lounge.

Lovely location but too small to support a group. Beer selection was impressive and Id probably go again just to sample more of them. However. They double charged my friend and told us we would have to move because the needed the floor space our benches and table were taking up for the band.

Classy without expense, friendly, informal, and with a fantastic, ever-changing selection of beer and wine to boot. If youre unsure of what to order, the staff are friendly and helpful. This is not a typical Tallahasse frat-saturated bar.

UPDATE: No longer dog friendly. This was the last, best place in Tallahassee. I guess theyre trying to be more of a restaurant, but that wont work. Obviously still the go-to afterwork place for yuppies and assholes.
