We came to the place at quite nasty weather, but that just sharpened our feeling of importance of this place of refuge. When you see the power of ocean and imagine the technology and options wrecked sailor had - youll get a goose bumps. Hopefully this small museum would be kept as good as it kept now.

Great piece of history. The beach rock formations are very cool to explore and photograph. Not a beach for swimming but very nice to walk and pick shells or have a little romantic picnic or a family gathering. The rocks are very sharp and can be dangerous. Use caution if visiting with young children.

Fascinating look at the early history of the Treasure Coast. Transported my entire family back in time when living here was much simpler, and far more dangerous. The information presented on the period surrounding the beginning of WW2 is especially interesting. Please visit...youll be glad you did.

Really charming small museum on the thinnest stretch of Hutchinson Beach, our guide (I think it was Barbara) was wonderful and enthusiastic without being overbearing. Your ticket price includes the guided tour which makes the trip much more interesting. Gorgeous spot, fascinating history.

Very historical Place there are beautiful coral reef cliffs over the ocean. There is also a 4-story Tower you can climb. In the oldest building in Saint Martin County is the Refuge building it is in museum

Enjoyed the packed small museum. Step back in time when sailors actually used this as a refuge. Photo below was shot facing south from the beach behind the museum.
