I have been to PAMM several times. Its conveniently located in Museum Park near Bayside Market Place. If they ever finish building it there will be a brand new Science Museum next door. There is plenty of parking in their attached garage for a reasonable $2 an hour. The location and the building are stunning. Its located on Biscayne Bay and many of the windows offer a gorgeous view of it. The building is very open and they are able to change around the rooms in their gallery by actually moving the walls depending on what they want to showcase. The art is contemporary which means that I largely dont "get" it but that doesnt mean I dont enjoy seeing it. One time when we were visiting there was a large piece of wood in the center of the room and my daughter leaned on it. A security guard ran over to tell her not to touch the art. See I didnt even know that was art! We spent a humorous afternoon standing off to the side watching other people get yelled at too. The museum is fairly small compared to say ones in New York City but it is still worth a visit. The outside has hanging gardens and a patio with a lovely view of the bay. The patio is an especially nice place to have a bite to eat from their cafe. Below the patio is sculptures in their garden. There is a small museum gift shop which is fun to take a wander through but I have never actually bought anything from it. When we attend we try to aim for the second Saturday of the month when admission is free for everyone. They also have free crafts based on their exhibits for the kids on that day as well. If you have a Bank of America card you can also get in free the first weekend of every month. The museum is always having a ton of events and if you are on their email list they will invite you.

I visited this museum once in 2015 and fell in love. It is my opinion that the Perez Art Museum exhibits a considerable variety of work that is all uniquely interesting! All the work is very contemporary which is such a relief in an art world where boring museums love to celebrate work that has been established by the market at least 50 years ago- and you guessed it- made by old white men. The work at the Perez is incredibly diverse and concentrated around important ideas that demand attention- ideas of politics, race, gender, environment, self-reflexive concepts of art practice itself. Maybe the negative commenters wished they could go to the Louvre, I personally lost interest quickly in paintings that were made to show wealth and power. If you want to go see classical work dont go to a new a booming art center like Miami that just recently established itself! Id rather go to the Perez and let my brain grind over some things.

I was disappointed with my visit to this museum. We took advantage of fee-free entrance on 2nd Sunday of every month and Im so glad we did, because the visit was definitely not worth $16. I am not sure if they have more exibits at other times of the year, but to me the museum was practically empty. I bet Cosmopolitan resort in Las Vegas carries more contemporary art than this museum! I may be spoiled, however, by Art Basel and my visits to multiple museums around the world. But still, Perez museum doesnt carry even a 10th of the exibits of Art Basel! The variety of art media is also poor, very homogeneous. On the up side, the museum location is beautiful and offers a wonderful view on the harbor and Miami beach. I also enjoyed my lunch at the restaurant which is a part of the museum. To sum up, I liked the views and the seating outside, but I wouldnt pay to go in.

Sorry to say, but this was by far the most disappointing experience I ever had at a museum. Ive visited major museums all over the world including New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Paris, Rome, Florene, Milan, London, Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro, Medellin, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Berlin and other cities, but the PAMM was by far the worst experience. For the most part the galleries and walls seemed empty with only a few disappointing paintings/sculptures. The US$16.00 entry fee for what it offered was a complete rip off when compared to how much grand museums around the world charge. The building is beautiful the location is magnificent with lots of potential. I sure hope this museum gets better as the city of Miami more than deserve something at the level of New York, London and Paris.

Terrible museum. Ive been to many art museums all over the world and this is perhaps one of the the worst. 15$ for such a terrible collection is legal robbery. My hypothesis is that the mayor of Miami once realized that Miami needed an art museum like every other massive metropolis is the world. So he asked a couple of friends to get around some random piece of art, stick them in a fancy building, and call it quits. Guys, were in 2016, Miami is the 8th biggest agglomeration in the country. Art isnt something you do part time thinking "lets give the tourists their little paintings so they have something to do on rainy days". You know its a bad museum when it doest even have one Picasso. The guy painted like 10,000 guys, all museums have one. Jesus Christ.

Perez Art Museum has quickly become one of the more eclectic art hubs in Miami with its views of the inter-coastal and interesting architectural design. Perez Art Museum or more commonly referred to as PAMM is at the cultural epicenter as it provides much needed programming for kids and adults in the community. PAMM also caters to their contributing members with events monthly for those that financially support the programs which include rotating exhibits housing different mediums of art from local and international artists. For no additional cost other than parking you can visit their park which features some sculpture art swings, and cafe under some unique landscape art that are usually synonymous with the building.

Opened in 2013, the Herzog & de Meuron-designed building has been largely responsible for the renewal of downtown Miami. Funded partially by collector Jorge Pérez, for whom the museum is named, the 20,000-square foot glass-and-concrete space houses some 1,800 works from the likes of John Baldessari, Olafur Eliasson, and Dan Flavin; there are also works on display by important Latin American artists including José Bedia and Beatriz González. Don’t miss a walk through the outdoor tropical plant-dotted sculpture garden, with large-scale sculpture gardens that are breathtaking against the waters edge.
