This park is wonderful! It has great waterfront views; a decent amount of wildlife to see (birds, squirrels, insects); sandy, grassy, and picnic areas; a boat slip; lots of restrooms; and good shelters and play spaces, including a baseball field and a kids rock climbing wall. Its excellent that local history is preserved in the Tocobaga mound and the Odet Philippe memorial in the park, too. The canopy of trees on the central road is gorgeous, and theres plenty of room to walk considering that the park backs up to Bayshore Drive, which leads directly into downtown Safety Harbor and the side entrance to its new Waterfront Park. I do wish that the name of the park would be changed to reflect that of the Tocobaga tribe, whose members were living in this area before Odet Philippe was, but the parks name doesnt affect its present-day amenities. Overall, Philippe Park is one of the best parks in Pinellas County!

Very pretty and on the water, great place to dock a boat. Its a long park in shape, parking lot is stretched long without a designated walking path, so everyone was walking with their kids where people drive. There is a path along the water that narrows to a fishing area closer to the entrance. Farther down there is a small beach, great for photoshoots. Monumental areas throughout, I strongly suggest staying closer to the water, not to miss the region atop the stairs - pretty. Picnic areas throughout, calm and quiet. The park ends intoa sidewalk that continues all the way south to St Pete.

One of my favorite Tampa Bay parks especially for holding parties because of the plentiful pavilions and grills (it helps to make an online reservation) and waterfront view. There’s barely any open expanse of fields so don’t expect to seriously throw that football around although there is good space for small games. This park is also great to explore: kids will want to climb the stone garden playground, step on history over the Indian mound, and bring your boat to launch off. There’s not really a trail so joggers and stroller walkers may have a difficult time here.

Super clean with plenty of natural beauty. The shelters are kept clean and the rangers empty the trash cans sevrrsl times while you are staging an event. Saftey Harbor boarders the east side of the park affording ever changing scenery with boat traffic, dolphins and crab fishermen at this time of the year. There is swimming if you want it ands its a photographers paradise. There is currently a horned owl and a screech owl nesting by shelter seven. Great place and playground for the kids also. Its the best for families. Dogs are also allowed.

Absolutely beautiful park! Great play areas, restrooms, picnic shelters and views. Though I am amazed and disappointed that there really isnt a walking or running trail. I would think that all of the pedestrians on the road would be a safety concern. Even just a "multipurpose" path along the side of the road would be a huge improvement. But then it might be just too perfect. I love this park!

A great local park! Very spread out with plenty of picnic tables, shelters, and public restrooms. Take in the waterfront view from just about anywhere in the park! Perfect for walking, biking, and bringing the kids or the dog. Towards the middle of the park is a historic Indian mound worth checking out since you can walk to the top. There is also a playground as well as a public boat ramp.

Yet another example of a home run that was hit by Pinellas County! Located along the shoreline of old Tampa Bay, this is probably one of the oldest parks in the county. Named for Baron Odet Phillipe, its also full of history. It also has some nice elevation changes which is rare for this part of the world. And lots of shade, courtesy of the many, many oak trees. Good times.

Horrible service. We needed to make changes to our reservation and The agent informed she could only refund half the money although the confirmation informs its $5 for change if needed. The agent does not represent the park well and gave many excuses. I would be more understanding if the agent was nicer. Beautiful park...just a bad representative.

This is a very beautiful park. Very family friendly, kids are always here and enjoying water sports. Lots of shade/wooded areas for a nice picnic without getting sunburned. There are also several private waterside BBQ/fishing areas, which are my favorite spots. This is one of my top places to visit in the Tampa Bay Area :-)

Great park for a variety of activities. Never too crowded and everything is spread out enough so you feel like you can hang out in your own little area. Lots of areas for bike riding, walking, and activities for kids. Bathrooms are clean though there is no lighting, so it gets a little inconvenient as the sun sets.

This is a great park. Lots of shade and covered tables along with ample bathrooms. Great for parties of all types. Theres a boat launch and very easy access for fishing along with a baseball field. Its pretty quiet for those that want to take your laptop and kick back and relax and have a great view of the harbor.

One of the most beautiful parks in Pinellas! Lots of shade, plenty of places for kids to play, dog friendly, boat ramp, softball/baseball field, plenty of covered picnic shelters and picnic tables. A beautiful place to sit and relax, watch the wildlife along the shore of North Tampa Bay, walk or ride bikes.

What a beautiful park. Many great parking places and walking trails. Friendly people. My partner and I spent time watching a couple of future owl parents care for their nest in the big tree in the parking lot. So neat. Were going back in a couple weeks to see the hatchlings..

I havent visited all, but Ive been to many of Pinellas county parks, and this is my favorite. Great trees, lots of Spanish moss, elevation throughout the park makes it more engaging visually. Highly recommended spot here. Room for everyone too it seems, with many pavilions.

I run to this park at least twice a week. Very quiet, and the roads are all tree-lined which provides a lot of shade. Picnic tables throughout, and a nice view of the bay. Low tide sometimes provides a "unique" odor, due to it being at the very very end of Tampa Bay

My favorite park! Love all the trees and the water views of Tampa Bay. Nice restrooms and pavilions. Lots of walkers, joggers, and bikers. Playgrounds for the kids are nice too. The tree canopy over the road is awesome! A must see park if you visit Safety Harbor.

A must see if visiting the area. The history of the mounds and the bay is very interesting. The park is a small piece of Pinellas County that is untouched (relatively) and a nice place to see nature away from the hustle and bustle of the sounds of the city.
