Want to start off by saying I know everyones experiences are different and sometimes bad service happens. It may be irregular but what my family and I experienced was less than desirable. We are staying in Orlando on our family vacation and decided to drive to the coast to take a boat ride and get some sea food. We found Grills Riverside Bar and the boat that accompanies it. The boat ride was fine and enjoyable. Great two guys working on it. We decided we would try the restaurant because they give $10 off for a groupon we found online. Its a great location and the facility was fantastic. The food and service on the other hand was what turned us off. We ordered a seafood dip that stated it came with captain wafers, and when we were given the dip it was alone on a plate and came with a basket of crackers that were still wrapped in the plastic. Just poor presentation on that part. Then when we received our food both my wifes coconut shrimp and mine were extra crispy and terribly brown like the oil had not been changed in a while. Their coconut sticky rice was just plain rice with a little flavor added to it. Never had sticky rice that was not sticky. I also had potatoes and they were not fully cooked. Both my wifes cheesy bread and mine seemed like it was a stale piece of bread that had been thrown into the microwave and had the cheese melted on top. Bread was not crisp like it was toasted so it had to be microwaved to melt the cheese. Our server seemed sweet but when we asked about the food she could not provide any good recommendations. She just said, "oh well this one is ordered the most". Seems like she wont even eat their food. To top off the experience I used the restroom before I left and the younger gentleman that sat us came out of a stall and headed right back into the restaurant. Did not wash his hands or anything before handling all the menus and touching everything else. Would not and will not recommend this place to anyone. The boat ride I would but not the restaurant.

The first time I visited I was pretty impressed. The place overlooks the Indian River, which is a nice view. There are always a lot of cars in the parking lot, so we gave it a chance. The inside is not so fancy, but the food is good - the rock shrimp appetizer is awesome. The restaurant has an outdoor bar connected, which also overlooks the river, and every time we have been there, they have had a live band. It is definitely a place where 40-50 year olds like to hang out. The second time I visited, I realized that the menu was not as extensive as I originally thought. They include the seasonal fish and seafood, and the standards, but nothing really elaborate or out of the ordinary. One other note, the last time I visited, we took my grandmother who was visiting. The restaurant is super dark. They keep the lights really low, which makes it hard for me to read the menu, and it was impossible for my grandmother. We had to grab our iPhones and use the flashlight just to read the menu – which made us feel silly. Staff was nice though!

This is the second time Ive been to this restaurant. Its been amazing both times. The grilled mahi mahi is to die for. For appetizer, the shrimp & cheese poppers were amazing, we also ordered the cheese bread which was delicious. Service was excellent and both times the restaurant has been packed. You see a restaurants true colors whens its under a heavy load and grills performs flawlessly, service is good, wait times are as expected for a good, busy restaurant. I also saw some negative reviews on here, but it shows good character when the restaurant responds to each one, we tried it and were more than impressed. Im disappointed there is not one of these closer to my place in Georgia, guess Ill have to move down here. Suggestions: add a couple of 2 person tables outside.

Me and my husband went there for dinner by the water we usually go to grills in Port Canaveral but this one was a little closer to home since we live in Kissimmee. It took our server 35 mins to take our order, she was too busy flirting with the 3 guys at the table next to us. I ordered the sirloin and I really dont care for the sides offered with the entrees and in Port Canaveral they let me get fries here in Melbourne they said no, so I had to order 2 sides that I would not eat. Never again will I come to this location I will stick with the Port Canaveral location it is 100% better. This location will ruin the Grills good name with the poor customer service.

12/27/16 We are visiting from Pennsylvania and have been to several restaurants during our week visit. We met up with some friends and they brought us to Grills and it was by far the best meal weve had since being down here. My husband and I both got kabobs and they were absolutely delicious! Tomorrow we are taking our parents to the one in Port Canaveral because it was so good. The wait staff was wonderful and friendly. The restaurant was very clean and had a great view of the water. Highly recommend this place!!

My Sister came to visit in early December, my wife & I treated her to dinner & drinks. She absolutely loved the food, atmosphere, and the outdoor deck with live music. We were casually dressed, flip-flops, shorts & t-shirts. She was concerned we might not get in due to our attire. The only concern the hostess had was getting us a table with a good view of the lagoon, the waiters concern was that my beer stayed full, & we were happy with the food. No worries sis, everything will be just fine.

Landlubbers beware! Not much on the menu for you here. I had a choice between a burger, a mini cheesesteak, and a chicken parm sandwich. Portions are small, food was ehh, server didnt know the menu, and prices were high for the quality. Decor is very casual, as in $10 plastic Walmart lawn chairs even when when eating inside kinda casual. This place is all about the view and the booze from what I could tell. That said it is usually busy so seafood eaters must like something...

Grills is a great place, but one sandwich was a big disappointment. We ate at Grills Cape Canaveral and really enjoyed the Cat 5 burger. It was so big we split it. We were looking forward to the riverside Grills. This time I got the shrimp Cuban and it was scrumptious. My partner got the fish and cheese Mahi sandwich. Her sandwich had a tiny piece of very fishy tasting Mahi. I will update later as I plan to go back and not judge the place on one poor sandwich!

The service by Tina our waitress was fair. Never offered water, did not ask if everything was to our liking. I had to catch her in between tables to speak to her. My spoon for my soup was dirty, my rice tasted like the kind you microwave. The fish was good and so was the view. My suggestion to you is ask up front will you be coming by our table to give us quality service. That was the first time I ever had a waitress walk away while I was trying to speak.
