I come here often, as I am a member of the Tower Theater across the street, so I have been meaning to write a review but got lazy and never got around to it. However, something happened this last Wednesday that inspired me to write the review ASAP! I was there Wednesday night for Happy Hour / Ladies Night / Karaoke Night - all of which are great by the way! I paid my bill at the end of the night and went my merry way. Later that evening, I noticed a mistake on the bill. I was overcharged by $10 because one of my drinks was not given the Happy Hour discount. I called the next day but did not get through to anyone so I sent them an e-mail with a copy of the receipt via their website. Incredibly enough, about 10 minutes later I had already received a response. Zack Bush said he would have the General Manager, Chad Love, take a look at it. By the end of the day, I had already received an e-mail from the General Manager apologizing and explaining what happened. Everything was fixed promptly and very nicely. This is the way ALL business should address issues with customers. It was way more pleasant than even I expected. Kudos to the superior customer service at Ball & Chain. I have a feeling these guys are gonna be around a loooooong time! Now to my actual review of the establishment itself - for all of you that dont care how fab they are and just want to get your drink on! The décor is simply GORGEOUS. You really feel transported back to a Caribbean 1950s setting where you can just imagine the likes of Count Basie and Billy Holiday doing their thang! The outdoor seating area is very nice and at night, they have gorgeous up-lighting that slightly illuminates everything and gives it a wonderful ambiance. The bartenders dont ignore you, even when the place is packed. They are super friendly and somehow remember what youve been drinking all night! And this is good because the drinks are great. Some people have complained about the price and while I understand its Little Havana, you cant expect a place that easily makes you FORGET youre in Little Havana to have La Carreta drink prices. The most expensive drink is $12 and they easily make up for this by having a DAILY HAPPY HOUR from 4 - 7 and on Wednesday night, ladies drink for FREE from 8-10. They have a jazz band that plays daily and is awesome. Really sets the mood indoors and while I have not been there on a Friday / Saturday night for their live outdoor bands, I can only imagine it is just as great. They have a food menu that is very reasonable - all items are $8 and while some are small, tapas like, many others are larger like their sandwiches which are DELICIOUS. I appreciate that although they are cuban, they have healthy menu options that are not fried! A huge plus! Check out this place - you wont regret it and I believe it will round out your Little Havana experience!

So if youre not a native to Miami, im sure youre not going to hear about this place as far as places to check out. I recently had my birthday here this past week and i would just like to mention the awesome service i received from this establishment. The manager on duty was Johnathan, who contacted me prior to Saturday to confirm my table. When i arrived i notified the bouncer that i had a table reservation. They let me in and put me aside as i waited for my table to be set up. The atmosphere is great if you are looking for that true latin music experience. Music was great enough said. Now most of you are interested in pricing. Not sure how the pricing system works but apparently there was a $500 minimum for a party of 12 or less. I bought 2 bottles and ended up paying $700. I wouldnt mind paying that tab at higher end clubs but this is in Calle 8 not brickell or south beach. Regardless of prices the great music and overall good time. Only downside is the smoke from cigars and cigarettes in the outside half of the club. I understand its outside but they should have a designated area for that stuff. My hats off for excellent service though.

My feet wont stop moving. Ill get straight to the point on this one. Ball & Chain is located in the heart of Miami. Notice how this isnt on South Beach. Well, Miami is known for its Cuban / Latin culture, and this is the spot to take in all of those vibes. In the middle of 8th street with the original Tower Theater right across the street, Ball & Chain is a great night out. It is a great spot with live music, food, drinks in a lounge setting. Now, please so not expect top service - You are not at the beach, you are on 8th street. So chill out, listen to some music and grab yourself a drink. Dance to some great Latin music and watch the dancers hop on the bar to show you some moves. It is a pretty big place with enough seating but if you get there late, expect to stand. And if you dont really like Spanish music, PitBull, Gente de Zona, etc then this probably isnt the place for you. But keep in mind you came to Miami for a reason, the beaches, the Hispanics, the good food - so give it a try, you may LOVE IT!

Went with a large group to celebrate my birthday on a Saturday night. Parking is not in your favor here. If you can Uber and get dropped off at the door. Otherwise you will need to Valet. Not sure how much it is as we Ubered there. The plus: No cover, for ladies and gentlemen all night - we went on a Saturday night at 12am. The live band in the back is amazing. They make you really feel the Latin/Cuban vibes. The drinks are strong, almost undrinkable strong. The downside: standing room only. It gets very packed. I mean you are going to be rubbing up on people no matter what. The inside area where the DJ is has a minimum dance area around a huge bar. The outside area is a bit more open but still tightly packed with the turnout of people who go. The prices are really expensive for drinks. As a local a d a girl we get used to drinking free/cheap. I fished out $45 on two drinks with tip. Needless to say, Ill be pregaming before coming here again. But the vibe is amazing of this place.
