We had a wonderful time camping here with our travel trailer. The permit was easy to obtain, just email SWFWMD for a 7 day camping permit and youll get the combination for the gate. This area was close to the main road and stores, but far enough away to be secluded and natural. There are no hookups here, just an outhouse and non-potable water. We saw many state police circle through the park and had one stop to check our permit- so it felt pretty safe. There were a few different trails which were great for dog walking. This is a wonderful piece of land available to the public.

Florida Prepper

First of all you dont have to pay to camp here. Just call and reserve it large camp sites with fire pits. There is a well for water but I wouldnt drink it. There is an out house in case you dont like to hide your poo like a cat. Places to fish, but no hunting. Take plenty of bug repellent because the large green flies will bite pretty hard.

Ross Bond

Great well maintained trails. Biking was fun, but I wish it was a little more technical. Camping out in the equestrian area is your best bet. A lot of space and nice pavilions with fire rings nearby. Great place to get out and wander. Beautiful ponds and palmetto groves galore.

Good hiking, biking and other outdoor activities (camping, horseback…). Lovely woods, lots of water (water often covers portions of the trail). Deep in (biking distance) is a spring-fed lake with dock (marker 6 on map). Parking at entrance off 52.

This is one of my favorite locations to hike. Plenty of side trails and wildlife. Be sure to come after about 10am -- earlier than that and theres a lot more people on the trails, especially folks on horses.
