For the price I had high expectations, unfortunately it did not live up to them. The service was good for them having to serve so many people that one time, but dont expect anything too personal. The food was just okay: the first course was a cracker cheese and fruit tray, the salad was Caesar and it was good, my friend had the prime rib and it was very good but not enough au jus, I got the chicken cordon bleu n the breading taste like chicken fried steak n was also not enough sauce on it, the rolls tasted a little stale or just not fresh more like something you get at the grocery store, the only offered one dessert (key lime pie with chocolate drizzle on top) and there should have been at least two choices since keylime isnt a most popular choice and most people didnt even eat the desert..lastly, you have to pay for each drink besides water and I think for the price they should have at least included some sort of general beverage... not to mention they suggest a $8 gratuity per plate on top of everything. Now... about the show, being someone who has a degree in theater I think the whole thing could have been written a whole lot better and definitely could have been more creative and interesting than just actors walking up and down the train saying their lines. Since its an election year their script focused around an election. Its set the 30s, I think, but you can tell it was a pre written presidential script that they just tryed to mix it with the current presidental characters. Again this could have been a great concept but they failed in the delivery and writing of it. Also the plot just was unclear to follow and not very creative nor misterious. The train ride is very bumpy because its on an old train track and you almost feel like youre on a cruise ship. I took my friend for her birthday and they did put a candle in her dessert, or you can bring your own dessert, we had planned something like this for a long time Im kind of glad we did it, however I would not do it again at thoes prices.

The ultimate "Who did it". This was our second visit and plan on it again next year because the stories constantly change. We arrived about 20 minutes before departure, the parking lot is huge. The walkways and ramps are wide and boarding was a breeze. On the train we were greeted by the service staff and shown to our table. Dinner and drink menus were on the table along with a nice cheese/fruit plate. They also supply you with pens and clue sheets. I suggest you review all the paper on the table for a synopsis so when the performance starts you have a little background. Drink orders were taken immediately, I got the one that had caboose in the name, sorry I dont remember the name exactly but, it was really good. Dinner was ordered soon after. The dinner staff have everything timed out around the acting scenes so you wont miss anything. I had the prime rib dinner and it was really delicious. The train stops during dinner so you dont have to worry about movement while trying to eat. Its also the half way point and they will bag up what you cannot finish. I dont want to give anything away about Deadly Prowl so I will just be vague. I loved the storyline and the performers did a great job. I love mysteries and when you are still not 100% sure who did it by the end, to me, that is good writing. So, write down your clues and good luck figuring it out. Of the six people in our group, we had it narrowed down to three different suspects, with good reasons for each. So again, pay attention to the clues! By the way, I guessed correctly.

I took my wife, daughter, and son-in-law. I purchased the tickets months in advance and the person I spoke with when I purchased them was great but hard to get an answer when calling. I am from out of town and was going to find a hotel but she suggested Marriott Courtyard with a special deal so I booked that also. The day of the event my daughter arrived early and got the boarding tickets early so we did not have to wait. We went to the hotel early and rested then arrived at the train at 5:45 PM. The service was as good as it gets and I am impressed how only two waitress handled the entire car. After reading some of the reviews I was surprised at the spacing, not over crowed at all. I am not into plays but it was fine and I could hear what was said fine. The fruit and cheese on the table was fresh and tasty. The first thing served was a diner roll and it surly needs improvement. Then came the soup which was surely homemade and hot. The salad was nothing to brag on. Everyone at our table chose the prime rib and when it was put on our table I knew I could not eat it all, it was big. Then we had coffee and cheese cake. Had to have a doggie bag as there is no way I could eat it all. After the ride we when to the Marriott and had a great nights sleep at a very nice hotel. The next morning the free breakfast that came with the train ride was fantastic. To some up the trip I would have given it a 5 but there is always room for improvement, start with the bread. I would do this trip again in a heartbeat.

This is a fun railroad ride in a dining car with a dinner theater onboard. The evening train leaves promptly at 6:30. Ride costs are somewhat steep starting over $70 per passenger. The food is ok to mediocre, but not crap. Clientele skew a bit toward the retirees, from all over the nation. Shows change often and there is even Christmas themed shows during the holidays for kids. Beer and wine on board, extra cost. Tips for your waitstaff are not included, and the cast asks for a handout when you are about to de-board the train. A little, unsettling to say the least. If you are a party of two you will be paired with another couple at these four seat tables. Parties of 4 are kept together, but let them know when you reserve so you are kept together. Wheelchair accessible table in our car. Make sure you let them know your needs when you buy your ticket so they can accommodate you. There are 4 dining cars each holding about 40 patrons. Train leaves from Fort Myers by the Lee County Education Administration building. Ample parking and wheelchair ramps. Train saunters up from Fort Myers up to Punta Gourda then pauses for the main course and returns back to the station by about 10pm. We experienced one motion sick passenger who spent the entire trip on a couch by the bathroom. Two bathrooms are provided. Enjoyable experience. This is my second time in 7 years.

Was very excited to take this trip with my daughter and actually booked 3 months in advance. As the time approached for our reservation one of our party could not attend so I called to modify our reservation. I tried calling multiple times with no answer on the reservation line, when I finally reached someone and explained my situation they attempted to refund me a smaller amount than I was due and I even confirmed the correct pricing on their website. While explaining this to the employee I was abruptly hung up on. I called back and learned the name of the employee and again tried to correct the situation but again I was treated rudely and even flat out lied to by this employee. I ended up cancelling the reservation completely thinking I would probably just re-book online and avoid the reservation line. I ended up calling the corporate office to discuss my experience and was connected to the owner of the business. At no point did she ask me what happened she simply refused to believe her employee would behave this way. She dismissed my complaints and made it clear she did not value my business. We will not be booking with this company again and I am awaiting a full refund.
