My (now) husband and I had been together for ten years with two children together by the time we were finally able to afford to have the wedding we had been saving for and deserved. I had my eye on Saxon Manor as our venue for a few years before I actually started planning our wedding. The venue seemed perfect for our rustic vibe and we put down our deposit of $1500 to secure our date. $500 was for securing it with the venue, and $1000 was for securing the vendors. Fast forward a year later, about a month and a half before the date of our wedding. I reached out to Dorothea, the wedding coordinator and owner, by Facebook and then phone explaining that my (then) fiance had just lost his job, I was facing health issues, and we werent sure what to do because we could no longer afford to have our wedding there. I was able to see that Dorothea read my message the same day I sent it, but a week went by and I did not hear back from her at all. Another week went by and we had to book a different venue since our wedding was a month away and I had not heard back. Saxon Manor posted that our date was now available on their Facebook but I still did not receive a reply. She finally called and offered some ways to cut the budget, but by that time we had already booked with a new venue. Although I know we signed a contract, Saxon Manor did not refund a single penny from our deposit, despite knowing our situation. We contacted the vendors we booked through Saxon Manor also explaining the situation to see if they could apply some of the vendor deposits we paid towards the balance so that we could still use them and not lose out on our deposit (we paid $1000 split between 4-5 vendors as a deposit)... Each one said no except Cupcake Heaven. No one was willing to work with us. I was and am extremely disappointed in how I was treated. The staff and vendors have NO contact with the brides until like a month before the wedding. Thats not how planning should be. The vendors/coordinator should be involved and helping you plan each step of the way. There are other venues in Brooksville and nearby areas where I feel that you get more for your money...

i did not end up booking Saxon Manor for my event because of the owner. Dorothea lacks personable, business, and professionalism skills. We met with her on a Wednesday and although she showed no emotion or excitement, we liked the venue itself and made an appointment for the immediately following Sunday to bring our parents and books for our wedding day. When we got there she had no idea who we were, it had only been 3 days and she could not remember she had just met with us. So again we went on the same emotionless tour, with her acting as if we were a new couple despite my attempts to jog her memory. When it came time to sign, I was putting together the package we wanted and negotiating for the price we thought was fair. Im in the wedding industry and know the cost of vendors, I understand kickbacks when a venue provides an all inclusive package like Saxon Manor. However, while researching the vendors you have to choose from, the quality is poor for the price they charge. So we wanted to bring in a few of our own that were important, which they say they allow and they will take an amount off the package. Dont expect it to be much, obviously they want you to use theirs which I get but what they offer to take off is almost a joke. Dorothea reacted as if nobody ever negotiated with her, she kept leaving the room to call her husband and finally came back in saying it was too much for her and she couldnt handle it. My family and I are very nice people and we were trying to keep the mood light but also wanted a good price, we were even compromising and said we would meet in the middle. After she said she couldnt handle it, I was shocked. If you cant handle contract negotiation then how can you handle planning my wedding? So we left, when booking your wedding venue you want someone inviting and excited to host such a special day. I would say keep looking if you want a more tailored and enthusiastic experience.

Absolutely stunning venue. If you are a prospective bride reading this ask questions. Ask questions. Ask questions. Be thorough in making sure you know what is included in the package and get in touch with your vendors early. Stay on top of all of your vendors and wedding coordinator. This venue is fairly new and I feel the staff are still learning the ropes on how to make your wedding day go smoothly and just the way you want it. My wedding day was hectic but my coordinator was there for me during the ceremony and reception. She made sure I had a drink and dinner. The staff will only get better from where they are today.

I can not express how much we loved every detail of our wedding. The food provided by Saxon was delicious, the DJ Rachel was engaging, the wedding planner Stephanie had everything handled down to the finest detail and moment, our photographers Rhonda, Dennis and Kym phenomenal, the Cake made by Amy was gorgeous and delicious, the photo booth entertained from ages 3 to 83, the bar tender who kept the beer, wine and soft drinks coming,the cozy fire pit with smores for young and old, and last but not least Dorathea who from day one was kind, engaging, and put all the pieces together to make our day the best ever.

Saxon manor was absolutely the best people and venue , we had a party for one of our employees , and the garden room gave a beautiful feel and made our party complete,, the whole staff at Saxon manor was amazing and followed Thur with everything they promised !!! My husband and I had our anniversary here and we enjoyed it so much so that were are planning it here every year. Now I dont understand why people post negative remarks about Ms. Dorthea unless they are purposely trying to sabotage her business. She is very sweet and easy to work with. Ok everyone I cant wait until next year!

If I could give no star I would. I did not book my wedding here because of the owner. Not the husband but the wife is absolutely abnoxous and rude! The husband was sweet and understood my situation bit the wife wanted no part of listening to my situation. I would never come back here again!

I completely fell in love with this place. It is a piece of Heaven. The food was great, the staff were always attending to us, the DJ rocked, the photo booth was nice & clean and I couldnt have asked for a better atmosphere. Thank you so much Saxon Manor!

Wonderful experience! Gorgeous venue! Accommodating and organized owners dedicated to making everything run smoothly! My (now) husband and I are vegan, and were so pleased with their flexibility with the menu!!

Im surprised to see negative comments in the reviews from people that never had there wedding event held at Saxon Manor. Makes no sense at all. We highly recommend this place they are awesome.
