Words cant express what Hidden River has done for my husband, Mike & I. From the first email I sent inquiring about the venue & services until the end of our reception, the staff took care of us and made us feel like we were apart of their family. "Staff" doesnt even seem an appropriate word for the people we worked with over the months leading up to our wedding. Everyone-- Jeanne(#1 & #2!), Grace, Cynthia, Jesse, Valentine, Anne....I mean EVERYONE that was involved in our wedding was so kind, warm, approachable, flexible, and professional. They took care of everything that needed to be done and were on top of their game....they did their jobs so well, but even more than that, they felt like family while they did it. We went with their Mountain Elegance Package which utilized all of their preferred vendors (flowers, photography, DJ, dinner, cake, etc) and were thrilled with the results. The food for the rehearsal and reception as well as out cakes (all prepared by Anne, their preferred caterer) are still being talked about (a month after our wedding)! We took advantage of the engagement photo session with Jesse Kitt, included in our package, and we instantly fell in love with Jesse. Her work is amazing and we felt so comfortable the whole time we worked with her. My husband and I live in Cleveland, OH & Jeanne, the owner & our Officiant was kind enough to let us stay on the property in one of the on-site houses over Thanksgiving several months before our wedding so that we could do the engagement session with Jesse-- things like this set HR apart from other Wedding Venues-- its not all about the money and business for them (though they do run an excellent business!).... its truly about the people they work with and their love for what they do. Jeannes officiant services were exactly what we wanted-- she provides you with so many options and ideas of things to include in your ceremony and truly listens to what you want & then delivers. All of our guests said that our ceremony was so true to us as a couple and many said it was the most authentic, beautiful ceremony theyd ever seen. Grace, the venues wedding planner, is an incredibly sweet woman and so responsive to any questions or requests we had throughout planning. She always made me feel calm and honored. Cynthia, the florist was also incredibly responsive to our ideas and created stunning arrangements that were exactly what we wanted. Theres also on-site housing for 3 nights for up to 50 guests, which was so great to have-- though not as luxurious as a nice hotel, the places were comfortable and so convenient-- our guests raved about how great it was to stay onsite. We were able to host a whole wedding weekend at a great price, having field games outside, our rehearsal dinner, and a bonfire during the days/nights leading up to our wedding. I could just write on and on about the incredible experience we had with HR, but Ill stop now. If you love the outdoors and have a rustic style, do yourself a favor and have your wedding here-- we couldnt have asked for a better place to start our married life together & we are already planning our next trip down to visit!

We were married at Hidden River on June 7th 2014, and we still have guests telling us what a fun and beautiful wedding it was! If you are planning a destination wedding, Hidden River is a great venue to consider, because many of the vendors are included in the price (but can be removed if you prefer). This made remotely planning the wedding much easier. Jeanne and Grace were very helpful throughout the planning process. There were times that it took a while to get questions answered, but for most important matters we received responses quickly. The venue is absolutely gorgeous- when looking for venues we wanted one where our ceremony would have a mountain backdrop, which we had here. Hidden River is only 10-15 minutes away from downtown Asheville. They also have a deal with the Holiday Inn only 2 miles away from the venue, where most of our guests stayed because of the great price they offered on our room block. There is housing on the venue which is included with any Saturday wedding (for nights Thursday-Saturday). These were a good option for our families, but may not be for everyone since the houses are a little older. One of the houses had a pool table which some of the guests loved one night. Hidden River was very helpful by letting me and my husband stay in the houses early (on the Wednesday before our wedding), and for giving us extra sheets since we had different people staying in rooms different nights. Just about anything extra we asked of Hidden River, they were happily able to accommodate for us! We also had a day-after brunch on one of the house’s huge patio, which offers a beautiful view of the mountains. There was no extra charge for Hidden River to supply us with tables, chairs, and tablecloths set up for the brunch caterer to use. This was a great ending to our wonderful wedding week. Hidden River assists in letting you customize your wedding to fit your vision. The florist included with Hidden River did a great job listening to what we wanted and making it happen (I wanted sunflowers, which it was not quite season yet, but she made it happen and we had gorgeous bouquets and centerpieces). The horse drawn carriage for the bride’s entrance and the couple’s exit after ceremony (that is included with this venue) was so special, I would have never normally looked for this in my wedding, but since it was included we used it and I am so glad we did! Hidden River lets you buy and bring in your beer, wine, and liquor, which their bartenders will serve- this saved us a lot, compared to other venues that make you buy all the alcohol from them. We only had minor issues (had a bad experience with the transportation company that they recommended to us but we let them know not to recommend them again, the communication at times, we didn’t have any of our cake saved for us for after the wedding- but we never requested this ahead of time), but overall we are extremely happy we chose Hidden River.

Our wedding at Hidden River Events on June 7th, 2013 was absolutely perfect. Working with Jeanne and Grace made our wedding day even better than we ever dreamed possible. From the heartfelt and personalized ceremony, the delicious food, the great music, the beautiful tent, and the sweet horse-drawn carriage by Dr. Love, everything was amazing. James and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this wedding venue and we couldnt have pictured a more incredible day. Jeanne and Grace talked with us frequently throughout the months leading up to our big day and made sure our visions became reality. They answered all of our questions and we never had any concerns! We were relaxed and comfortable knowing that we were well-taken care of and our wedding would be fantastic. As we were both very busy medical students, having the option to choose the "rustic chic" wedding package took all the stress out of planning. We never thought the process was stressful at all, thanks to Jeanne and Grace! We never had to worry about finding and coordinating the officiant, caterer, photographer, cake baker, florist, and DJ, because Jeanne and Grace did all that hard work for us! Having a package let us focus on the fun aspects of preparing for our big day, like choosing our cake flavor, deciding on what flowers we wanted, writing our vows, finding "the dress", and even gave us spare time to make some of our own decorations! Weve received so many compliments about every aspect of our wedding from our guests and it truly was the very best day of our lives. We recently went back to Hidden River for our one year anniversary to renew our vows. We absolutely love Hidden River and we plan to make it a tradition to return there for our major anniversaries for vow renewals.
