I love the building and the performers--the management and service are terrible! I got one drink at the beginning of the evening before it was crowded and left my credit card to start a tab--HUGE mistake. Later, during the main act I attempted to get another drink. I waited 20 minutes at the bar (with no progress toward getting my drink) when I wanted to be out enjoying my evening. I decided to try back later and just get my card back, but same thing happened later too. Another problem was the sound. The sound man had the kick drums and bass instruments up so loud that I could hardly hear the vocals and other instruments. After all the frustration with getting my credit card back and the noise, we left and went to the Nomad Jazz Bar (highly recommended) for a drink and to hear some quality music at a proper volume level. We returned to WCL to see if I could get my credit card back--another 15 minute wait (with a much thinner crowd) and I finally had it. You guys should sell your beer in vending machines--The service would be so much superior!

First time at this venue. This is about my 100th different concert and I have to say, I was really happy with the venue. Beers were reasonable, pizza downstairs was actually very good and relatively inexpensive. It was sold out an my friend and I were right up front. A lady with her 9yr old attending his first show were behind me. I figured the kid was too short to see anything there, so I let him stand right up against the barrier when the show started and blocked him from the crowd. My hats off to the security, especially Troy, who kept checking to see if he was OK. Later he let him go over the barrier to sit and watch the show from the area between the crowd and the stage. Lead singer Neil Fallon gave the kid a shout out and handed him a pick and the setlist during the show. It was a night that kid and his mom will never forget. The staff helped make it possible. I would definitely go there again.

In the year since it opened the Queen has turned from a beautifully-designed music venue into mismanaged pit. A group of friends and I purchased tickets to a February 11 dinner show with seating starting at 7:00, and we arrived shortly after the doors opened. The venue had oversold the show and instead of being seated at a table on the main floor, we were funneled into the balcony area where there was no food service and a closed bar. Some of our group missed most of the show attempting to get drinks and a few appetizers from the main bar area. We finally got a few appetizers (cold) after 1.5 hours of trying. We asked to see the manager (Ryan we were told) but gave up waiting for him after waiting over a half an hour. What a waste of a good evening. I will be contacting the theater for a refund -- if I can ever find a manager to talk to.

Great venues upstairs and down. As a musician you wont find anywhere thats as clean as this place. Everything is immaculate. The staff go beyond to accommodate the guests/artists as well. The food is good. I usually eat after load-in and theres always something good on the menu that wont make me feel gross did wont leave the microphone disgusting for whoever is up next. The bar is superb. Top notch bartenders (Reid!) and knowledgeable staff. Surprisingly good beers on tap and they rotate the selection pretty frequently. Parking is a cinch because there is a lot directly aside to the venue. $5 parking. Cant beat it. Theres also parking on Market St. thats usually open as well. All-in-all its a glorious place. The accommodations exceed anything Ive ever experienced as a musician. Hopefully more national acts recognize this venue.

Hamilton Swan is correct as we went through the same experience. The music / open mike night was great. The food - average at best, the staff - horrible, slow, ignorant, getting a beer took forever even if the place was half-empty. We had a group of eight and one guy showed up 20-30 mins later, got a beer then no one even bother to take his order. Told them to take his order but still nothing. Ordered a RARE steak and got a MEDIUM WELL (did not bother to eat). No one bothered to come and apologize to the guy who was sitting there hungry. Asked for the manager to tell them about how horrible it was and waited, waited, no one showed up, and so left. Glad this is my first and last time there. What a joke and the one star is for the music / open mike night.

This is the best place in Wilmington to listen to live music period! Ive been to open mic night, Blues night, 80 dance night, and have seen numerous shows. The Bob Marley Reggae night with Spokey Speaky last week was kickass, it was packed! The hotties were out in force! People were dancing, drinking, having a good time. So dont listen to the dead beats below, If its taking to long to get your drink, walk up to the Bar and get it, its only twenty feet away plus theres another Bar upstairs! Sure, its not a a 5 star restaurant, how many concert halls are? Ever eat at the Electric Factory in Philly! Chriss jazz club! There not all that great! Its XPN live at the Queen! This is the only place we have people, so support it and the ARTS!

Hated it- loved the band that I saw! Food stunk! Not only was my food freezing cold- but took over an hour to get it. Not to mention one person at our table never even got their food. When we told the waitress that we were missing the food, she said, "Oh, well the kitchen is closed now." What is that crap! To bad its not a BYOB, cause it took 50 mins to get one round of drinks. SHould have known to order two rounds at once...who knows how long that would have takin! HAHA! I will NEVER go back, nor will I recommend.

Great theater with some great talent booked to perform there. I have seen 10-15 shows and usually have great seats but even the back of the house seating is good. Ive dined there several times and the food is fair, not great. The beer has gone down in recent visits as both the tap selection and the quality of the beer has declined. Gone are the adventurous brands and in are the Stella, Sam Adams, and other big brands. Also the last beer I had, the beer was bad, dirty lines maybe. Still, a great place to see a show.

The music can be great or bad. But the service is lacking. I had to ask 3 times to get our table cleared of dirty dishes from the last people sitting there. My husband is one of the top entertainers in the tri state area and was not paid accurately for the number of peope who came to his concert. Since the concert other bands have come to him to also complain about being cheated. Something should be done so the bands get the correct amount per person coming through the door. It is very poorly managed.
