If you are looking for a taste of old fashioned entertainment meets Colorado lifestyle than look no further. This was my first experience with The Oriental Theater and it wont be my last. I had only read reviews of the venue before buying tickets to see The Rail Splitters and The Steeldrivers. I ended up giving them a 5 star rating because the overall experience was top notch. We got there early and enjoyed some beers during sound check and met most of the staff and all of the bands. Crazy how friendly and laid back the place was. Let me start with the owners - Great guys. They dont over manage their venue. They let you enjoy it. Yes the building is old, but the character of the theater is priceless. The 1920s charm of the venue really reminds you of better days, when you dressed up to attend the theater and it was a privilege to be there. Drinks were cheap, easy to get, and not far from hand. Two bars in this small of a theater really makes it nice to leave your seat and grab a drink and not stand in line for 20 minutes missing all your favorite songs. The mens restroom had no lines, and the womens was a short wait (Not far from the bar and a new drink to enjoy while in line). The only drawbacks of the whole night - 1. The sound guy was new... So any of his mistakes can easily be corrected with some more training and experience (he was sick and missed a training last week I was told). He managed to solve most of the issues in a matter of two or three songs. 2. The venue is kinda run down but not in a dirty or dingy way - The bathrooms were clean, the seating areas were clean, the floors looked clean. But this is an old venue and its hard to turn a large enough profit these days to keep the vintage style and look up to its original standards. It really made me feel more at ease and I sat back and enjoyed the show. Im a sucker for the old theaters of our past. Lastly, I highly recommend you attend an event here. This will forever be a great memory of a great concert. I attend over 50 events a year and rarely am I this satisfied with a venue. The Oriental Theater is a must. Meet the staff, enjoy the show, leave with many memories.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Good sound quality, friendly staff and great atmosphere. Bathrooms are frighteningly small, I leaned forward and my head touched the stall door, and Im not particularly tall. But that was the only negative in an otherwise wonderful night. I like the fact that they have ample seating available as well as standing room. Ill be back should the opportunity arise!

Saw Leon Russell here tonight. The place is great venue with a fantastic staff of people. Every seat and standing room has great visibility of the stage. After the excellent show meet Andy the owner outside. Fantastic guy with a great friendly personality. Patronize the Theater whenever you can to help compete against all the mega-corporation venues in Denver. Thanks Andy. Rob

Caught the premier of "The World Has No Idea" last week and aside from having an incredible experience, Id like to note that the Orientals got some of the most professional staff Ive ever seen working a show. They werent obnoxiously dismissive or outright aggressive like the staff at many other venues and I even saw a few heads bobbing to the music. Give those guys a raise!

The Oriental Theater is my favorite place in the whole entire world!!!!!!! Most awesome staff, coolest performances, most excellent endeavor to entertain and enlighten the beautiful music/art/culture-hungry people of (my favorite city in the world) Denver. Always something unique and excellent, always a wonderful time.

Another one of Denvers cool theater I WS going to this place 25 years ago there is a new Owner bringing in new acts all the time they could have at least a couple more less expensive drinks on the menu for us people paying the high rents without the high paying job so we could actually party a little more while there

No better place in Denver to experience a live performance or event. A slice of Denver heritage preserved to transport you back in time. Consider taking Uber there and back to take full advantage of amazing bar. Use promocode uberjonnyride and your first ride is free (up to $30).

I really like this place, they have a friendly staff, nice drink selection, great location. The only negative is if you wanna dance, better get within 3 of the stage. It has a pretty good slope up toward the seating area and makes it tricky to bust a move after a few cocktails.

Pros: Cool old theater. Nerd Nite had interesting topics. B.Y.O.Food Cons: Would have been nice for the web site to mention the B.Y.O.F. Only order beer or wine. Mixed drinks are not like getting a cocktail. I didnt know you could make a bad rum and Coke.

A sort of crumbly beautiful. This place should always be packed. Check out blues night! It is a great venue whether you like to lounge or shake it. Such a friendly bar staff. Tiny restrooms...but hopefully you dont have to spend a ton of time there.

I always enjoy seeing a show at the Oriental. Yes, it is an older theater, which gives it character. Not a bad spot in the place, no obstruction of show, fair prices, and the staff is SO AWESOME. Support these independent theaters please!!

The staff was incredible. We showed up a little after the show began needing handicapped spaces, and were blown away by how helpful and courteous the staff was. Definitely made the night a ton better. And the show was great!

Beautiful theatre with an awesome staff. Went there for a screening of my buddies film and man it was great. Tables and tall chairs along worth the theater seating. Overall a great place to have drinks and a movie!

Nice theater built in the heyday and brought back to life recently. The murals inside are wonderful. Great place to see a show or a movie. Plenty of seating for shows too. Good bar service in the sitting areas too.

This is one of the few surviving things from the old Denver that I remember from my youth. The staff is friendly. It has an intimate vibe and its always a good time every time I have seen a show or played here.

I love The Oriental. A local favorite. Its a tiny venue, but it has history and I have seen some amazing people play here. The bars serve good drinks, pricey, but good. This place is just, cool, always has been.
