I went with my husband to bowl with a gift certificate I had received for my birthday. The staff was extremely rude and unaccommodating, and we couldnt get service unless we wasted precious bowling time waiting for drinks at the bar from the bartender, who kept assuring us someone was indeed supposed to be helping us from the lanes. At one point a waitress did show up and said, "I was told you were looking for me?" in a VERY rude and hostile manner. We had literally just gotten back with fresh drinks from the bar and told her as much, and she stalked away angrily in a visible huff. Whoa. She was more than happy to bring our tab though until she saw I was paying with a gift certificate, which you cant leave a tip on, and became very rude and abrupt again. I had no intention of tipping her though because she was so mean and didnt do anything, let alone her JOB! I did however, pull out a $20 bill which I handed directly to the bartender with a thanks for taking care of us. Also, since the bowling is timed and we had to spend so much time getting our own drinks and such, we were shut off right in the middle of a game. When we requested more time to finish up the game they parceled out a measly ten additional minutes which didnt cut it. Long story short, this is only the tip of the iceberg of what we experienced not even mentioning a host of other problems, and we left red-faced, hot and indignant. Then, when someone tried to FINALLY be friendly and wish us a good night as we were exiting we basically told him it had been a horrible experience and we would never be coming back (only not as nicely worded as that). So yes, we wont be going back there and if anyone ever asks if we know the place or if we want to join them there, we always say no and beg whomever it is to spread the word to boycott and not bring any new business to them. We are Denver natives and absolutely hate the thought a place like this exists in our beloved town when it seems to belong way more in L.A. or New York where people are used to that sort of treatment. From now on we will stick to places tried and true.

I went to punch bowl to meet with a group of people and play games and realized I had forgotten my ID when the security guy asked for it. I asked to talk with the manager, after the security guy let me through to talk to him, I told him if it would be OK to just play games with my friends and not order any drinks. He told me it was fine so I went in to find my friends. Once inside the security guy seemed angry to see me and without even saying a word, (even though he knew I talked to the manager) he jerked me from the back of the neck, with such a grip there was no way of breaking free and was forced toward the door. He let me go after we were outside. I was so pist about what he did I didnt even want to start the conversation about how the manager had given me permission. I debated calling the cops but without my ID I realized Id probably end up losing here. So I called the manager as I was heading home and explained the situation. He sounded calm and understanding as well as apologetic. He asked for my address and said he would send me a 50 dollar gift certificate for punch bowl. After about a few weeks of waiting and calling to ask if he sent it I was confirmed it was but still nothing. I reconfirmed the address, a few more weeks go by and nothing. They obviously didnt care, took no action in fixing the situation and thought I would just forget about it or give up. I was still angry and hurt about the situation so I decided to walk in and talk to a manager myself. This time I got a girl and she seemed annoyed and treated me as if I was lying. She didnt even care about what had happened to me there. After cutting me off as Im telling her the story she agreed to give me the 50 dollar certificate. Somehow I still dont feel like they fixed the problem so Im leaving my story as their review. Welcome to Punch Bowl.

After the Big Lots closed and the building was empty for so long, I was really excited for something great to come in. But I am BEYOND DISAPPOINTED. Firstly, the food is mediocre but if you love paying way too much for mediocre great for you. There are a ton of places in 1-2 blocks in any direction down there that are way better and way less expensive. The drinks are also way too expensive. And their beer selection is pretty scarce. Nothing exciting, nothing challenging. Secondly, yes, there are tons of games and things to do, BUT to do one of these things will cost you more than your meal and drinks. Plus, something always seems to be broken... Thirdly, the staff is horrible. Completely unorganized and seem to hate their job but I would too if I was them (see point Four). It takes forever to get your food, the hostesses never really seem to know where to seat you (even in the middle of the day when it is slow), and the servers are curt. Fourthly, the weekend night scene will give you PTSD, particularly if you are used to the other neighborhood haunts. The line is usually out the door and down the length of the building. At least. And then there are a ton of taxis, drunk drivers, etc trying to maneuver getting around on Broadway. The sound is deafening, parking impossible, and entrance a slim chance. You would probably have a better chance of getting into some downtown club at the same time with the other douches. If you come to Broadway for good food, good prices, relaxed atmosphere, and great drinks, DO NOT come here. It is not worth your time and I honestly hope the fad dies out and this place doesnt make it. It is a scar on the neighborhood. KEEP LODO OUT OF SOBO!!

PBS is a cool, rad place to be, but dont expect to actually partake in what they have to offer--which is what takes this awesome place to kind of a bummer to go to. Ive gone more than once to try to give the place a shot and while the food and service are good, in all the times Ive been, Ive never been able to actually using the bowling, which is what the place is all about! Everytime Ive gone, the place has been riddled with private parties. Either they take all the lanes so the "regular people" have to wait hours for one (and leave b/c whats the point if thats whats happening, just go to a bowling alley instead) and/or the upstairs and other areas with the games are blocked off. One night, in the middle of the week no less, no lanes were available, the upstairs was closed off, and the darts/ping pong area was closed off--leaving just a few arcade games, shuffleboard and skee ball for everyone else in the entire restaurant. Not why we took out out of town friends there and I was super disappointed. I rarely write reviews on places and waited until Id gone here several times to see if this would repeat and it did. Ive never been able to do anything there but eat and Ive been disappointed everytime even though the food is tasty and the service good, I want the whole PBS experience and cant seem to be provided it.
