Let me start by saying that when we pulled up to the window that they have signs everywhere that say if you are rude to staff youll be kicked out with no refund. The theater is split by parking spaces and you are assigned a space based on the size of your vehicle. White in the very front, blue behind the white, orange behind blue and red in the very back. My mother was driving her 2009 Dodge Ram 1500, us a 2003 Honda Pilot and my sister an Acura Integra. The girl at the window sent my mother to the very back row because she said she was driving an over sized vehicle and she sent us to the orange section because we are considered an SUV. My sister was sent to the white section. When I asked the girl at the window if it was possible for my sister to park with us the girl was completely rude and told us we have to go to our color and that we will get kicked out if we disobey. The rules being broadcast over the radio said we had to remain with our car and were not allowed to sit outside of our car in chairs. My mother went to speak with Management because that defeated the purpose of family time. While I wasnt there to witness the event basically the owner told her if she didnt like it she could get out and that she was rude to the window girl. So when the parking lot attendant came I decided to stop and ask him how we could complain about the service we had received. He tried to be polite but it was obvious he didnt care. He told me that hed had numerous complaints about the window girls and hed talk to them. When I mentioned the event with my mother he said that the owner could do whatever she wanted and that " Shes [the owner] mad at your Mother because she was rude to staff [window girl] and thats why shes threatening to kick her out." I explained that those providing customer service should never "Be mad" at customers and use that as an excuse to treat them poorly. He said I was right but then he told us that they provide 2 movies for $12 a person and that we just need to behave. Excuse me? He repeated this like a recording until we finally dropped the issue. When I brought up that there were vehicles larger than my mothers in the orange parking places he said that spaces are divided by height and they stand by what the window girls decide. When I pointed out that there were 4 other Honda Pilots in the Blue rows while our Pilot had been placed in the orange row he shrugged and said they wont change it. I walked around the parking lot and took photos of the other Pilots in the Blue rows and ours in the Orange. The only difference I saw between those customers and us was the color of our skin. By the time the movie started we were in the orange row with a Chevy Suburban (because thats smaller than a Pilot) and another Honda Pilot parked in front of us in the blue row. The restrooms were horrendous. We held it. The snack bar was dirty and had an exceptionally rude cashier that I suspect was the "owner". There are no speakers and their broadcasting system is below par. Most of the movie sound was static filled and some portions you couldnt even hear because of the static. The screen is small and with the Suburban parked in front of us we saw only portions of the screen. Youre not allowed to sit on top of your car because it blocks others views, nor sit in lawn chairs because they block the aisles. There were so many you cannots that they would have saved paper, time and energy to tell you what you were allowed to do instead. In addition to this we looked up public records on this drive in, mainly to see who to write a letter of complaint to and to see if others had shared experiences. We found numerous health department violations, many of which were considered critical, against the snack bar and restrooms. Well never go back and this place is only ten minutes from my house. I love drive ins and it saddens me to see them disappearing but this place needs to be wiped off the map. $12 per person? You can see 3 or 4 movies at Elvis cinemas for that price.

I really wish that the 88 Drive-in would do something about the annoying lighting behind the screen. The light pollution behind the screen ruins any dark movies which they show a lot of them here. If youre watching a bright kids movie here it is good, anything else like comic book movies, horror flick, etc, etc it is hard to see they should really talk to business like the Lowes warehouse behind about shutting their lights off at night or they should invest in building something to block out the light. Its almost not worth going here at all because of that. The only reason to go here is how cheap the movies are and for a nostalgic throw back, otherwise this place is a miss if you want to watch movies and see them clearly if they have a lot of dark scenes. People that come here have down syndrome and come with their lights on in the middle of features without any consideration for people who are watching the current feature just because they only want to watch that second flick. The staff is partially to blame for this, they should be telling people who come in to have their lights off except their idiot lights. However, I doubt they say anything. The next best option is to not let anyone in at all during features playing. I never buy from the snack bar because it is way too over priced, I understand that this is how they make back their money as they dont make much profit if any off the movie tickets, however, increase the ticket price a tad more and make some upgrades. You are better off buying food and bringing it such as making it a Pizza night, etc. I generally get Little Caesars hot n readys and bring some sodas which cost less than their "meal deal". This year and last every time I have went which I only go on Monday-Thursdays because it is too over crowded with people on weekends that I will never go, it always smells like cigarette and weed smoke dependent on which way the wind is blowing, that is not ok for a family friendly oriented place where kids are. They should have a 0 tolerance policy for that as they used to with alcoholic beverages. Lastly if you want to avoid crowds plan it on a weekday Monday-Thursday on a non holiday weekday you can park where ever you want generally without being told to move. I usually park in the back near the restrooms & snack bar in my car without much hindrance and anyone by me.

I took my wife out to see a movie for the first time at this Drive In theater. I had a truck so I had to park in the back of the parking lot smaller cars get to park closer to the screen. That was strike 1. When it got darker the lights from the business came on about 20 lights shining behind the screen. Strike 2 the screen was so dark you couldnt see the sreen clearly the lights were so bright you could focus on the screen. I told the gate attendant she said you can move up as long as your not blocking anyone. We moved but the closer you got the brighter the lights became. I told the Manager the movie was to dark and I couldnt see the movie because of all the lights. We were only 15 minutes into the movie so I asked for a refund. The lady called the manager and I told her my problem and she said we dont give refunds. I was pissed off you could tell how crappie the screen was until after the movie started. I lost 16 dollars. Doesnt sould like alot of money. I wish I had read the reviews before coming here. Strike 3. So lets critic everything I saw. First the bathroom looked like something out of a horror movie. Second the concession stand was full of flies the popcorn is already placed in containers out in the open. Third the screen is way to small for the size of the parking lot. Fourth the projectior sucks movie to dark and not clear. Fifth there are more than 20 plus lights shining in your face no matter were you park in the direction of the screen. Sixth The pizza was like cardboard. Seventh the customer is always right especially after so many review have been written about screen and lights. Plus a customer should be able to get a refund. I will never return to the DriveIn plus I will tell everyone I know and talk to how crappie it is. It would have been cheaper for that manager to give me a refund. So Dont waste your time or money at this business. Billy
