I was really looking forward to my stay here - I had an absolutely awful flight into san jose and unfortunately it didnt get better when I got to the hotel. When I arrived they had canceled my reservation because I was "no show" for the first night (flight from SLC was canceled and I wound up stranded over night). I booked through orbitz, who had emailed me letting me know they had checked me in and guaranteed my room. Luckily they had spare rooms and put me up in one - none of them were ready. I dropped my bags off and headed out while they prepped my room. Coming back later that night I was informed that the A/C was broken throughout the hotel - but that it was ok and I could have a 15$ credit to the restaurant in the lobby. They told me they would bring a fan up to my room to help with the heat... it was just shy of 100 every day this week and my room was HOT. The windows only open 2-3" inches so its not even like that could help - and the fan they brought is about 6" in diameter and moves about as much air as me flapping a t-shirt around. The room it self is quite nice - but for the three days Ive been here my room hasnt dropped below 80 degrees. For the price I paid to stay here, that really sucks. Oh - and the internet. The internet is completely garbage. Theres no password on it - and its SLOW. Kilobytes slow... talking 130KBPS download and 400 up... that is by far the worst internet I have used in 5 years. In the middle of san jose, bay area, tech center of the world - and I cant even get 1/4 mb download? Dialup is 56k.. their internet is literally only a few times faster than dialup internet... come on. Once again - if this was a cheap hotel I could understand... but its not. Oh and when I used my credit at the restaurant - that wasnt great either. The food was ok - but the service was awful.

I recommend that no one stays in this hotel because when I went to Fanimecon Me and my friends stayed there and our stay was very negative because the staff at the front desk are sorry to say this idiots because they do not know how to provided correct information and customer service or any sort of help. All they do is just take your money and thats it. Also the rooms are very high in price for the type of service and it looks like that hotel intentionally put white carpet in there rooms so just in case something spilled accidently they can just charge your credit card with out informing you. Also I would not recommend to buy booze or anything like beer because they again charge your credit card for using there mini fridge even though you did not touch the damn thing. Lastly the management is the worst because I almost got into a fight with the AM( assistant Manager)jerk for being rude, smart mouth, and pretty much calling me and idiot because it was about my security deposit; this hotel lies about your security deposit one person tells one thing the other another thing so dont expect your deposit to be returned soon, and to make matters worst the actual hotel manager is no help at all all she does is not resolve the issue since she never picks up her calls from her own guest about issues. SO I really dont recommend this hotel trust me.

My friend and I traveled to San Jose from Reno to watch the Sharks play in game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals. Traffic was a awful, so we arrived at the Hotel De Anza 30 minutes before the game started. When we checked in at the front desk we were informed that I had accidentally booked the room for the following weekend, and that there were no rooms available. So there we were in the lobby panicked and frustrated. Thinking we were going to be very late to the game and debating if we should find another hotel or just sleep in the car. Portia, the front desk agent, did something we will never forget. She said "dont worry guys, I got you!". She called another hotel right down the street on our behalf. Luckily they had one room left! She reserved the room, gave us directions, and hi-fives as we left her hotel. Portia went way above and beyond her job description to accommodate us. Because of Portia we were able to get to the game on time and not have to sleep in the car! I will from now on exclusively stay at the Hotel De Anza when Im in San Jose. Portia, if you are reading this, thank you so much! Your considerate personality totally saved us!

I recently had occasion to eat at the restaurant in the hotel. When my party arrived it was very quiet but after we were seated it filled up quickly. As a result I think they were very much understaffed. We never got a server to come to our table. The hostess ended up being our server. She took orders, delivered our meals, cleaned up the table and brought us our check. It was very busy and one of our dinners did not come until the rest of us had finished eating. Another member of our party arrived late and even though the hostess brought her a menu she never came back to take her order. We ended up sharing our food with her. While they were clearly understaffed and our service experience was not great, our hostess/server did her best doing the job of at least 2 people. She was very apologetic and comped our appetizer and drinks. She also offered dessert on the house but we were on our way to a concert at SAP and did not have time. Our food was still delicious and the hostess made the best of a bad situation. We definitely appreciated her efforts on our behalf.

Dont understand all those positives reviews. I arrived at 12pm, to be told no room will be available before 3pm. The receptionist told me he would call me when a room would be ready. I sat 2 meters away from the receptionist to wait, watching a movie. After a few moments, I see a couple of ppl going to check-in. Was not sure, I thought they were maybe checking0out or something else. After a few persons, I went to reception and asked if those guys were checking in and he said yes... I asked for a room that he gave me. Went to the room, the air con was doing the worst sound ever! Went to change room, so had to wait again. They offered me lunch ,which was very good. Went to the second room, still very noisy (not as bad as the first one but still enough to prevent you from sleeping). But then, theres hair in the shower! So really bad experience, and wont be coming back! (I still have to spend 2 nights here, unfortunately)

Older decor , but it was kind of amusing . Im a 90s baby and i dont remember the decor looking like this in the 90s but its fun . The lobby is nice . The employees are immaculate . Very professional and friendly which is a HUGE plus . You dont want to be greeted with half ass smiles or half ass service after a long day at the airport . Offered fruits and cookies upon check in . Enjoyed my stay . Rooms are very spacious. Beds are comfortable. Clean. Lots of privacy . All of my amenities worked just fine. I just dont like that when i extended my stay for one night extra the girl at the front desk insisted i check in AGAIN . The card on file should be good enough , especially if i havent charged anything to my room .. I travel VERY often and usually hotels just confirm over the phone and do not bug you . They need to update that somehow. But that would be the only downside .
