IBAA/VH1 Lions of Sacramento held a golf tournament at Summitpointe Golf Club on Sep 26, 2015 and the following were observations made by our sponsors and players alike: The entire golf club staff, particularly Eric Guerrero was most helpful with setting up registration and post game dinner award tables, banners,and carts signage. He was most supportive and indulgent in figuring out the players individual scores based on the Callaway scoring system. The after game deluxe grill buffet dinner that was catered by Summitpointes Lakeview Banquet chefs was a flavorful fusion of tri-tip beef and chicken together with fresh green salad, which on a whole was an affordable sumptuous spread. The club services, by and large was superb and highly commendable. The players comments on the state of the golf course itself were a mixture of "its a difficult layout", "some fairways have a lot of brown grass" to "perfect and yet fast greens", challenging terrain" and "picturesque location". Overall, the sponsoring group is more than pleased that their tournament was held at this course so much so that, likely will hold their next one there again as well as recommend Summitpointe Golf Club as a venue to other clubs considering a fund raising tournament.

In the summer, this course is average. We played a round yesterday where it rained the night before. The course was not good...muddy, slippery, fairway bumpy with lots of holes. Worse, no shoe cleaners at the ball washers, so cannot clean off the mud buildup at the soles of our shoes. We used to love the breakfast / lunch deal at $29.90. But management started to raise price to $34.50, and cannot have Gatoraids for drinks (canned beer ok but no Gatoraids. Love the cheese burgers though.). We normally bring 8 or 12 golfer friends with us. So this deal does not look so good after the changes. We will likely think twice before coming back especially with wet weather. There are lots of other courses in the Valley that we play.

I played there on Feb. 22, 2016. It was my first visit and I played with rented clubs. With my own clubs, I am about a 14 index. This course is a great layout. It requires that you be able to locate shots, but is not what I would call punishing. The fairways were in very good condition and the greens were true. I am sure that playing conditions would be different in mid summer, but it seemed the layout required course management rather than trying to grip it and rip it on every hole. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I played as a single and was matched up with some very good players who made the day enjoyable. I recommend this course for a good challenge that requires using more of the clubs in your bag

You couldnt tell from the looks of this course that weve had biggest rainfall since 93. The fairways are completely burnt and rock hard the only green on this course is the greens. I would call this not much more than a cow pasture. 30 dollar course at best until they get their water issues resolved.

I just played here today. The back nines were closed for today. There were not many players and the staffs were friendly. However, the fairway were not in good condition. The grass was not even. Some parts of the fairway were even the bare ground. Was much different from the pictures in its website.

This course is an absolute disaster. Fairways are mostly dirt and dead. The whole course appears to be completely unmaintained. Its an interesting layout, but is in such bad condition that it makes it virtually unplayable. You can find yourself a much better course for a similar price.

Challenging course (slope rating 125) with a great view over the city on a few holes. Hard to provide a fair judgement on the grounds since I played during summer while the CA drought was at its peak, but really enjoyed the course layout. All around, worth a round for sure!

Greens are not slippery and tough anymore. The greens are not cut on most Mondays and Thursdays.When they do cut them...........its 9 on the stimpmeter. Very, very, slow. They watered the course so much, that its tough to walk on it.

When I was there last week, grass stated to get water so I believe it will be better in weeks. But it was a big mess that time. Water flowing around and dusty fairway.

The view of the golf course and surrounding homes is unbeatable, but they changed the menu, which really disappointed me. Since I dont golf, I probably wont go back.

Course continues to get improvements and well maintained. The staff was friendly and when my cart got weak it was promptly replaced at the next hole.

Very challenging, but attractive course. Very fast green. The staffs were great. We started earlier and finished within 3 and 30 minutes.

This was a nice place for a birthday party. Building was a little bit rundown. Bathroom could use a renovation in the next year or so.
