I stayed at this hotel in mid-December for a crew gig at the convention center. We checked into 7 rooms for 4 days. The rooms were fine. The hotel was a nice quality hotel. My issue was with the service I received after we checked out. They put a $100 charge on two of our rooms. As per normal I thought it was for pending transactions hold like most other hotels. I was wrong. They charged two of the rooms with $100 parking charges. We didnt park cars at this hotel. We were traveling via ubers. No one drove. I called a week later when these charges went through on two of my business cards. After some discussion and much rudeness on the part of the person at the hotel assured me that the charge would come off. Which I knew wouldnt happen since it was already charged to my cards. I followed up a week later with Sam at the front desk. He informed me that they mistakenly charged parking on those rooms and would reverse the charges on the cards. This worked on one of the cards. Another week passes and I call back to try to find out why this still wasnt reversed on the 2nd card. I was greeting with more rudeness from the front desk from the same person as I spoke to the 1st time. He tried to tell me again that it was my banks problem and this should have only been a pending transaction and that it would come off eventually. Mind you, this is 3 weeks after my stay at this hotel. He got super short and rude after me challenging him on this. He then transferred me to some accounting line without even saying anything to me. I called back to speak with the hotel manager, Tim. Who was also quite rude. After some pushing I asked him to check on this charge. He also said it was my banks fault and to call them. He found the charge on one of my rooms for $100 for parking and said he would reverse it. Then promptly hung up on me. This is unacceptable behavior from a customer service standpoint. I wont be staying here again and I will make sure that no one else that I know does either. $200 isnt much to get in a fuss about but the way they handled this is just not professional and downright wrong.

What I liked during my stay: - Has a mini fridge in the room that we can use for free - Mattresses were comfy and the blankets felt nice - The maids were very polite and helpful, providing extra bathroom supplies when asked (forgot to ask for the coffee though) What I didnt like during my stay: - The shower curtain problem has not been taken care of since my last complaint about it from last years stay; still the same ones and are too water-absorbent to be useful. - Roommates were given conflicting information in regards to accessing the Hiltons Wi-Fi from other hotel staff. (I have another complaint about Wi-Fi use, which Ill get to in a bit) - The hotel didnt receive a confirmation number from San Jose Housing, which was thankfully resolved. - The bill was a lot higher than originally intended. All in all, I was quite disappointed with my stay at the Hilton San Jose for Further Confusion 2014. Some of the problems from my complaint last year were not addressed (the shower curtain issue), and a request was denied because of a city law that I feel is rather dumb. Also, if youre going to offer complimentary Wi-Fi at your hotel, then make it so - dont slap a price tag on it, because then that means its not complimentary. Thats false advertising. But I am thankful that my roommates and I were given a promotion code to use the internet for free. By the way, the Clean Room Contest was a terrific idea - a good incentive for furries to clean up their rooms spic and span for housekeeping. Keep at it for future stays at FC!

I went inside to use the restroom for 5 minutes, 10 tops. I was not a guest this evening, but I have been a Hilton guest numerous times in the past as well as with a large organization, and this incident makes me not want to think of Hilton as a place to stay and be treated with respect for either myself or my organization. What happened was one of the security employees named Ray asked me to leave because I was in the hotel after hours as a non-guest. That isnt a problem in an of itself, but he was peeking in the restroom stall while I was on the toilet. Immediately apologized and did not refuse to leave, but he continued to harass me in the restroom. When I emerged from the stall, he was standing near the stall door like he was trying to peak at me naked. He could have asked me politely to leave and even waited for me outside the restroom, not hover over me and peak inside the stall I was using. This is why I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor was of no help at all and they escorted me out like some sort of criminal. Like I said before, I stay at various hotels with a large organization (over 1,000 to almost 2,000 at a time), so this incident makes me inclined to recommend against us staying with Hilton Hotels in the future.

My stay was entirely underwhelming. Pros: Decent staff for the most part. Cons: Wifi even with an access code is horrifically slow, such that I couldnt download my conference talk - a 5mb file timed out. My mattress felt both stiff and worn out - a half inch of marshmellow on rock. There is no vent fan so the humidity fills the room after a shower. Noise from the street is surprisingly loud even on the higher floors. The food at the hotel restaurant was underwhelming - I was dragged there a few times by my roomate and at the end of our stay they had no idea whose bills were whose . I can only assume this is sloppiness on the part of the restaurant staff , failing to enter the data, but the bespectacled jerk at the front desk seemed to think it was my fault. I dont itemize my bill for you, you itemize my bill for me. This isnt the worst hotel in the world, but I expected a lot better. There is no shortage of hotels nearby - I hear the Marriott and Westin are both quite nice.

Loved it! I stayed here when the Marriott was sold out for the SMX West conference. The next time I visit San Jose, the Hilton will be my choice instead of the alternative. Its conveniently connected to the McEnery Convention Center, which is handy for events. Plus, numerous restaurants, clubs and stores are within safe walking distance. The hotel room and customer service were awesome. (I didnt use or visit any of the facilities.) The very spacious, contemporary room had comfortable beds, relatively all new furnishings, a large TV, and a gigantic work desk with an amazing view. The modern bathroom included a make-up light mirror, which I thought was pretty cool. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, my San Hose Hilton experience was great, and Id certainly recommend staying here for business travel. Tip: Although it says free WiFi, the speed is very limited in some rooms. Ask for an ethernet cable to use instead, and the connection should work great.

I stayed here 5 nights for a conference in the Convention Center. Things that I liked about the hotel were its decor, that its in a convenient location near lots of restaurants, & the convention center & the gym & pool were nice. Things that I disliked were my toilet didnt flush properly almost every time I used it. I wasnt aware there was a Fridge in the room until my last day as its camouflaged as a clothes drawer & I certainly didnt feel like we should be paying an extra $10 a day for wireless Internet. ESPECIALLY since you could only connect one device at a time. Ive stayed in hostels where I pay only a few dollars a night and I get free wireless that I can connect several devices on to at the same time. A nice hotel like this should offer free wireless to their guests.
