This a park for doges, although there is a childrens playground on the east end. However there are no restroom facilities for huumahns. The doge owners in this neighborhood are funny, small doges are on leashes - mostly because their owners dont want their precious little babies run over by cars, if they run off. But the majority of large doges are not on leashes, occasionally one "alpha" will come across another, and the normal posturing and growling takes place. Responsible owner will try to intervene, while less responsible owners just let the animals settle their business themselves. Tangles are rare, as most of the doges are socialized, and are familiar with each other, theyre more happy to sniff each other, than to fight. Its just the ones passing through who arent well behaved that are the problem. But animal waste is a problem since it is only a few who pick up after their pets, its 50/50 for persons who properly dispose of "bagged" doggie poop. There are lots of abandoned poop bags around the park from irresponsible doge owners, other than neglected poop piles in the grass - for the unwary to sit or step on. There is a great open space for doges to run around, some days and afternoons, there are more doges than people is seems. That joggers stretching, or couples lounging are more in the way for doges than the animals. Thus it is more of a doge park, than one for huumahns. As you probably presume - I prefer cats, but no less a conscientiously responsible animal lover.

This is my local park and during spring summer and fall my wife or i bring our dog here at least once a day. During the week, the long grass field is mostly used as a dog park and 95% of the dogs are well behaved. The problem is the drainage of the field is horrible and during the winters rains the park is not usuable without coating your shoes and your dog in mud. Charlies coffee is our morning stop and anchors the community. The far end of the park has a fenced in childrens playground and is always at least half filled with families. It is also next to where a new coffee house is moving in from the owners of the dolores park cafe. Im curious to see if it can generate as much community activity. I would sacrifice 1/3 the grass for a tenis and basketball court. And i wish humphrey slo colm would move down the street to this park. Yay for Precita Park! Together with the top of Bernal Hill, it pulls the community of Bernal Heigts together!

Precita Park is a nice green stretch that is fun to lay out in and read a book. Its kind of narrow so its not the greatest for something like kicking a soccer ball. I went to a kids party there once and they had a bouncy house. That was a great location for a kids party. The nearby food and shops are good too, so you can grab a bite to eat and take it out on the grass.

A nice park with ample grass to enjoy for a picnic, to sun and read a book or to kick the ball around. Beware if you are a dog owner or dont like dogs as owners tend to let their dogs run off leash here. I enjoy dogs so it is nice to see the dogs getting some exercise and chasing balls and frisbees.

Great little park! I usually just walk through it on my way to Bernal Heights, but recently had a picnic there with some friends. Plenty of room to sit, pretty quite, and plenty of trees to find shade under. Also great to take your dog here to play and hangout!

Fairly large for a neighborhood park, it has a cute playground, large grassy area, and a cafe across the street. Unfortunately there are no restrooms in the park itself.
