It is usually an island of serenity, amongst the torrid wickedness that is the sleazy parts of San Franciscos Tenderloin. Although, oddly there are places mere feet apart - in the park where data/talk reception plummets to zero from excellent. Which may seem static and unchanging, yet hours or a day later, the pattern changes abruptly. Possibly due to local demand on the few transponders that services the Tenderloin. So be sure to activate your WiFi to lock onto SFWIFI, there is no password as it is a public service provided by the city. Although service is limited to the vicinity of the park. FYI it is also the same WiFi when you are in or around the city libraries. BTW, the reason there is the occasional reek of bathroom cleaner, is because the Dept of Public Works, routinely washes down the sidewalks of problem areas (almost all of the Tenderloin) because of human waste contamination. Watch your step when wandering outside of the park, Im not kidding.

The dealers and druggies will always be the most prevalent activity in this park no matter how much money is spent. Too bad the TL is losing kids according to the census I am not surprised since so many of them become latchkey kids and become prisoners in their own home because of the dangerous activities that never end on the streets. Face it Glide is next to Boeddeker and that draws too many thugs on drugs The police station does not help they still blatantly deal drugs when the cops leave The kids notice the activity The JC Decaux bathroom is nothing less than a CRACK SHACK This was not the case in the 60s through most of the 70s and the crack epidemic and the proliferation of liquor stores has destroyed the neighborhood Skid Row was on Second Street when I was A kid Now it is 6th Street ,most of the TL and some of the Mission and Bayview. Skid Row has grown

This Park has gone under a transformation of great magnitudes. Gone are the dark hidden corners and sketchy persons lingering around within its borders. In are the new Clubhouse, yes clubhouse, The grounds are well kept, time for a picnic. There are new basketball courts with all the trimmings. Playgrounds for the children. Grass knolls strategically placed throughout the Park. Boeddeker Park 2015 is a jewel of a park now. Worth taking the kids to play and learn. Bonus, the Sun shines Mid-day so bright.

Amazing park, just redone in Fall of 2014 and has way more than just the clubhouse. Swings, playground, basketball court outside, there are places to sit and enjoy being outside while in the Tenderloin, really! check out the area tucked in the center of the block, a nice refuge from the bustle of the surrounding area. You will be amazed by the diversity, life and substantial number of just normal people getting out and playing here.

A well designed, modern park in the middle of the Tenderloin. Great new playground for kids two and up. A basic but functional workout area. Nice basketball court, grassy space and walking path that all get good use. A variety of seating. Excellent mural above an excellent community building. I only wish it were open later.

Great clean lovely city park in the heart of the Tenderloin. Perfect for picnics, basketball, strolling, table tennis, exercise, reading and playing. Sounds of children laughing and playing add joy to the park. Great community center and clean restrooms. Nice, safe and modern. A great neighborhood park.

Newly renovated in December 2014, with a clubhouse, grassy area, and basketball court. The past area has two swings, a rope structure, and a terrain area with a roller slide. Also the best sounding childrens chimes ever. A bit too hot and sunny though.

Wonderful Gem in the middle of the downtown area (Tendorloin ). Great youth recreation programs that offer financial aid for families. Dont worry about anything because the police station is across the street lol.

This is an urban oasis in the heart of the Tenderloin. The diversity of the neighborhood is truly on display. And the outdoor ping pong table is a truly gorgeous piece of art.
