We have been coming here since it opened as Boneshakers a number of years ago. It was always great service, food, and beer. Over those first couple years we would go almost once a week and was a member of the mug club. They had a great menu and daily gourmet macaroni and cheeses. That and a good selection of their beers made it our go to local hang out. Then some of our favorite staff left and they decided to rebrand as a music themed brew pub. I wasnt a fan of the new look but everything else stayed the same at that time. Then they started doing more experimental beers (aka saisons and sours). They kept the great ipas so it was just more variety. Then they changed up the menu, lost key staff (one of the reasons we always went there), and started doing ridiculous beers. Im not opposed to sours, even though they are the devils brew, but come on 3 on a menu is too many when you only have 1 IPA and maybe a dipa. The quality of food started to slip and the staff had a different vibe so we stopped going there for 6 months or so. We went back today for fathers day lunch and they had 2 ipas on tap out of 12 beers. The menu had changed again and get this, the 2 kids got charged $3 per soda. No fountain sodas! No they were 12 oz plastic bottles of soda. Obviously no refills and that wasnt included on the kids menu. What was? Milk, juice, or Capri sun. On top of that the kids food was marginal at best. The adult meals were just ok and the staff was barely passable. It saddens me that what was our local brew pub we bragged to our friends about and went to weekly has gone downhill so much. Weve spent thousands of dollars there for 3 years and I doubt we ever go back.

Very cool place. Layout is a little weird if youve never been there, way bigger than we realized. Food: High end Pub Grub. We had the Pizza Mac, Loaded Fries and Mixed Greens salad. All of it was amazing! Great flavors! Beer: We tried 4 of the 12 beers on tap, the IPA, West Coast IPA, Sour IPA and the NE Hazy Pale Ale. I love IPAs but I did not like the IPA and West Coast IPA. Not bad, just not what I look for in an IPA. I dont like Sours in general but this was surprisingly pretty good! We both got different flavors on every taste. Dont think I could drink more than a pint but really neat beer. Our fav was the NE Hazy Pale Ale, ended up taking home a crowler. All in all, we had a great time but there were 2 things I think are worth mentioning. While we were greeted and sat relatively quickly, we sat by the door and I saw at least 3 couples walk out after standing in the reception area for 5-10 minutes and not being greeted. Didnt seem busy enough for that to be understandable. Second, kitchen closed an hour before they brewery did. While understandable, felt it shouldve been posted. All in all a great date night with great food and friendly service. Will definitely be back.

So Ive only been here once, and I was there for probably an hour or so for a friends birthday. I sampled a couple beers, they were both amazing, we smacked on some fries and chips, they were also amazing, the staff was awesome and the environment was very relaxed and friendly. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because I had a serious allergic reaction to SOMETHING here. I eat like a garbage disposal and have never had any food allergies, no tree product allergies(like hops or any fruits or anything) but something here managed to put me on my ass, sniffly nose, tight hot chest, the whole deal. Ill probably come back in the future because theyre good and Im hoping it was some kind of fluke, but I couldnt give it 5 stars as I left here and felt like dying.

Oh man. Where do I start with respect to articulating how much I love this place?? The staff and ownership: Second to NONE. Zack, Bambi, Natalie, Susan and the rest of the crew are literally some of the best people on this planet! So kind and welcoming....whenever I go in for a delicious, refreshing beverage (around the bend is my current favorite), or the fantastic food, I literally feel like Im at home. Seriously, the food and beer are no joke. So, SO good on both accounts. Unless you dont have an appreciation for a kind, professional, fun-loving staff and great food and beer, you NEED to make this a regular stop. If I could make this a mandate, I would. Thanks Black Vinyl!

My favorite place from now on, the beer is super good..Ive tried lots of beer but nothing like this..The varieties and tastes are amazing. And the burger and fries, oh my goodness, huge portions. I will definitely be back. My only suggestion to the owners is, dont charge for pickles, I only got 4 tiny slices and got charged for them, give those out for free..Other than that everything was perfect. And anyone that says the beer isnt good or the food isnt good, they are delusional and dont know good beer and good food. Smh....

Ive been a regular at the Pub for years. The Community Brewery is a great spot, the menu is solid, and the beers awesome. That said, I rarely get over to the CB because the Pub is closer to me and I prefer the rapid tap rotation. The CB has mostly Boneshaker beers, and so there is much less variety. The Tandem Double IPA is a serious winner and they have many other brews that I like. The space at the CB is great -- large patio is great when the weather is nice. JJs got it going -- stop in.

Recently attended a conference at Sierra College, and found BVAP to be my go-to stop for dinner and drinks. Good variety of beers and very friendly staff! Not much to do in Rocklin in the evening, so this was a very welcome spot close to my hotel. Only slight disadvantage was that they dont offer their full menu every day of the week, but it didnt stop me from enjoying a brew before I moseyed on to dinner at the next place. I will definitely return whenever Im in Rocklin!

Good good and decent beverage selection, but wish they had a few more things to try on the menu. Lots of outdoor seating. Flatbread crust was not too crispy, which is my preference and rare to find. Same goes for the fries. Enjoyed our visit, but not so remarkable we will be making the long drive from Elk Grove again soon. They have a sister location we will also be trying and have heard good things about. If you are in the area, this place is worth a stop.

I just absolutely love this place. Great selection of beers. Food is amazing. We always get their appetizer of house made sausages. Theres a special cheese spread that is the bomb and I love the mustard it comes with. Im glad to see new items on their menu that also uses the sausages. I love that the breads are handmade and they are delicious. Everything we have tried seems to compliment the beer. This has been out "to go" place when we want to go out.
