Hi. I go to OSA. Im a vocal student. I love my vocal classes. Most of the time its my favorite part of the day. I love the teachers and what they can get us students to produce through our music. OSAs academic classes are good and they are getting stronger as the school thrives with new students. Im giving OSA 2 stars because I have had to deal with being a victim of obvious bullying and harassment and the school administration did not take the actions needed to be taken until nearly a year and a half after they became aware of it. In fact, instead of listening and acknowledging what I was saying about the entire thing they tried to threaten me with suspension multiple times due to things they had no evidence of me doing or the things they did have evidence of it is not in their jurisdiction to be giving the consequence. As much as I love OSA the behavior of some students has made me not want to go to school and it has severely lowered my self esteem, which has lead me to having depression. The school may have a different story to this entire situation but from my stand point and from the perspective of some students who were going through this with me, this is how it went. If youre a parent or if youre thinking of applying to OSA you should remember this. Before I was at OSA I was a completely different person. I was expressive, overly kind and trusting, and I could open up about things with people but Ive lost all that now because after dealing with this crap I have learned that there is no rules anymore. All those good morals everyone tells you to have gets thrown away. Consider this before going to OSA. Its not just an art school that escapes the problems of a "normal" school. In some ways it feels worse.

From my experience the osa community can be very unsupportive the kids can be very cruel and then when u try to take the problem to higher authorities nothing is solved and they try to compare things that u did thats similar to what the person is doing but besides the messed up community and bullies,although osa can have negatives and positives.A positive is the events they have like your emphasis shows. my emphasis is vocals and the shows are very fun vocals is my best part of osa and basically the only reason why Im still at osa when ever vocals has a show everybody comes together like a family and everyone gets a long vocals is very supportive and the teachers are absolutely amazing, but if u are thinking about coming to osa or u are, make sure u pick a good circle of friends or try to keep it small Im going to be a 8th grader this year so if ur coming to osa or your gonna be in vocals,Welcome!!see you soon

I go to this school. I am a theatre major in 7th grade. Honestly if you are very devoted to your art then this is the best place to learn and practice 2 hours a day doing the thing you love.

The parent involvement is alive and active. Lots of great opportunities for young people to showcase their talents while continuing to mentally grow into new challenges being presented. !
