"1.21 gigawatts?? 1.21 gigawatts?!? Great Scott!!" Hey, that looks like the Back to the Future movie theatre! You know, the one Marty McFly will hit if he doesnt reach 88 MPH. That was my first impression when walking towards the Uptown Theatre, nestled in the West End district of Downtown Napa. Undergoing a major renovation a few years ago, the Uptown Theatre is an intimate, old school theatre whos last row is only 98 feet from the stage, making every seat a great seat. I had the great fortune of attending 2 consecutive nights of mostly acoustic concerts, with a diverse lineup of musical acts. Seating was quite comfortable. I sat in the third & first row of the upper level (respective to each night) & had a great view. Plenty of leg space to stretch out & get comfortable. Refreshments for the show can be obtained at the Courtyard Café & Bar, with light bites and alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages. The only complaint would be the restrooms, They are not large enough to handle the rush of guests in attendance. The mens room quickly formed a line. I dont dare imagine how bad the line at the womens restroom became. There is at least one unisex restroom by the entrance. Like a travel back in time, like say Nov.5, 1955, the Uptown Theatre is a classic in every sense of the word. Handsomely appointed seats, close to the stage, are what make this a fantastic venue to catch a show, all in beautiful Downtown Napa. Highly recommend!

Second-best venue in the Bay Area (first is the Fox in Oakland). Free parking nearby and excellent sound. There is NO BAD SEAT IN THE HOUSE here. The only drawback seems to be the habit of booking acts that generally appeal to the "over 50" demographic. I mean, look...Judy Collins is great and all, but just a few years ago I saw Beck, Built to Spill, X, Joe Satriani, and all sorts of acts that were a little more rockin. Lets bring back some bookings that appeal to the more fervent concert-going demographic, shall we?

This establishment plans on letting Kathy Griffin stand up on the stage after she said that she was going after Barron Trump...All other businesses have cancelled this filthy mouth comic...Will this establishment endorse such crude remarks about an 11 year old child? I will never attend an event there again if she is allowed to go on stage and I urge everyone else to cancel also if she attends there.

Ive seen many shows here and its great, esp if you live in Napa. Even when its crowded its really not. Chill atmosphere. Bars easily accessible. Seats are what you would expect from an older converted movie theater. Ive seen the Pixies, Peter Murphy, David Sedaris among others. Always a pleasure to see a show there.

As someone who has a hard time hearing live shows in theaters, I was a little concerned when I went to an improv comedy show here. However, this place was great! The staff was great, the acoustics were perfect and you could see the stage clearly from the whole venue. It was a great time!

Recently saw the Midtown Men, aka Jersey Boys, and it was a stellar concert! Uptown gets great acts and its such a fabulous venue. Where else do you get easy chair-comfortable seats with cup holders that allow you to have a nice adult beverage during the performance?

Only 6 reviews? ! Then this is the locals best kept secret! As the ad says " every seat is a great seat." The ticket prices are very affordable . The interior is beautiful. If you have the opportunity to see a show here go; it is wonderful!

This is one of the best places to see a concert or any show. It reminds us of the Old Fox Theatre in downtown Stockton, CA. If you want to see a great concert, go see Jonny Lang! That show was the best Ive seen in many years!

Great older theater that has been very well taken care of. It suffered some damage in the past earthquake but it has been completely repaired. Its a must for any movie. A great popular venue for the film festival in the fall.

Great venue! Just the right size auditorium for bot acoustics an to have a commection with the performing artist. Saw Kenny Loggins there and he came right up behind my wife and I so we can take a selfie together!

Saw my favorite Fleedwood Mac gent...Lindsay Buckingham...on Tuesday evening. Beautiful venue. Intimate feel. Excellent acoustics. Staff is friendly. Perfect. One of the best small venues in the Bay Area.

So loud my ears rang for hours. The sound needs to be adjusted properly- not sure if this is the responsibility of the venue or the band but it was way too loud- couldnt enjoy the music for Y&T.

Beautiful venue without a bad seat in the house. No matter where you sit, the sound is great. Its deco glamourous. Note: restrooms are downstairs and the bar can be crowded at times.
