Located right in the heart of Monterey Park, adjacent to the City Hall, Fire station, and the library, it is a nice little park that has almost everything: swimming pool, a running/walking track, a playground, 4 tennis courts, indoor basketball courts, an outdoor theater, and a baseball field. I feel very safe walking in this park even during late night hours. Many people walk their dog here. There is ample parking on the street. At night you can park inside the city hall parking lot.

This is basically the citys center. City Hall, the library, a public pool,the Police Station, Fire Department are all here with a shaded picnic area and swings and slides. A grassy hillside overlooking the Parks amphitheater makes a nice spot for a picnic. The Friday night Farmers Market has an excellent cover band called Awkward Threesome that plays Top 40 hits while you shop food vendors and produce. This Park even has an indoor gym for basketball. Simply, a great place!

One of the best parks in the Monterey Park area. It is very clean and offers plenty of amenities. It has a swimming pool, softball field, kids play area, concert stage, grilling area, and even senior yoga. It is also very safe as it has a MPPD stationed attached to the location. Just walking distance from a main street you are always close to a store or restaurant. The locals are friendly and the atmosphere is great. I love this park.

A great park with an awesome view this park is meant for the community here theres plenty of room and fun activities to do out here. Theres also a swimming pool and a little amphitheater for plays and stuff. Theres so much room in this park and so well maintained! Im jealous of this place because I dont live by here.

A great park with plenty of amenities for locals, including a large swimming pool for hot summer days. Barnes Park is constantly hosting many free and paid community events that are fun with friends or with family. It is also conveniently located near Garvey Ave, where you can find many great restaurants.

Safe, great place for walk. Community used this park...check out the Chinese fan dancing lessons, taichi sword exercises, 3 tennis courts, swimming pool...picnic and gathering spaces, amphitheatre ..sll protected by the police/ fire presence within the block. Perimeter walk is 3/4 miles.

Covering 1 city block, Barnes Park isnt big in any sense. But, it does house a childrens jungle gym area, City Hall (and accompanying services including police, fire, water, city planning, architecture). There is also a full-size, indoor court, but the summer heat makes the facility stuffy.

Very big nice park. Has a pool you have to pay a dollar in the summer to get into though and two play grounds one for little kids and one for big kids the playground does have sand though. There is a huge picnic area very nice and a lot of nice green grass nice area to play and even jog.

This is a local small park in Monterey Park. It often used in festival such as Monterey park night market, moon festival, and cherry blossom. Parking is decent but not enough for a big event and often you has to talk few block away.

Came here for the Cherry Blossom Festival and it was a big community space. Nothing too special- there is a baseball field which I thought was cool. I am sure tons of other community events happen here. Tons of room for it!

We had a birthday party. It was lovely and warm. Best things in life are very inexpensive. $90 for a unit of space. Come early and book unit 1 for extended space to dance and play.
