Liberty Park, oh how I remember you before your extreme makeover.. I remember seeing you in a background shot during a car scene in the film, "Waynes World".... I remember basketball games coming down to blows with a few occasions of people pulling their straps.... I remember the birthday parties & school field trips to "Camp Liberty".... Brings back memories.... The renovation has really done wonders to the park. My mom & I regularly walk (I power-walk and/or jog) on the track. There are 3 sand volleyball courts, raquetball courts, tennis courts, baseball fields & a fancy childrens playground to boot. Theres something for everyone to enjoy. Inside the office, theres a membership gym thats pretty decent, daycare & a childrens activity center. There is also a multipurpose room for enrichment classes and banquet rooms. We reserved & used the double banquet room with outside patio & kitchen for the 1-year anniversary of my dads passing back in 2006, and it was a lot of space. The wait for reserving it back then was 1-year, so make advanced preparations if youre thinking of holding an engagement here. Seeing people walking their dogs at the park makes me want to become a dog owner again. Sigh

A group of friends and I usually go to Liberty park to practice, kick a soccer ball around or have a friendly 3 or 4 on 4 match at liberty park, and every time we end up being asked to stop playing. Recently we grew to maybe a 6 on 6 friendly game of soccer (taking up space that is no bigger than a basketball court) and was asked to leave. When asked why, they simply said it is not permitted. When we asked to see a sign of documentation, we were threatened to be escorted by sheriffs. When you go to liberty park there is a plaque promoting the park to be used by everyone for recreational purposes. Contradiction what we were told.

One of the best parks in the surrounding area. We had our wedding in the pergola area, many years ago. We now take our children and their friends to play volleyball in the sand, run the track and during the summer time, play in the water play area. Liberty Park is rarely crowded and is easy to find parking. Although, if you plan to visit on a holiday, get there early to stake your claim. When you go, take the whole family, dogs too. Theres LOTS of room to throw the frisbee and tennis ball. Enjoy your day in the park...

Great place if you wanna play volleyball or run on the track while kids play at the playground. If you plan on running, do beware that at peak times (usually in the late afternoons/evenings) there are ridiculous amounts of walkers on the track that are frankly inconsiderate. They walk in packs sometimes pushing strollers, and either take up the inside lane, or block a good portion of the track. I usually just run around them, or go into the inside grass area. But for most runners, it can be very distracting and annoying.

This is a clean, well maintained park with an excellent running track that has a low-impact surface. The playground is fun for kids with accessible ramps and equipment. The one downside is that there is no shade for parents to sit in while children are at the playground. All the seating is in hot, blazing sun during the warm months. The park also has a disc golf course, a relative rarity in city parks.

Nice park very well light up. Lots of ppl out exercises on the track and playing sports and kids on the play ground playing. This is a nice park to walk on the track at night. I feel very safe. Even there is staff on site at night. Ive been at the park walking on the track around 8:30p.m after I got off of work. This is the only park I will be out this late walking of the track at night

The place is just the best. Volleyball and tennis courts are available. One thing I love about this place is that theres a separate track for those who jog and those who walk. Parking space, not a problem. Cleanliness? Very. Lights are goood. And this is a good place for catching Pokemons since Electabuzz seem to nest in here. Exercising at the same time catching pokemons.

Great park for kids and adults. Running track has a good surface with beach volleyball and other courts in the center. The fitness area is better than average with pullup bars, parallel bars, monkey bars and other equipment. There are two playgrounds for the kids, both of which are in excellent condition.

Its a great park to walk at. You can walk the riverbed, walk the track, and all around the park. It has a playground for the kids, water features, and tennis courts. It is kept very clean. Has bathrooms, drinking fountains close. All in all a great place to visit.

Beautiful grass to run around on. Or have picnics. Great place for disc golfing with friends. Or exercising in the outdoor gym area... nice track to do your laps! 2 playgrounds. Long walking routes! You can also go walking along the canal through the gates.

Liberty park is a nice family park that offers a safe place for kids to play and adults a place to exercise. The main part of the park is well lite but because of its size the outline portion are not. Due the popularity of the park, parking is an issue.

Really nice park, sand pits, courts, and everything. Work out equipment and track are all in good condition. Well lit when it gets dark until it closes. People deserve the volleyball courts but they usually just let you join them if you ask

I really love this park and the recreational services they provide. It is clean and the staff is very efficient in helping when you have questions. My two daughters go to the ballet classes on Friday nights and they love it!

Quirky park near LA canal/aqueduct, good use of public land that is not suitable for much else. Great little park but not a lot of shade. Fantastic location for Pokemon Go right now - hope they dont change it.

Cute park with great rubberized track. It has handicapped playground that all of the kids like. It has volleyball and racket sports areas and is a great place to head out for bike rides on the riverbed.

Great open spaces. Plenty of things for the kids to do. Tennis courts. Work out station. And a track to run on. The only issue I have is that the entire park is under major electric wires.

This is by far the best park I have gone to. Stretches about a mile long. Has a very nice track and play area for the kids. Has the picnic benches,BBQs and published restrooms.

The fountain area and benches need a good power wash. And apparently the splash pad shuts off at 4 PM, which is not fun on the hot summer afternoons!
