Ive been playing this course since the late 1990s, and normally play from the white tees even though I am a woman. That doesnt mean that its not challenging from the red tees, because it is! Ive always enjoyed playing this course, no matter what tees I play from. Itll test your patience and skill! The greens are normally immaculate and fast! The fairways are challenging but fun! This is a Links Course, which is hilly with minimal fairway trees. There are many hazards to watch for, like water, which can be hidden from view on some holes, so make sure you check your play card on each hole. The electric carts are in very good condition and the whole place is neat and clean. A nice driving range and putting green to practice on. Most of the staff members are friendly and knowledgeable. The golf instructor needs to take some lessons on people skills, her attitude isnt very professional, nor is she inviting or easily approachable. The restaurant Caddys is nice. The menu has a nice variety and the pricing is appropriate. However, the service is hit miss. I like that you can call and order items to go! The orders are usually ready when you arrive to pick-up. Theres also a snack bar to grab hot dogs, chips, cold drinks/beer, etc.

Love the golf course! Have played over 200 rounds there and never get tired of the track. Have been there since the Hal Ingram (great guy) days and many, many behind the desk associates. I just want to vent about one of the worst customer service people I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Most always, when I walk into a business to spend money I am greeted respectfully and with a "good morning, good afternoon" or some other comment that might make me feel welcome. All in my foursome this Saturday 6/13/2015 mentioned how cold, condescending and just mean this guy was at check-in. Mike was there some years back (miserable then also) and now has returned. I am sure that in his own mind he is more than qualified for the roll he plays but in reality needs some serious PR training.

What a nice course, with a challenging par 5 first. Played on a hot Sunday afternoon in summer, and we were the only ones out there. Quite rare. This course has sentimental value to me because it was built across the creek from family property and Im not from the area. Family also worked at Preston, so its nice to get a group pic in front of the castle near the 16th or 17th green. And I love trees; you cant find oaks like this at many places. I didnt ask about club rental, but I hope they do. Real nice folks running it. Worth a stop if your passing through.

This course has some very difficult holes with a few very playable holes mixed in. Most holes are not real straight and it seemed like many had a dogleg of some sort. Water comes into play on about 5 of the holes and some of the fairways get pretty narrow so youll want to hit it straight! Hole number 18 is really unique. You can take a chance and cut off quite a bit of yardage by hitting your tee shot onto island like area which is just large enough to make you think you should go for it. Just dont go right, left, or short!

This is a really nice golf course. Beautiful trees, old oaks through out. The maintenance crew keeps the course in excellent condition throughout the year. Some of the hardest greens to read. Challenging but fun.

I played here 8/3/2014 8am: Staff is great, the fairways and greens were in great shape and the pace of play was steady. The course will test golfers of all skill levels.
