There are places that instantly take hold of your heart. Pacific Star is one of them. Full disclosure, I got married there. So everytime we drive onto the winery, as the roaring waves crash against the rocks, tears begin to form. The owners, Sally and Marcus, put a lot of love in their wines and pour them for visitors as they chat about the appellations of the grapes - or the latest whale sighting from their property. And when we walk up, they welcome us with warm smiles and open arms every time. Obviously, you should buy a bottle, fill a basket with cheese, crackers and salami that they sell in the tasting room, and enjoy a picnic outside. While we were exchanging our vows in May, our photographer said a whale came up for air and spouted high into the air. Of course, I was a little too preoccupied at the time to see it.

Easily gets winery and tasting room with best view. Not only is the view great but they set up many tables and chairs so you can really enjoy it. Grab a bottle of wine and enjoy. They have quite a few wines and provide up to 5 or 6 for tasting. Maybe more if they happen to have something else open. Most are reds and a few that are varietals that are hard to find like Charbono, Barbera, or Temperanillo. Zin was my favorite though Petite Syrah is good too. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.

Great little winery with views that are worth the trek no matter where youre coming from. Tasting was great as well, the owner is full of interesting info about the site and is happy to let you wander the grounds. There is a cottage that can be rented for 2 people, no kids, not pets, its the little red building. Dog friendly in certain parts of the winery, but not all.

Just left the lot, but wanted to make sure I left a review. Highlight of mine and my brides honeymoon! Delicious wine and cheese, beautiful views, but most importantly the owner and his wife were incredibly personable and helpful. Highly recommend the stop! You will not regret it.

Simply incredible stop. Wines were excellent, the ocean views are unmatched, you are literally right on the edge of the cliffs. The folks pouring the wine were also wonderful. i strongly suggest you pull over for a glass of wine!

Absolutely gorgeous! Spent the weekend driving along HWY 1 and this was for sure a highlight of the weekend. We sat on the big bench over looking the ocean and enjoyed a bottle of Pacific Star tempranillo. We will be back!!!

The amazing views make for a great place to enjoy a picnic and sample some of their decent wines. Dog tolerant, but not quite dog friendly... A sign near the parking lot suggest leaving your dog in the car... Huh?
