@DJs comment below; yes, the attendant often plays with the drop in players. In fact, he is extremely friendly and helpful. He is knowledgeable and often helps beginners with free advice. Please dont base your opinion on only one time at Bintang. Whenever I play there (which is very, very often), it is reasonably cooler than the outside weather in summer, and warmer in winter. The stuffiness is very, very rare. The reason he cannot open the side door is because 1) people come in from the side door without paying, and 2) the drafts from the door affect the path of the birdie, negatively impacting playing. If he opens the door, birdies in the air will fly randomly whenever wind blows in through the door (the buildings outsides create a wind tunnel). Secondly, a side note: Bintang is not a "he" (referring to DJs comment); it means star in Indonesian...If you are trying to refer to Bintang Badmintons head coach, Phu Khuu: yes, he does play there. In fact, he used to coach at that location. As for complaining about the "heat" - almost NO badminton gyms have AC. The only one is OCBC in Orange County, which charges $50< for a single day of playing. Bintang, on the other hand, is very cheap; it only costs $7 for adults and less for children. They often have specials for $3 or $5 also. Another thing: the green mats that Bintang Badminton has on all their courts are $10,000 EACH. These are the same green mats that are used in the Olympics for Badminton; no other gyms use these mats.

This is my first time playing in the Dublin Bintang court in summer. It did not feel good when I played there in winter time when I noticed the severe lack of fresh air -- the warehouse-converted court has no fan, fresh air circulation at all. It really shows the problem today at 80 degree condition. Its not only hot (10:00am in the morning), its stifling and suffocating. The air smelt so old and it made me and my partner dizzy very quickly. Making matter worse is the young attendant, who rebuffed my comment and suggestion right away saying -- 1. The only one vent at the corner of the building was not operational. 2. He would not open slightly (as I suggested) the side door or the sliding garage door to provide some air circulation. Here you have an attendant so ignorant to the degree that he does not play or check the condition of the whole building which has absolutely no fresh air in and out, probably for a long time. He has no concern about it and does not know how to listen and respond to customers’ concern and question. It’s not hard to fix the little vent quickly, and open the doors early in the morning and late in the evening to refresh the air. Unless Bintang claims his facility in Dublin is intended to be a sweat box or cheap Sauna without shower, I can’t imagine many people would continue to come, including myself, albeit in hotter weather. He himself should play here once to check it out.

Good Courts, Low Air Circulation/Low Lighting for Interior Courts, leaking roof during rains which is very dangerous as the water gets dripped on to courts. Courts are too closely spaced. One big positive is the Court Surface which is better than others in the area. For what they charge they should improve, especially the Air Circulation Part.
