Went to see Madeon live at Senator Theater. The venue itself was okay. It wasnt the biggest or coolest venue, especially for any EDM-type event but it ended up working out decently. The crowd here wasnt the best. We had a lot of people trying to crowd surf throughout the night and it ended up just annoying a lot of people. One guy even fell on top of me while trying to crowd surf. I understand its an event and it should be fun but hurting other people through sheer stupidity diminishes the experience. The security here was pretty lenient about the event. However, they at least sometimes knew when to step in. One girl was being obnoxious while sitting on someones shoulder and security gave her the death stare and gestured to her to get off. I normally dont care for this kind of stuff but it was actually quite funny. I met a few cool people and others who seemed less than excited about Madeon. They did not allow us to bring water, bags, or CamelBaks into the venue so we had to resort to purchasing water bottles inside which was annoying. They didnt try to extort you with outrageous prices, though, which was nice. The city of Chico itself was very strange, however. Before the event started, we hung around the city but felt very uncomfortable being there. There were some interesting folks and some normal folks but everyone seemed to be judging us for whatever reason. My friends even got cat-called by a passing vehicle. With all things considered, I wouldnt recommend coming here and to save your money for a different event. Only come here as a last resort if you really want to see your favorite artist or show.

SHUT UPS DOWN

UNPROFESSIONAL, DISRESPECTFUL, AND RUDE! If youre a Reggae band please DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE!!! They confiscate Medical Marijuana and they dont give it back. I simply asked if I could take it back to my truck and they said no if I left I wouldnt be allowed back in and shoved me into taking my medicine. I paid a good amount of money for my tickets and the staff Ruined my experience. Im speaking for tons of fans. I recently came here to enjoy myself and relax from life and wanted to obviously smoke my medicine and enjoy good Reggae music but the little blue guys running around like idiots ruined my experience. I will NEVER come back to this grimy building again. Im a grown adult trying to enjoy myself not some child. This Venue needs to be boycotted by ALL Reggae Bands. The staff is very UNPROFESSIONAL, DISRESPECTFUL AND RUDE, not to mention the staff is a bunch of college and High School children who are out to ruin others experience. NOT A GOOD VENUE FOR BUSINESS.

Terrible venue. Good luck hearing any lyrics, especially if youre on the upper balcony. Not to mention your feet sticking to every part of the floor that you walk on. And dont dare look at the ceiling, which screams mold and remodel. Its too bad to see a historic place with some character turned into a s*** hole with no care given to any part of the facilities. My wife and I went there it lasted about 30 minutes before we were so aggravated that we couldnt watch the show anymore. Theres also the fact that due to people standing in the way we couldnt see the show even if we wanted to.. so needless to say dont waste your money or time. Edit: Just learned that the Facebook postings of this theater are deleted if they dont show 4 stars or better. So using Facebook to determine the quality of this dump through that is going to be false and useless

I would have given this place 5-stars if it was not for that fat disgusting tattooed "security" gaurd standing on stage with his flashlight. He could barely walk so I guess he found it necessary to get his power-trip by standing up there when the main preformer was on to shine a flashlight on pot smokers. Get a real job! Oh wait nobody else would hire him for liability reasons : )

Great venue! I love the small, local feel and close access to the stage (if you get there early). I wish more of their shoes allowed alcohol downstairs, but appreciate the option to get a drink upstairs at the "all ages" shows.

Its sad what this place has become. I remember going to see movies there when I was a kid. But now the only time I go there is for a concert. This place is kinda like a dive bar but without and actual bar to get drinks at.

The line is long for any alcohol, a very small area where you can consume it. Horribly hot with a large crowd. Absolutely no ventilation. A poor venue for popular bands.

Puts on some great shows. Venue is undergoing small renovations constantly to bring this old theater back to life.

Nice venue. Didnt let me bring my drugs in but they let us go in and out to go smoke said drugs.
