We come here a lot, either early after opening or an hour before closing when its not so crowded. It is a very nice kids science museum, not as big as the Exploratorium but also less touristic. It has some quirks, like the awesome water play installation outside, but then kids are not allowed to step into the water. The food could be better. Little things like that. But then again the funding is tight and everyone involved does an amazing job to make everything work, especially the students from Cal explaining things to the kids, helping with the hands on exhibitions. They also come to the local schools and hold little science fairs, contributing in great ways to education. If your donation budget has still room, consider LHS. And dont miss the Dino bones in the basement.

We took our children here at an early age because of "their fascination" with getting into things with their hands. This place offered a lot of "hands on science exhibits," which both of our children took an immediate liking to and spent hours running from one exhibit to the next. The only time we took a break was for lunch, and then it was back visiting and spending more time at the exhibits. We spent many hours at the insect zoo, animal discovery room, as well as the ingenuity lab trying to solve puzzles to answering questions relating to the universe. The many exhibits this place offered kept the children stimulated both mind and body and by the time we left, late in the afternoon, both kids were fast asleep from taxing their brains all day.

wonderful rotating exhibits. Great little restaurant downstairs all complemented by incredible view off the deck. Its about on par price wise similar feature-rich kids facilities, a little bit pricey but what they offer is worth it. There is a Planetarium, different exhibits on different floors, an animal terrarium area and events. It is sometimes crowded with parking but infrequently. We love this place and a very happy that its here to enjoy.

Great view on San Francisco when not foggy. You will need to pay for parking and come early because spaces are limited. Wide range of exhibits and fun for kids but can be sparse because there are only a few exhibits in each room. Only complaint was that some of the exhibits need cleaning because they can look a little worn. Check in early to participate in the hands on activities downstairs because they all close early before lunch.

A great hands-on place to learn all about science. I came here many times as a kid. Some of the stuff seemed a bit on the grown-up side when youre a kid but I was learning all along. There used to be experiments you could do with mazes and live mice which were always fun. The whole place has improved greatly over the years and is a great place for kids now. And go scale the whale when youre done!

Wonderful place in a lot of ways. Outside, spectacular panoramic view of Berkeley and the Bay, plus whale and DNA climbing structures. Inside, highly engaging displays on a wide range of natural and scientific discoveries. You can touch, twist, bang, pull, or otherwise get mano-a-mano with many of the exhibits. Its a favorite place for weddings and for kids birthday parties.

Lots of fun things to mess with and learn. Very sensory experience which is awesome for the kids! The only annoying thing is the place is a little disorganized and most of the bathrooms are on the bottom floor. Regardless, its a great experience for children as well as adults!

Have been coming here since I was a child. Its comforting that certain things dont change like Pheena the whale. It also manages to stay fresh with new exibits. While I usually hate 3D movies, their National Geographic theater is awesome! Well with the $4 extra.

在柏克萊後山上,學生、校友、在地人比較熟的景點,地勢高可以俯瞰灣區與舊奧克蘭市區!非常舒服的一個景點。

We liked our visit, however the ingenuity rooms and animal discovery rooms were closed to the public, due to day camps. The other areas open had lots of camp children with staff that were not supervising the children. 2 kids under an exhibit, etc.

Offers wonderful interactive exhibits to stimulate all ages. Well staffed with docents who assist with learning. The site also offers an outdoor exhibit area with world class panormic views of the bay and its cities. Reasonably priced.

Buying tickets was a bit slow, and the museum seemed a little dowdy and sparse, but our kindergartner and preschooler had a good time. Plan carefully if coming by transit on a weekend, because the bus only runs once an hour.

Great for family excursions and something to do. I would recommend 2 to 6 as the best ages, but so interesting up to 10 year olds. After that, it is still good to go to, but the older child may finish it all in 30 min.

Great for kids and has a good area for 2+ year olds. Planetarium show is an actual search for constellations though, so toddlers may get bored with that. Also awesome views of Berkeley and the bay.

Really beautiful space at the top of Berkeley Hills, with sweeping view of the city and beyond. The museum itself has a lot to offer. We came here for the spelling bee so we didnt get to see much.

Wonderful hands on educational exhibits which appeal to both children and adults. Movie in intimate planetarium. Some of the young staff members could be more involved with the attendees.

This place is awesome! There is tons of stuff to do for our 3-year-old toddler. Sunday was actually our first time. We purchased a family membership and will be going back frequently.

There is nothing of interest to any serious science person. So what a waste of time. Maybe the kids would like it but I am not sure why. Id expect something of interest but nada.

I used to love coming here as a kid! There was much to learn here, especially during their summer programs. The location is beautiful and always provides a nice view of the bay.

I visited as a senior in High School to learn about a newly discovered element that was going to be announced at an event here. It was incredible and I remember it to this day.

We didnt do the 3D movie or Planetarium, but the rest of the place was amazing. Definitely geared more toward space and Maker culture, but the kids had a blast.

Great place for children, many staffers to give information or assist. Many games and activities. Best small museum I have been to. Great view of Bay Area
