The absolute best place I could imagine to stay in Little Rock-- exquisitely rebuilt/remodeled, with inspired interior decor, and amazing architectural features, a great breakfast in the dining room (that I unfortunately had to pass on), a wonderful person at the front desk, plus several sitting rooms, and a veranda, lovely flower beds, and good parking. I arrived late on a night that was the only night off for the manager, but she left me instructions, room key, etc. There are nine rooms. I learned that for some reason, she had upgraded my room at no additional charge, and deleted the breakfast portion from my bill, and given me a businessperson discount. I would loved to have taken up permanent residence . The Empress of Little Rock his haunted, but the ghost was as miserable about the election results that night as I was and didnt spend any time ghosting about. It never occurred to me that a ghost might have political leanings, but considering this ghost might be a passionate patriot from (obviously) an earlier time in our history... why not? Arrive early for a tour if you want to know the history of the place.

For a young couples first bed and breakfast experience, the Empress experience will be hard to top. We were greeted upon arrival and immediately felt relaxed and at ease in the Victorian era home. Our room (the Victorias Irish Garden) was wonderful with the beautiful painting above the bed and the romantic garden themes throughout. We took advantage of the spa shower with the aromatic oils and the double bathtub with jacuzzi jets after a night on the town at the river market. Breakfast the next morning was very tasty and quite the dining experience with unique food items including a delicious cream of apple soup, fresh fruit, and a breakfast pie among other items. The innkeepers were very nice and helped to make our experience even better. Overall, we were very pleased with the entire stay and will certainly return in the future.

When my Fiance and I decided on The Empress of Little Rock, we had no idea that our escape to Arkansas would result in such an impression in our lives forever! We chose Victorias Garden Suite and were very pleased with all the details. Victorias Garden Suite is in the Carriage House, rather than the Main House. This offers an extra level of privacy in that you feel like youre definitely in your own little world! Although, for the owners and innkeepers, their kindness and service is custom, we are so very appreciative of each persons part in our experience. We got engaged during our stay at The Empress - the staff was very helpful in helping with the details to make the evening perfect! The Empress is a landmark that we will incorporate into our future together and we are looking forward to our next stay!

My fiancee...now husband and I dont have much money. But a wedding at the Empress was SO affordable; and it sacrifices nothing! We had a beautiful garden wedding that was simply enchanting; we stayed in the hemingway suite and had breakfast in bed no less! We could only stay one night but are already planning to stay at the empress in spring and then again for our anniversary next year. The staff is AMAZING and I was impressed with how simple things were to arrange the wedding while working full time with LOTS of overtime hours. I really didnt have to do anything but show up! Thanks to Jessica for setting up the wedding and Deborah was so much fun and was gracious when bringing us breakfast. We recommend this to anyone planning a wedding or just want a beautiful getaway!

My husband and I had our wedding on October 22, 2011 at the Empress and our entire experience was top notch. The staff was great at planning the event, the location was easy to find, everything was reasonably priced (if not a STEAL considering all that they do for you). We stayed in the Hemingway suite after our wedding and I never wanted to leave! They have luxury spa tubs and showers and beautiful ambiance. They had trays of food from our wedding waiting for us (which is a good thing, because we were starving!). We couldnt have asked for a better day. If you want a beautiful wedding that you dont want to have to do all the intricate details for-the Empress is the place to go!

My husband and I stayed in the Victorias Garden room and it was the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed in. The room was beautiful, the food was outstanding, and the extras were wonderful. We went sight seeing on the afternoon we arrived and came back to a turned down bed with mints on the pillows and a bottle of chilled champagne. The jacuzzi tub and steam shower melted all your cares and worries away. The only complaint I have is that we didnt get to stay long enough! We will definitely be back in the near future. Thank you to Bob, Sharon, Jessica and Deborah for the most memorable trip to Little Rock. It was well worth the drive!

Came to the Empress for grand high tea and was not impressed by the server or the serving sizes. I found the server to be very intrusive and not as pleasant as the server could be. I also expected more quantity of finger sandwiches with perhaps, a larger variety of tea. There was only one tea. And it tasted like potpourri. The option to add cream to the tea was there, but when I added the cream, the tea curdled.. I wanted so badly to be impressed, but found grand high tea disappointing. The rooms looked magnificent, but the holiday decorations around the house were tacky.

My Aunt purchased a small 4th of July weekend getaway at the Empress in Little Rock. We stayed in the Hemingway Suite, which was the nicest room weve ever stayed in. The room amenities were great -- Jacuzzi, shower, steam shower, and aromatherapy machine. The grounds were amazing to say the least. Everything is incredibly decorated and very clean. The breakfast was excellent -- there served very unique food, rather than just standard meat and eggs. Theyve made repeat visitors in us and we look forward to our next stay here!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at The Empress tremendously. We were truly pampered. Check in was simple, our room was wonderful, the Jacuzzi tub was enjoyable, breakfast was delicious; it was quiet, peaceful, and restful. We were thrilled to find that we had full use of the sitting room, the gentlemens parlor, the porch and the garden. It was all lovely! If we have occasion to visit Little Rock again, we will definitely check to see if The Empress is available.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Washburn Welch room for one night. The bathtub in our room was so relaxing and the bed gave me one of the best nights sleep I have had in a long time. It was rainy the night we were there but it was so relaxing drinking tea and reading a book on the porch. It was wonderfully romantic. The breakfast the next morning was so fresh and light- but filling. We would love to go back!

My husband and I spent two nights at The Empress and loved it. Entering The Empress is like stepping back into time. What a beautiful historical place. The staff was super helpful and friendly. They took an interest in our activities and even printed out directions and information for our day trip. Debra worked with my dietary needs and we had a super breakfast. I wish we lived closer!!
