This was my first trip to the park and I had a great time. I happened to arrive during the feeding time so a lot of the animals were out, even though it was a fairly warm afternoon. I was lucky enough to be the only person around when Shash the bear was fed , so I sat on a bench 4 feet away while he delicately selected his food from a table, one item at a time. The people who fed him stopped to tell me all about him and the park and everyone else I encountered couldnt have been nicer. The gift shop is great and the prices are very reasonable. The lady who was working was super sweet. I mentioned on the way out that I didnt get to see the wallabies since they were locked up (probably because all the keepers were feeding the other animals) so she called and had someone let me in since Id driven 120 miles to see them. It made my day. Its true that most photos dont come out clearly since most of the animals are behind chain link, but in person, they are very easy to see. I definitely plan to go again when the weather is a little cooler.

I lived in Prescott Valley for a year and during this time visited the Zoological Sanctuary twice. While the staff was doing a great job with the animals and everything was kept clean, the animals just dont have enough room to move around freely. The enclosures are too small for many of the large animals. In comparison to the Indianapolis Zoo, this was especially noticeable. Prescott Sanctuary had two large bears and the one large black bear seemed particularly miserable in his small enclosure, just pacing back and forward by the fence. Also, another large bear had the same small enclosure, as well as a mountain lion and other large animals. It would be great to see larger enclosures for these animals in the future.

Great Zoo! Its just the right size. Big enough to be interesting, small enough to make for a fun afternoon. Cheaper than the movies. Surprisingly, they have a fierce, full sized tiger! And Im sure his disposition isnt helped by his clear view of the kids playground! They have a great little petting zoo. The zoo staff are friendly and available to talk. It seems like everyone does multiple jobs and knows a little about everything. Its alot of fun and really made me appreciate smaller zoos.

I went here on a class trip with Mountain Oak school.... probably one of the best places to spend the day and the animals look well taken care of. I have plans on making this my place for photography and a place to picnick at with freinds and family in the future. Just found out they hold parties here too from one of my friends. Its nice to hear from the locals about their first trip here and how they remember the animals when they were younger ... all around awesome place.

My husband and I took our 2-year-old daughter to Heritage Zoo on Valentines Day. It was AMAZING! We lucked out on the deal of the day which was buy one get one, and out daughter was free - it only cost us $10 for a days worth of fun. The park was clean and the staff was friendly. We were able to see every animal at the zoo. Plus, we spent an extra hour chasing our daughter around the zoo playground. By far the best zoo I have been to (and Ive been to many).

It was rather empty when I got there and very few of the animals were actually visible. There was even a sign for just this "animals are not here for your entertainment". It was a very hot day and most animals were hidden in the shade to where you couldnt spot them. The fences keep you rather distant from most of the habitats so its hard to spot the animals. Fences block most camera shots from actually catching the animal on camera.

Honey, lets take the kids! This is the perfect outing for any Prescott family, or anywhere, USA family. This is a great pastime for anyone visiting us in the cool mountains. Its not as grand as the San Diego Zoo, but these folks are bringing the wildlife to us. Spectacular posts on Facebook await you, if you dont get the chance to take the trip.

Had a very nice time with my family was a little warm in July but as soon as the clouds rolled in we were very comfortable. Can get up close to the animals, bring a lunch and a change of clothes for the little ones they have a very small splash pad. Would recommend this zoo for a nice day trip!

2 adults, 16 and 8 year old all loved the up close and personal visit with the animals. They have a vegetable garden kept by volunteers to help feed some of the animals. Playgrounds for the kids were fun for all. Friendly employees and decent prices in the gift shop too.

Enjoyable walk thru the zoo. Arrived at 11am in July, so many animals were seeking refuge from the sun. Suggest you go in early morning during the summertime to see more activity. They have a nice play area for children plus a water feature they can cool off in.

Cute small city zoo. Displays are tastefully done with the animals. Nice to read how the animals ended up at that sanctuary. If you do plan to go, plan your time around animal feeding time. We got to see the black bear being fed; interesting.

Small but cozy, you wont see rhinos, giraffes, gorillas or so, but theres plenty of cats like tiger, mountain lion, lynx, leopard, bobcat. There are alco fox, coyote and wolf... Eagles and hawks and owls and a smal type of kangaroo.

It was a great time, the animals were out, and there was a lot to do. Great price as well. Staff could be a little friendlier but maybe they were volunteers. Either way it was great nd were definitely going back again!

Its a smaller and more intimate zoo. The staff is super friendly with both the guests and the animals. The animals all look healthy. I would definitely recommend supporting the good work the staff is doing there.

This little zoo is PERFECT for a morning adventure. I have 5 children and we visit it about every 2 weeks. Pack a picnic and enjoy Prescott Arizona. New signs, new animals all of the time and AMAZING staff.

Reasonably priced. Friendly staff... great place to spend some time with the family. Id recommend going early in the day, as the hotter it gets in the day the less likely you are to see all the animals.

Great place to go...not very big, so only expect to spend about 2 hours if you have your family and its warm enough for them to play at the splash pad. It is definitely a nice and growing place to go.

If you are here to take photographs, forget this place. If you want to take children to an inexpensive place then come. The chain link enclosures and guard fences keep you at a distance.

Small little Zoo inexpensive to go to it was like $10 per person. Takes about an hour to get through but they had quite a bit to look at. And I believe all of the animals there were rescued.

This is great for small kids. Its small and has decent shade. There are nice place and splash pad areas that my kids loved. We went on a Groupon and it was a great deal.
