Love the Reid Park Zoo, my grandson and I Go every week. Well maintained, all the staff is wonderful, and easy to get around. Going in the morning is the best, not so hot. All the Animals, are our favorites! We love the gift shop, fantastic interesting Souvenirs. The T-shirts are Awesome and Reasonable. We purchase something every Time we visit, Staff is so kind, and Manager Is always there, and greets us when we visit. The Tigers always have our attention, and Giraffes are fun to watch, and feed. Occasional Squirrels, running everywhere are a gas! The Elephant exhibit is excellent to watch, And Nandi always is running around, she Is a spectacular show to watch on her own. No complaints. Just the heat, so attend in The early morning! My grandson loves the Carousel and the Train ride. RPZ is fun, for a half a day, walk. Then Cool down for a drink, and pretzel with cheese. Its a smaller zoo, but it does its Job perfectly. ...

This zoo is surprising for how small Tucson is. Born in Tucson, I have memories of going to the zoo for field trips and on weekend stay-cations, but i was shocked when I came back to Reid Park Zoo 10 years later. They have updated a lot of the enclosures and have a real passion for the animals they keep. All the staff members I have encountered are willing to help and have a reserve knowledge of the animals even calling them by their first names. They seem to always be looking to add new attractions to the zoo and with the recent release of Pokemon Go, they are embracing and welcoming the community in scores. Definitely worth the price of admission and not too overwhelming for the little ones.

One of the smallest Zoos I have been too but this is one of the features in my mind. Each exhibit meets the needs of display / privacy to give a sense your seeing something you should not. The kids love it and one of the best features is feeding the giraffes. When I was a kid they did not have that but since it is so small the trees near the edge of the enclosure were in reach so you could get real close to them. Now you can have one eat out of your hand for a small fee. I recommend that you buy the feeding ticket at the start so you dont have to worry about it later. Again this a great zoo and the kids had a great time.

For the size Zoo it is and where it is Im gonna give it a 5 star. I am used to larger zoos and a wider assortment of animals but while the zoo is small the animal habitats are very nice. The elephant exibit is especially wonderful and my daughter LOVES the bears because she can get so close to them in the den area. Its a great place to go for a few hours and you dont have to worry about not seeing everything. The zoo has a good layout and is great for little legs trying to see the animals. I do wish they had a larger reptile stock because that is my favorite thing about zoos.

Pleasant zoo with a few particularly nice exhibits (elephants, bears) and peacocks roaming the grounds. My son loves it, and we make good use of our membership. The food at the cafeteria is pretty excellent grill fare, but a little pricey, and I wish that they had more variety, more seating, and climate control. The bathrooms are clean, but hot and stuffy in summer and cold in winter. Changing tables are not great. If you are going with a nursing baby, be advised that its difficult to find a discrete place to nurse.

I love this zoo! I am from New York and it is tough to beat the Bronx Zoo but this zoo does. Its small but well maintained and always fun to go to. I took my father there when he visited and he was amazed at the grounds, the exhibits and how many donations the new elephant exhibit relied on. The prices are totally worth it. They even had a stroller for my infant. They have a bunch of events for members and non-members and the staff are super friendly. I recommend this to any animal lover!

Honestly i didnt expect much from this zoo being it is in Tucson. But i was really surprised to see just how many animals were here. Not only that, but my son and i were amazed at how close you can get to the animals. Considering it was a Sunday afternoon, there was never a line or a crowd at any exhibit. Most animals were out and active. And the price? I cannot complain about that at all. Had a great time and i highly recommend.

Small zoo with unfortunately small enclosures for the animals. I try to go earlier, when its not ridiculously hot, and the animals are frequently M.I.A. Luckily, when you do see them, you often get to see them up close, which is really cool. Theres enough to keep you occupied for an hour or two, but its not likely an all day trip. If youre in Tucson, its a nice attraction, but I dont know if its worth a special trip by itself.

My family loves the Reid Park Zoo! This is a smaller manageable zoo, especially great for the kids. Very lush and green and beautiful and well taken care of. Lots of good exhibits. Im assuming most people that didnt see many animals went during the middle of the day. You have to go early or late when its hot. Especially love the newer elephant enclosure with baby Nandi! The RPZ is definitely something to see when in Tucson!

Been here a few times and enjoyed it. My favorite animals were the rhinos and giraffes. Its a place you can see unusual animals you dont see everyday so its a great place for kids. The giraffe stole my ice cream cone and seemed to enjoy it better than I did. I would recommend it to anyone wishing to go. The zoo claims many or the animals are on the endangered list. If so this could be the last chance to see them.

I always enjoy going to the zoo. The animals are great. The information given about the animals is very informative and interesting. The zoo grounds are beautiful with plenty of shade and benches to sit on. Everyone around us really seemed to enjoy the the zoo. Its as if it brings out the best of people. We also enjoyed delicious cheese frys, nachos and popcorn. I will continue to go to the zoo with my family.

A far as zoos go, this is a small one. Through the years I have watched them expand and grow as the collection within its walls do the same. There is plenty to do, learn and see so dont be fooled by the size. I would like to see changes as I am comparing this zoo to others I have seen, but I am sure budgeting and space prevent these changes from happening. The animals appear to be well cared for.

We love our little zoo! Lots of animals and youre very close to the action. Instead of putting the animals in tiny enclosures they just get the visitors closer to the animals. I know I prefer the closeness over the giant spaces of other zoos. We bought a membership and have enjoyed every visit. The holiday events can get very crowded, but thats not often. Only Halloween and Christmas.

The Zoo is worth a visit just for the African elephant exhibit where you can see a complete family: an adult male, two adult females, and three calves: two males and a female. The most recent calf was born August 2014 and is still nursing. Worth doing if you have not already is the "Giraffe Encounter", where for a two bucks you can feed the giraffes carrots right from your hand!
