I went to the Desert Hockey Classic on Sunday, January 10th. Awesome to see a college hockey tournament here in the Valley, level of competition was excellent. How Gila River Arena handled the games, especially on Sunday, was awful at best. On Sunday they had very limited options for seating aside from your ticketed seat as well as food and beverages, and did not have the Terrace Bar open as an option between games. After being handed a thermal printed ticket when my phone was scanned for initial entry, and being told that it was for reentry, when we attempted to go out and get something more substantial than pretzel bites and nachos, we were told that leaving the arena meant we would have to purchase new tickets to see the second game. Im not a college kid anymore. If I am spending six hours at a hockey tournament, I want to be able to eat something that isnt an $8 hot dog and wash it down with something that is not 20 ounces of flat, warm, $11 beer. It would also be nice to have a chance to take in some other sporting events that are going on that day since there was an hour of down time between the two games. I get that the venue doesnt want me leaving, they want my money, its the same reason you cant bring your own food or beverage in, but locking me in a building with gas station cuisine and poorly managed beer is pretty insulting and then to tell me I cant go give money to someone who will at least try to earn it is reprehensible.

I managed to watch the Eagles at this venue. A marvelous band... Too bad the arena that the concert was being held at housed the rudest staff. They had a no phone rule as well as the camera deal. No problem really, but when you have a group of young girls face booking it all night, and no one mentions to them about this phone rule, which was placed on the screen before the concert. It is only those of us older that are told, "Mrs. if you check your phone for time again, you will be asked to leave. The band has rules." This usher saw these girls with their phones on and said nothing. I did complain. Bottom line is, that if you want to see a group like the Eagles, go to a real state and arena. I regret coming to Glendale for them...

Excellent arena and the staff was amazing! Went to see the Coyotes vs New York Rangers on 12/29/16 (flew in from out of state just for the game). Being HUGE NY Rangers fans and sporting our Rangers Jerseys we were in "enemy territory." The staff was kind, the ushers and security were fun friendly, and helpful. The BMW lounge was beyond what I expected the staff was also very accommodating, and the food was delicious. We will be back next year to see the Rangers beat the Coyotes again

Was here for the Detroit Red Wings vs Phoenix Coyotes NHL hockey game. Detroit won thankfully! The arena is super new and clean. Parking was super easy here at this location as well. There were several places to go after leaving the arena in this mini neighborhood around the arena. The arena does seem to be in the middle of nowhere and if youre driving here from the East valley it seems like driving forever before arriving here.

The seating is beautiful, the chairs are OK. Hockey fans were a blast. However, the "Tim Hortons" tastes NOTHING like it should. Its an embarrassment. $3 watered down yuck! Also, the AC when your up high is way to strong, if there was a way to even it out thatd be great. Lastly, the fact its such a huge building with so many attractions, shouldnt the place have WiFi so people can participate in the contests who dont have data?

Nice layout and good views from most of the seats. Prices for hockey games are very reasonable, most likely because the Coyotes are not a top tier team at the moment. Hopefully that will change in the near future. Everything is easy to find and there is plenty of paid parking space. Food and beverage prices are what youd expect, high. You can bring in one sealed bottle of water per person.

Great seating and tons of vendors, also has a lot of reastroom easily available to get to. I have gone to for COYOTES games & Always have the Best Fun. A little bit pricey but worth it for the Experience. They are so interactive with the audience and have lots of give-A-ways to get you involved. Excellent customer service is given at all points, A very Family oriented venue for sure. : )

Great staff, wonderful place for Hockey...too bad no transit service back to Phoenix...you can get there, but busses are not in service to reach LRT...though, Uber and Lyft are very reasonable alternatives...have to say again..great staff...so friendly, and will try to make your experience a good one...very différent than my experience in my home country...

Ive been here for hockey games and live concerts and both were great. The venue accommodates large crowds well. The arena is in front of a bunch of bars and places for shopping so you can enjoy more than just the event you came to see. If you are coming from the East side be sure to factor in traveling time, especially if it is a popular event.

Went here to see Amy Schumer and numerous Coyotes games. You would think that with all the planning and available space they had when they built this place it would have been laid out better, but its not. First, its 40 minutes from Phoenix. Parking sucks. Traffic sucks. The arena itself sucks. Will not go here again.

For all you Canadians or there who are missing home, this arena has a Tim Hortons stocked with coffee, French vanilla, Ice caps, and Tim bits. Its not exactly like home, but if youve been away for a while then go and watch a hockey game and grab some Timmies. It should tie you over until you get to Canada again.

This place oozes corporate sponsorship. A sad example of the money-grubbing eyesores developed by wealthy sports team owners who view fans and community like organisms to be exploited. It must be devastating to know your best days are when the Hawks are in town and the stadium is filled with away team jerseys.

I love this concert hall because of the perks it has! If you attend a concert here you get a discounted room at the BEST WESTERN in Tolleson AND a FREE shuttle ride to and from the concert! When booking the hotel let them know you are attending a concert at the Gila River and you will receive the discount!

Concert... was way too loud! Youd also think by now that stadiums would actually staff better when it comes to serving alcohol. Do they hire trained bartenders because it takes way too long to get drinks. Maybe its just me but youd think theyd be about $$$$ and if so theyd staff up the alcohol servers!

“Concert ” On December 26, 2016 we took my wifes family to the Gila River Arena to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. We had pretty good seats in section AAA row 14. This was my 2nd time seeing TSO, but 1st time at Gila. The experience was very good. The staff and security was professional and friendly.

Stadium and hockey game was great. Love the Tim Hortons. Only complaint was the 50 minute drive from Scottsdale each way to get to the game, also we have a hard time getting an uber after the game to get back to Scottsdale. Would have been cheaper to just book a hotel next to the arena then commute
