We stayed at the campground fro four nights while we visited the battlegrounds in the area. I was a bit worried when we pulled onto the Bull Run Post Office Road to get tot he campground. It was very narrow and in pretty poor shape. Once we made it to the main gate the road was in much better shape. We had hoped for one of the full -hook-up sites in the middle of the campground, they were in the process of updating them and they were not available. We given one of the pull through electric only sites along the main road. The road was nice and wide and setting up on the level spot was easy. The speed of the cars zipping past at all hours was a bit annoying. I was worried about the jets from Dulles would be a problem but the flights stopped after 10pm. The laundry facilities were nice and clean. The only problem we had was one of the drains was plugged and there was water on the floor. I took a shower in the small shower rooms. There seemed to be plenty of hot water and the shower stall was clean. The best part of the campground were the trails. We hiked the White trail and then connected to the Bluebell Trail. The white trail was pretty rustic and hard to follow at times. The Bluebell trail was very nice and easy to follow. They have a really nice playground near the ranger station and the water park looked really nice. This would be a nice place to take the kids once it warms up a bit.

This is a long time family tradition. Last night we piled in the car and found ourselves loving the displays even more this year (wish I knew how to rate it best ever). The displays were separated from each other a bit more, the crowds are smaller during the week, and everyone was going slow so we could take our time to thoroughly enjoy the ride. With white lights on either side of the road it was easy to see without any car lights so the displays were even more magical. Its always fun to find the new exhibits. The fish pond and the snow coming down were fantastic additions. Someone needs to talk with those setting up the displays though because for the last 2 years they have put the 12 days of Christmas in reverse order plus we need more space between each day. You start with "on the 1st (not 12th) day of Christmas". We know this because it is also a tradition to sing this song at the top of our lungs as we go through this part. We sing really fast but with the higher #s there is not enough time to sing all the way through before the next number appears.

This is a great campground! The sites were all very clean and spacious with plenty of space between all of the tent sites. I didnt feel like I was too close to my neighbors at all. Camper noise was very limited. Theres also a large-ish waterpark right outside the gate that provides a discount if youre camping so I believe most of the families in the park were heading there during the day. The location is super convenient if youd like to camp out on a weekend with a concert at Jiffy Lube as its only about 20 minutes away and youre avoiding the usual car traffic to get in. One major downside with this campground however is the close proximity to the Bull Run shooting center. I cant stress this enough... you WILL be listening to shotgun and rifle fire all. Day. Long. You get weirdly used to it but you cant camp here and expect to find true peace and quiet. Ill definitely come back here again though but will warn my friends in advance about the gunfire.

Horrible exprience doing camping. No Guests allowed after 8:30pm. And only 2 vehicles per camp site and if a friend visits you, they will come and give you warning.....seriously. Because no more than 2 vehicles allowed. And horrible sound from shooting range spot. Camping site is also not big enough and very close to the road and not safe for kids playing as it is close to road and kids might go on road. They make so many rounds and checks to see if you are violating any rules. Really when you come for camping, you have to be so strict on the rules. You cant take any food, juices or toys to water park. Buy only the horrible food inside the water park. One star because its very close to my home :)

What a surprise! This very large, very picturesque park has so much to offer! I camped there for a couple of nights. There were a couple of problems. One, my sister got a flat tire because a ditch was not marked and our campsite flooded. Other than that, it was great! I wish I had had a chance to visit the water park or the rifle and archery ranges. It was the 4th of July weekend, so there were lots of families picnicking and camping, but it didnt feel crowded. We took a great hike. Thank God for GPS! We got a bit turned around. Its a very big park.

The park is a wonderful place for long walks or easy hikes. The bull run trail starts from here and continues till Occoquan which is about 15 miles away, making it a fairly long trail. The trail itself is well maintained but had parts where the soil was completely wet and sticks to your shoes despite two sunny days after the last rain. Its a perfect place for taking your dogs on walk. Its fairly isolated and cool even in summer due to the nearby stream and dense canopy.

Impressive park with lots of well-groomed open space for family football, soccer, large gatherings, water park, volleyball, picnics, play grounds space goes on and on. Nice RV camping from tents to 40 foot + rv busses. Probably the best overall park ever. Note to campers: firing range audible til 7pm. Travel tip: avoid Compton Street, enter from Lee to Bull Run Post Office Rd. Road is a bit tight for larger rigs but no branch scraping. Will absolutely visit again.

This huge, well-maintained Virginia Regional Park has a variety of attractions, including a water park, miles of hiking trails, several playgrounds, rental pavilions for parties, and camping -- either bring your own tent or rent one of several rustic cabins. There is a nature center and small variety store as well. Visit in April to witness the bluebells in bloom, spreading a thick carpet in the woods on an easy hiking trail that even a rugged stroller can manage.

The campground here is awesome. Each site has a degree of privacy with thick trees on at least one side ... if not three. Two bathhouses, complete with laundry facilities, are always clean. There are also 6 cabins available and 3 more opening soon. We stayed in one, when our motorhome had to go in for repairs, and were quite pleased. Weve been to BRRP Campground three years in a row and plan for it to be an annual activity.

I love the playgrounds here. They have the of them. The one all the way at the end by the park office is the best. There are also great picnic areas and open areas to play in. YOU HAVE TOP PAY TO USE ALL THE GRILLS THOUGH. I recommend bringing your own grill of you want to enjoy a great inexpensive cookout in a beautiful place. Check out the Civil War tent near the main entrance.
