The large nature reserve begins with a playground, restrooms, and some limited parking. The walk to the nature center itself takes a few minutes - you cant park closer than that. The center has indoor reptile and bee exhibits, a childrens library, and even an outdoor bird of prey/raptor zoo. Hiking is perfect for young children and feels very woodsy and beautiful. Its a great place to visit.

large park with plenty of wildlife. Saw a deer, lots of birds, frogs, insects. There is also a large garden that is quite nice later in the summer when everything is growing. Several other parks are right around it as well. Good trails through the woods. I felt bad for the birds of prey that are kept in small enclosures though.

Nice shaded trails. Decently maintained but a few confusing unmarked spots. Liked the geology and other signs along the trail. No good views of the Potomac unless you go down to the connected Potomac heritage trail.

Nature center is a great place to take the kids. The raptors are fascinating, and we got to feed Stumpy the turtle. Enjoyed the somewhat challenging (for a 5 year old) hike to the river.

We love this Park. Everything from the old wooden playground to the trails to the injured owls and nature centre. Never busy and a great quiet place in the city.

You end up walking in circles and circles, every path leads you into a circle back to the entrance; makes it easy not to get lost
