The doubletree hotel is something of a curates egg. Its brightest point is the staff, who put a lot of effort into being both helpful and efficient. It has an evening restaurant and proper cooked breakfasts, a big leg up on the other towers on other shopping malls. But the restaurant menu is unimaginative and unvarying, and the prices a bit on the high side for what you get. This dichotomy extends to the rooms. large, comfortable rooms with tiny cramped bathrooms. Nice to have a bathtub, but it is too small to stretch out in. The biggest problem is the noise. There is an in-room air conditioner in every room, roaring away like a 5 dollar motel in the 1950s. If the noise gets too much you can turn it off and open the window, when the howling of cooling fans on the ballrooms and the traffic noise will be just as bad. I cant believe that in the 21st century a Hilton-owned hotel does not have central air conditioning. The tower is in the middle of a bleak windswept shopping mall car park, yet it often does not have enough parking places, particularly at weekends. Most nearby restaurants are national chains, there are very few privately owned places to be found.

Utterly artless and unimaginative convention center, Its seriously four walls and a roof without any thought given to acoustics, parking, or volume of guests. The parking lot is tiny and winding, and the sidewalk out front of the main entrance too small for even two to three people should-to-shoulder, forcing guests out into the way of parking lot traffic if there are pedestrians coming the other way. Large events also force guests to park at the defunct (but superior in comparison) Expo Marts parking lot and walk a great distance. While there are shuttles, this is ridiculous. Inside, there is little to no natural light and it just has an austere feeling. Big box warehouse stores feel more comfortable than this place. I seriously wonder if this place was designed by an architecture intern rather than an actual architect. Monroeville citizens should feel cheated.

My first visit was disappointing. The event I was there for was amazing, the venue its was disappointing. Its very difficult to understand where youre to go to park, where the entrance is from parking, then finding ticketing. Once inside, there could have been more organization. I was there for Steel City Comic Con. There were many lines for many celebrities but no organization. Lines that span the length of the building! People walking around asking is this the line for this? Vendors telling people to move because they were blocking their booth. Having to run from one side of the venue to the other. Just poorly planned. But the most horrible thing was the cash vs credit/debit cards. We actually had one vendor tell us "if you use your debit card we have to charge you tax" ... Wait how much money is being robbed from the local taxes by this!

Great convention center but the parking is HORRIBLE. Weve been to events were the fire Marshall was actually a problem as well. Weve had friends turned away from popular events that were at building occupancy. People travel to events, have a lot of money invested into the trip, and lots of patrons were completely denied access to the event despite people leaving the building. Its perfectly fine to limit occupants for safety reasons, but to completely cut off any new admittance is not a acceptable action, it was a bad call, and one made more from vanity then duty. Vendors lose money, the event itself loses money, patrons taking off work lose money, travel expenses for everyone attending, etc.. it was a incompetent act.

I go to the Monroeville Convention Center every few months for the Gun Show that is held there. The old Wicks furniture location is the perfect size for this kind of event and they have divided it into the front hall and rear hall so they can hold two events at once. It can however, never replace the size of the CVS Office Complex (Formerly the Expo Center). My only complaint is the lack of parking, because the lot was originally for a furniture store, not two conventions at a time. They do run shuttles to and from the CVS building and Monroeville Mall for larger events.

Visit Monroeville is a great convention center with many features and benefits people may not know about. They have a huge venue, easy access in and out, ample parking and conveniently located just outside of Pittsburgh, PA. The convention center is surrounded by a mall, multiple fine hotels, restaurants and bars. If you are looking for a convention or event venue in Pittsburgh skip the hustle and bustle of downtown, save on overall costs, free parking and check out Monroeville.

Its more of a warehouse than a convention center. The parking situation is terrible. We really need a new convention center out here - the one downtown is really hard to get to and this one is just not set up for proper conventions. Im sure its fine for antique shows or auctions but beyond that its probably the worst space Ive ever seen.

Ive only gone 3 times, each for the Half-Priced Books gigundus book sale. I dont want to talk about how much I spent there. The bathrooms are clean, considering how many people use them. There is a Convention Center snack bar. The space is huge! There is ample parking with several handicapped spots.

Large facility with multiple restrooms and separate event rooms. A built in snack bar with American staples including hot dogs, nachos and soda. Best part is the constant flow of fresh, cool air preventing the place from getting overwhelmingly stuffy even with the size of the crowd it can fit.

I was here for a fitness expo. The facilities are fine, but parking is an issue for more popular events. I have driven by many times when the parking lot is completely full and nearby businesses do not allow convention center parking so you can easily end up parking several blocks away.

Randy and the staff at the convention center do a great job to help your event be successful. We use over a hundred different facilities for our events each year. Some are better than others. The Monroeville Convention Center team makes the event seamless from start to finish

This convention center is nice for events. It has 2 large rooms plus several break out rooms. There is a small concession stand, which can get a line. Also, parking is limited at the location itself, but you can usually park at the mall and walk over or ride a free shuttle.

Really not as big as a space as some conventions held in this location boast. Nice for out of town visitors because its next to the mall and there are a lot of restaurant options.

The bed is excellent for my back pain after the five hours ride from Detroit with the terrible rented car seating and the room is renovated with flat screen TV and the bathroom.

I run an artist table at Steel City Con. They do a great job keeping the restrooms clean on a regular basis. And collecting garbage. Overall a great venue for comic-con!

I attend the Steel City Con here. The price of admission has gotten outrageous in the last two years. I used to go three times a year, but now I may go only once a year.

Comfortable atmosphere & nice & bright inside. Some snack & drink options. Parking situation is always shaky here though so arrive early for large public events.
