Etown has desperately needed a coffee shop that caters to its residents. Thank you Folklore for finally providing that! I do not have enough good things to say about this place. So...Highlights: 1. Atmosphere. You feel like you are home. The owners are knowledgeable and friendly. After meeting them for the first time, you feel as though you have known them forever. The music playing (live or through the speakers) is always quality. The owners know good music. 2. The drinks are exceptional. Their coffee is specially roasted at Square One, located in Lancaster. They are the only place in Etown that provides local and fair trade coffee. The owners have years of training behind them and it shows in the quality of their drinks. 3. Although the menu is currently light fare, it is awesome! Try the organic roasted red pepper tomato soup! Folklore has quickly become my home away from home. Check them out. You wont regret it! Ps- in regards to the post about the sticky bun: Folklore has never sold sticky buns. No wonder you didnt like it. It wasnt a sticky bun!

Im not sure why this place has so many good reviews. The coffee and the service are both terrible. When I went here I was excited to find a good local coffee place that I could have breakfast at. When I walked in their first thing I noticed was that the music was too loud and there were children running around screaming (not what I look for in a coffee house). When I got up to the counter I ordered a red eye and a bagel with cream cheese, paid and sat down. It took just over 5 minutes for them to make my coffee. The coffee was bitter, tasted burnt and was watered down. I can honestly say that it was worse than Sheetz, Turkey Hill, Wawa or McDonalds coffee. I waited another 15 minutes for my bagel but it never came. I can only guess that the good reviews for this place are from friends of the employees and younger kids who dont know what a good coffee house is. I will never go back to this place and would have given it "0" stars if that was an option.

I was so excited to find a cute coffee shop in E-town and was terribly disappointed by what I found in Folklore. Between the setting, size, and ambiance of the place, it has the makings to be great, but the espresso is truly awful and, whats worse, THE SERVICE IS TERRIBLE!!! As an ex-Starbucks barista, I sympathize with what baristas can go through when the shop gets busy, but every time I go in (and Ive given Folklore countless opportunities to redeem itself), it takes the workers a ton of time to get even a simple order complete. Hey, if youre really busy, the line is huge, and youre short on help, I get it. But if you have 3 or 4 people behind the counter and only one or two people in line, theres just no excuse for taking as long as you do. I boycott Folklore.

Folklore has quickly become my "staple" coffee house whenever Im in the area. Ive had many of the drinks and have yet to find one that I didnt like! Their Folklore original drinks have been especially enjoyable! Their freshly made soups, salads, and sandwiches make this a great place to grab lunch or even a light dinner! If you get a sandwich I HIGHLY recommend their pepper mayo, its delicious. Owners Ryan and Dawn obviously care about their customers and providing a place for the community to escape from their every day lives. Its a spacious place with plenty of comfortable seating - they even feature live music on Friday and Saturday nights! I would highly recommend visiting this place!

Quality espresso drinks, teas, smoothies and sandwiches in a tasteful setting. Its immediately obvious that the quality has the utmost importance when it comes to preparation. The prices are reasonable, it caters to the most picky customer, hence the reason why locals love the place. Also, theres no other place this size which can accommodate this many people. Usually its busy, regardless of the time of the day, however you always seem to find a spot to sit down. That said, the evenings when theres live entertainment, gets packed. Lovely place to sit down and relax. Prepare to stay in the line though, occasionally gets frustrating.

I happened upon this jewel of a cafe my freshmen year of college. To the residents of the town, it is a local treasure; a daily must-have for a caffeine fix. For the surrounding college students- its a haven away from campus. I wasnt much of a coffee person before I visited. Their staff was so friendly as to even suggest drinks based on what I thought Id like. And wow. Their house made chai is to die for. The food is exquisite too, filled with unique combinations that set this little cafe high above the typical coffee shop. I now live a town away and still go out of my way to make the 25 minute commute to get my fix. So worth it.

Ive been to this place several times and have loved it every time. Has a broad selection of hot drinks that are incredible (I love their hot chocolate). Did I mention the food? Really good, sandwiches, some breakfast food (basic café style fare). The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. Some classic books and board games are available on the bookshelf. I like the music in this place (a nice mix of Sufjan Stevens, Death Cab for Cutie and a few other fine artists) humming away in the background. I whole heartedly recommend this place.

This place has been my favorite ever since it opened. I have had some of the very first nutella frozen goodnesses and I absolutely adore how Folklore has blossomed, lol, kind of alongside me. I was a sophomore when they opened and now Im in college, soon to graduate, and I can never think of a time that I didnt have efficient service, fantastic drink, delicious food, or a great time. I am grateful for Folklores fantastic food, and how it became my introvert hideout. I thank you more for existing and being fantastic at what you all do. <3

I have "bean" to Folklore several times. Once you get past the hipsters staring into your soul and making you re-evaluate your entire existence, the coffee and food is great. But one time I was standing in line for so long, I was "latte" to school, but the people are always friendly so I dont mind waiting. Also, that one guy there is hotter than a cappuccino, and his eyes are as brown as expresso, but he has a stare colder than the frozen nutella.

I dont even drink coffee but this establishment is amazing! All of their drinks are good and its the same with their food! I highly recommend the Frozen Hot Chocolate for a drink, and The Dawn for a sandwich! Plus I like the implication of push cards for drinks so your tenth one is free!! I have heard nothing but great things about Folklore, and after going here for the past 3-4 years I still love everything about it!

This is the coffee shop that you imagine in your head when you think of what a coffee shop should be like. Its large and open. There is a warm but cerebral feel to the location. Its perfectly situated on the square in Etown. The owners are great as is there staff. I like that they bring in musicians from time to time as well. I spend more time at Folklore than I do any other coffee shop or restaurant.
